Otherwise you will lose at least 10% from the change houses and at least 5% - 10% at a Bank after you wait all day and give your passport and fill out paperwork. Call your bank beforehand and increase the daily limit of what you can withdrawal. Yes, the Colombian ATM will charge you a fee, but for me, my bank refunds that. Plus you don't need to worry about carrying cash with you on the flight, etc. Use ATMs as needed for your whole trip.

Any info would be appreciated.[/QUOTE]You have to go to a cambio to exchange foreign currencies, banks do not do this service in Colombia, downtown medellin has 3 or 4 cambios, plus others in other parts of city, google it and you will see lots of names of cambios, RBC, royalbank Canada, charges $5. To get 600.000 pesos At Bancolombia, some other banks here have a max 300,000. The only charge, no service fee at Bancolombia, if you have a RBC VIP account there are no charges, as previous poster replied, ATM 's a no brainer, the 171,000 visa fee for canucks is payable with a credit card at immigration, if entering in Bogota, go to the farthest line at immigration, that is the Canada line as only one immigration desk services paying the visa fee, if you wait in the first 5 lineups you will be told to go to the Canada line upon reaching an officer, and start the waiting process again. You can thank ex pm Harper for bringing in this reciprocal fee by Colombia, as prior to 2 years visas were free for canuckers.
Be careful with Hotel Milano, a few extra convincing trannys hang out near the doorway. I dread reading about another 8-inch surprise on this site.

In Medellin the most you'd pay is 200 k with a Mansion / FB girl. Our intrepid hero Wolf was paying 30 k a pop.
