Just comes down to dollars for me and traveling to Mexico, especially the best areas like Tijuana, is too spendy given my current city of residence. What do you guys think the lines to get back will be like around 3-5pm? Can I make it back in time?

How long should I anticipate on waiting at the lines at these times?

Thank You for any feedback.[/QUOTE]Pedestrian line will be around 2 hrs at that time. There are websites where you can monitor real time wait times (google it) but don't count on anything moving quickly. Also weekends are usually more crowded.

Thank You for any feedback.[/QUOTE]If you leave by 9, you'll be at the border around 11, give or take. You should be in the Zona before noon.

If you need to be back by 7pm, you'll need to be on the road by 4, if this is a weekday, maybe 5 on a weekend. Depends on what part of OC you live in. If you live in the far southern portion of OC you can probably leave an hour later, but for example we'll assume you live in the northern part.

Weekdays, figure 2 hours in line. It may be shorter, but you can't bank on it. Weekends may be longer, Sunday being the worst. So, you'll want to be in line by about 2 on weekdays, maybe 3 on a Saturday. Sundays, who knows?

Therefore, you'll have about 2 to 3 hours to have fun.

I do similar runs, and the amount of time "in-zona" just wasn't worth the effort, until I got a SENTRI card. That frees up an easy 2 hours per trip.
