I've been around the webcam thing since before there was a webcam thing. It started with a program called CuSeeMe. I used it throughout the 90's. I had a lot of free time, with no cheap options, so I hooked up a camera and chatted. Over a 6 year period, I met about 100 people, most of them women and most of those gave me a warm bed whenever I was in their area. Over those 6 years, I probably spent $500 and got laid maybe 300 times, from about 40 different women. The money spent was on dinners, drinks, sometimes on cover charges or movies. To offset it, I got about 100 free meals.

Then commercial webcam sites came along. Women who were putting on sex shows for free began getting paid for it. Women who were getting paid for sex, started getting paid for sex shows. But the early webcam sites were just like porn, no interaction, no dialogue. The webcam companies made money, but the models didn't make much. Then smarter webcam models came along. They are more than a naked body on a mattress.

To put it in familiar terms:

You can get a woman off the street for 20 k and a 10 min BJ. You can spend 70 k for a fuck, or 150 k, or 1,000 k. And yes there are prepagos asking and getting that much per hour. Is the guy spending $300/ hour The loser, because he could have spent $7 for a BJ? Or is the other the loser for missing out on an hour with an intelligent, beautiful artist? Are they all losers because a winner could get a sex crazed 10 without paying?

Today's top webcam models are intelligent, fluent in more than one language, well educated and experts at what they do. It pays off. $200+ per hour is common, most of It coming from a handful of people. Do the math and a 20 hour week turns into $200 k.

Over a 3 year period I've seen 1 guy spend almost $200 k US on one model. Maybe he's just pretending to be rich. If so, it's a good act. Maybe he has no social skills, but his career requires a lot of communication with customers. I've got no opinion on the size of his dick. I've watched others spend a lot over a few months and disappear. Some just spend a little for a long time.

What I do is talk to these guys. I tell jokes, I provide extra entertainment, because a models body gets a bit boring after awhile. By providing conversation, the model is more than just another naked woman.

From years of talking with these guys, some are losers, some have no social skills, some are pretending to be something they aren't and some have tiny dicks. Most of them are just normal guys who prefer a different kind of entertainment.

You don't have to believe that there are Colombian models making $400 k / year. You don't have to believe there are Colombian models paying me to move to Medellin, or that I'll be moving into a Poblado high-rise in 15 days to help Colombian models make more money. You can even believe I'm a loser.

But it won't change my view, or my income.

My Centro Street guide- (posted most of this in earlier posts but not all in one spot-gathered in 5 days of endless wandering around Centro by myself March of '17).

1. Behind the small white church-Iglesia De La Veracruz-Calle51/ Carr53 -just SE of Plaza Botero.

More young ones in this crowd, ID check a good idea, some trannies too- so penis check also. Starts at pay-phones in front of church and goes around block clockwise on 3 sides till the museum is on your left. Most the glue huffers are in front of / alongside the church. More trannies in this group too. Some of the trannies are convincing little spinners so make sure you are getting what you want. Several little bars along east side of Car53 between Cal51 & 52 with girls in the bar or doorways. Lots just leaning against the walls around the block too. I usually had to do a few laps and sometimes come back in a bit to find one I wanted.

I was quoted 30,000 p including room from the 4 chicks I was with there (3 chicks, one girl-boy. I ask more questions now. Then Oh!) The rooms weren't that bad, shower, fan, porno TV in some. The rooms we used were upstairs in the middle of the block on Carr53, east side, several working girls standing in the entrance and stairwell. (which is fun if you are only up there for 5 min and leave with a girl / boy. LOL) Even at 8 am on a Tuesday there were 15+ girls out, by 9 am I found a hottie so good place for a quickie before airport run, airport buses about 2-1/2 blocks away behind the Nutibara which is across from Parque Botero. Shower's a plus for your fellow travellers.

Another working hotel with girls in the door across the street to the right on Carr53. The 18-20 yo ones seemed to hang more around the SE corner of Car53 & Cal 52. Card this group for sure.

2. Raudal-and. 3 - NW corner Calle 53 & Carr 54.

Around Raudal-and. 3 More older 20+pros in this bunch, more hooker outfits, little scarier then the church block, more locals loitering / drinking, less commercial shopping foot traffic. I didn't particularly like this block while by myself, felt too many eyes on me. Also you can't just circle the block like at Veracruz, the surrounding blocks are a little scarier. (more trash, homeless, less people).

Most the action here is from the NW corner of Cal53/ Car54 and down the Car54 to the right (north) with bars and a love hotel with girls in the doorway on the west side of the road. Also some across the street / in bars and down Cal53 (Ave De Greiff) towards Parque Botero on the and side of the road. Also 3 "strip" clubs in 2 blocks there, Taberna Victoria at Cal 53#52 a-26 that I didn't go in and Conejitas & Grille Nueva Avenida which I did, liked Conejitas, the other one so / so (didn't see any hot chicks at the time in that one but cheap I bet), both across and NW of Plaza Botero on Cal53/ DeGreiff. At the NW end of Car54 at Cal54 is the Hotel Eros which is a nice love hotel with jacuzzis and steam rooms.

3. Parque Bolivar. Car49, west side park, from Cal54 up to and west on Cal55, and a bit right / north on Car50.

Much higher trannie rate I think but some females also, saw one smoking hot in the doorway to the Hotel Metropolitano on Cal54 at Car49 but was otw somewhere. Another working girl love hotel on s side of cal55 just w of car49. More weekend nights here then day, but saw a few in the day. Usually lots of cops in the park but scarier as you go west on Cal55. There is a nicer love hotel across the street from the park you could go to also, Hotel Life, NE corner of park, on Ave Oriental & Cal56, Theme rooms with 42 "LCD TV-Adult Channel-Mp4-Fan-Phone-Jacuzzi-Chair of Love Kamasutra-Hot water-Wifi. This area has the advantage of about 8 daytime Casa's in a 5 block radius or so, starting with New Life & Linda Chicas.

I don't recommend any of this area to non-Spanish speakers who look like tourists & who'd be easy to rob / assault / pickpocket. (except cabbing to the Casa's).

Went to several of the models Twitter feeds and snagged a picture. All of these are from open accounts, meaning anyone can check out their feed. I believe almost all of these women are from Colombia, although I didn't spend the time to check. I only know they are active webcam models.

Hi All, So I booked my first trip to MDE in July and wanted to ask other Canadians who have been down some questions primarily about the exchange rate. I was thinking of bringing cash down and then exchanging at the bank. Been looking at the exchange rates online and see some big variations on the rate. Anyone have a going rate for canadian at the present time. I was also thinking of using only the ATM's as then I do not have to carry cash on me and this makes more sense but wanted to know what if any was the service charge. Any info would be appreciated.

You did an excellent job. You probably saved some punters a lot of extra steps and risk. I agree with the rule of thumb I've seen here a few times. You are OK if there are other civilians around but you must avoid isolated dark spots. The tourist looking or Spanish speaking thing is generally true but not quite as much a factor as it might seem from reading some of the posts on this forum. For example, the Junin pedestrian street that borders a lot of the provider streets is full of daytime and evening shoppers and tourists. Not so much after the last restaurants close around 9 pm to 10 pm. No one is going to give a second look to obvious foreigners. Step off the pedestrian street a block or two and like you said, it's another whole story. If you have a phone with Internet access, how hard is it to plug in an address and listen to turn by turn walking directions on earbuds? You don't need to be fluent in Spanish to do that but you do need to know how to use a smartphone and key in an address.

I don't think that's necessary since the rate does not fluctuate enough to notice unless you are into 4 or 5 figure Canadian dollar amounts. I vote for using the ATMs. You can search the forum for info about daily withdrawal limits and exchange rates by bank and ATM location, but I think that's a waste of time for typical $200 to $300 withdrawals. Some guys absolutely obsess over it; probably because they are using the ATMs for weeks or months at a time. You hit the nail on the head about a reason for the ATM option. It limits the risk of losing a big pile of cash at one time. I find it more convenient to pay a few transaction fees than stress about somebody jacking me or my room for a bunch of cash. I have never been on Colombian Cupid. Back in 2006 I met a chick on LAC who like you said was obvious she was not 18. When I asked she told me she was 16. I was 34 at the time. I told her that I did not need those kind of problems even though she said her parents would not mind. I told her to get back with me when she turned 18.
