Wrong day dude, but who let you walk to my door? I could've had a beef with this guy and now he's at my door. My final word on the Victorian House, you can do better. So stay at your own risk. Plus the staff is lazy. Very lazy. And why did they close the big gate that's directly in front of the Victorian House to have you walk from the lobby and across the property yo your room. Arriving or leaving, that's a long walk, either with your luggage or with a chica. I am usually suspect of someone who comes on ISG to pump up a hotel or other business. Warning people is one thing but pumping it up is another. -They took my ID to "photocopy". Then they "forgot" to return it to me. Twice.

-The walk from the lobby to my room on the sub-basement level was not too much shorter than it would have been to walk to Classicos!

-I cut open my big toe badly on one of the drainage grates near my room.

But, hey!. Nice view of the Bay, huh?

Take it for what it's worth. Not plugging a business for any personal gain. I stayed at the Hotel Sea Breeze last week. I didn't have a reservation and waltzed right in past 2 am. For US $40 it gets the job done. Hot water, air conditioning, cable tv. Security wise. They have a gate too where I could park my rental car behind. They did a reasonably good job at keeping the girls' cedulas. First morning I just sent the girl home but they wouldn't release her cedula until I came out to where they could see me to give the ok. The only thing is you have to pay for the day upfront. Wasn't a problem for me, they didn't place a hold on my credit card or anything. And if the first night didn't work out, I could always leave. Sure you don't get any picturesque views, nor do you get any sea breeze, AT ALL.

The safe wasn't a wall safe it was one of those cheap mobile safes. The problem I had was that they paid too much attention to the girls I brought in, they were practically slobbing on themselves. I like a hotel where they mind their biz more. It's a basic place, but I would rather pay a little more and have a better safe and breakfast. Respectfully speaking Sir but you should always get in the habit of walking girls out, it protects the guests and the property while ensuing that you are safe. The last thing anyone needs is a their turned loose that you brought in and didn't supervise properly.

When at the Terra Linda and other hotels on that level you get competency. Even the male help sit around the lobby in uniform and lounge as if they were the guest. And that sorry restaurant that sells so-called New Orleans creole food, who thought of that. And when the place is suppose to close at 11 am it closes at 10:30 pm. Like I said, I love the view of the bay from the room, but it's not cool when the water in the hoe is off half the day without warning, causing you and the girl you had over to sit around the room funky. Then i had to walk to that Classico distance funky to the front desk to see all the staff having a conversation about none hotel related stuff. When I told on of them that the water is off, the said it's on. WTF, so I walked to the front desk to lie to you about the water?

However 1st time at Europa for the same price and it was a rap. SB was too open and the layout is like a college dorm.

I am one of the people who run Victorian House. I apologize for the mix up about your reservation. It sounds like because they did not have a reservation, they put you in a free room on the bottom level.

I am a part of the company that runs Victorian House. We never have anybody come on any message board and post without properly identifying themselves as affiliated with the Hotel.

The hotel tax in the Dominican republic is actually 23%. You can google this to confirm. We charge 18% when using a credit card. You normally find a charge between 18% and 28% when using a credit card in a hotel in the Dominican Republic. Some places waive this charge when paying cash.

Since we opened up the original reception, we added guest services to help guest with their bags to their room.

I just realized that I am not allowed to post an email address. Please send me an email. I strive to not have an unsatisfied customer and would like to address your concerns.

Looking back at my latest trip a couple weeks ago, I was thinking about the "changes" guys are reporting, and why I still go back.

First of all it's an overall environment where mongers are generally welcomed, and that's a big deal.

Hotel owners, bar and restaurant owners and staff are happy to see you there, spending your money, and will go out of their way to keep you coming back, even though you are there with a chica one third your age, they still treat you like a VIP.

Cops don't hassle you on the street, they seem to have their own agenda (crowd control, public decency, drunkenness, unhelmeted motoconcho drivers etc) and the average monger is not on their list as long as he behaves well. If you drive you may get scammed by the cops, but it's usually minor and a few pesos out of your pocket.

Of all the places I have looked for sex, Sosua is unique in enabling and facilitating my experience. A great choice of cheap women, cheap hotels, friendly faces, its all there.

They could easily reverse all this.

We have all seen formerly wide open places that got "cleaned up". All of a sudden there's a disapproval, a different vibe and eyes watching you, and you feel vulnerable and at risk.

If Sosua is going to change, it could be quite easy, and it would be the mongers who first get to feel they are not welcome.

I don't think they are ready to do that.

Plus you never addressed the other issues I mentioned. Besides, your rooms are outdated and your television are old and do not work. On a rainy day I might want to chill for a few hours in the privacy of my room watch sports or the news, and your 1975 RCA ain't allowing that to happen. Apparently you folks at the Victorian House do not believe in upgrades. Yeah you might have a remodeled bath room or two, but maybe two. And most important, your security sucks. One day a security guard came to my door during the day I was checking in to tell me two skanks who saw me exit the taxi at the gate want to see me. What kinda security is that?

That property was a great place when it had the side door on the beach open, all you can eat buffet breakfast and all the bars open, especially bar outside the lobby. Now that property makes false promises about upgrades. That place will never be the same. I first stayed there in 2010, and it has gone down hill. All the Victorian House depends on is the view of the bay. But it's very close to being like that abandoned resort next to Charmicos that you can see from Victorian House. One day I was looking across the bay and I said that will soon be Victorian House, abandoned and empty.

I enjoy planning my trips but the great thing about Sosua it is not necessary. It is an automatic good time. Women will find and fuck you with no effort. Everywhere I go in Sosua I feel comfortable. It is truly a different world.

I read this article in Puerto Plata Digital, were they said most of the foreigners who owned business were pimps. This was my response to that article:

Don't blame the establishments, because you would have to blame the country. I have been to Sosua and other parts of the Dominican Republic. When you have an environment that doesn't promote any kind of advancement for it's people this is what you get. Now you tell these women that they can't make any kind of income. Most of these women will tell you that they didn't choose this kind of work. But it is better than starving. So what they will do is go to another part of the DR and start it all over again. What they wanted in Sosua and Cabarete is the cruise ship income. But that won't replace the income lost in the long run. Most of these women were lucky to make $50 dollars a week. They called those men pimps, but what are they called in Santiago, Santo Domingo & Punta Cana. This was very stupid because the person who started this crackdown didn't have a plan for the women who are now basically unemployed, no matter what their positions were. No matter what kind a work a person is doing, I am a firm believer in not taking food off a persons plate. Especially if that person might have a child at home.
