As Skogis alluded to, with P4P, earning large money for little hours is preferable to low wages for long hours, so its not like most have opted for real jobs. Setting aside the price issue and looking at the (somewhat more identifiable) 5 year macro trend "less WG hotties", do you think this could relate to the continued ongoing financial ascendancy of the east over the west, specifically the increasing aggregate financial power of China, Korea, and Japan and to a lesser degree the other asian "tigers" including Thailand itself? Is is possible this is causing the higher end working girls, to work off market? or engage in more (exclusive) private arrangements? Or move into higher priced venues generally inaccessible to typical Farangs?

In financial terms at least, its hard to deny the sun is setting on the west and rising on the east, and the trend seems unstoppable, and beauty tends to follow financial power. In other words, Farangs, (except maybe the wealthy, charming, or good looking) are perhaps slowly but inextricably starting to basically be dealt out of the deck in regard to the upscale talent. Your comments on Thermae reflect that, a lot of pretty ones just aren't bothering anymore.

Both Bangkok and Pattaya have Thai girls who primarily come from Issan and have sex with us for money. They are pretty interchangeable. Pattaya used to be much cheaper but the prices there are quickly catching up with Bangkok in terms of girls, hotels and food. The girls in Pattaya also used to have a reputation of being less mercenary but I think they are catching up with Bangkok in that regard as well. It really comes down to the different atmospheres. Big city vs beachside resort that often reminds me of the tackiness of the Jersey Shore. For a bigger difference you might want to think about Phuket which has girls but is a much better beach and water experience but is also famous for its rippoffs. AC of course has Filipinas and most of them speak very good English. But even the guys who like AC admit that it is way down the food chain but that is part of its charm I guess.

Actually not hard to get to AC from Bangkok. It is a 3 hour flight into Clark on the discount airlines. The difference between is Ac and Thailand is the language. Most speak decent english in the Phils. They also tend to be GFE, but not always. You can find that in BKK but it is certainly more rare than in AC or the Phils. The other differentce is the more raunchy places in Pattaya. There are a few and they should be seen at least once. But after that, up to you. Phuket has nice beach and a little entertainment. I went once and that was enough for me. But that is just me.

Again try to make 2 trips. One to Thailand and the phils. Then try the other in Thailand and then decide if it is still Thailand or the Phils you want visit on the second part of the trip.

There are just too many venues spread out over the whole country and marketed to different customers. Ie Farang, Thai, Arab and Japanese. My guess is that there are fewer but that is just based on the fact that Thailand has a fast growing middle class that you can see swarming into the upscale malls in their nice clothes and University outfits buying pricey sweets and eating at Sizzlers. Generally when this happens in society girls find other opportunities than sex for money. Ya, the money is probably still better doing sex for money but not by as much as it used to be. I know regular girls who are now making 15, 000 baht in normal jobs. True if you have a good month as a working girl you can make double this, but there is a price to pay and there is uncertainty and there is danger in this profession and there is a stigma attached to it. So girls have to weigh all this up.

The one thing though that I can attest to is that when I first came here back in the early 90's the Thai working girls who catered to Farangs came from all over Thailand. Girls from Chiang Mai, Suritani, Bangkok, Hat Yai and of course Issan. Now the girls we see in the gogos or the FL's have to be about 95% Issan. Why is that? Because Issan is way behind the rest of the country in economic development. If Issan and the Red Shirts ever get some form of economic equality, we may have to kiss a lot of the scene goodbye. I hear that comparatively we are getting the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality (other than the Arabs who get girls who should not even be in the barrel). The topnotch ones seem to be in the highend Thai and Japanese bars. These are the light skinned girls. But never having been in any of these highend bars I can't say and of course beauty is all subjective.

There are just so many factors at work that I think decrease the number of girls and the quality of girls who are visible to us. Other than those already mentioned, many many girls are going out of country to work where they get paid much better (I currently know 2 girls in Switzerland, one in Bahrain and one in Hong Kong who had been part of my roster only a few months ago) , many girls are doing their marketing on the Internet as Independents or in Escorts and God knows how many girls are being sponsored and so are out of the scene at least till the money stops. Very little of this was going on 10 years ago. Ok here is a quick off the cuff comparison:

BKK. Big city, very pretty girls, many sex venues, and spread out. Massage parlors best, but a few Go Go's are very good. Great restaurants, amazing cultural attractions, and shopping.

Pattaya. A resort town. Much more laid back than BKK. More happy working girls per sq mile than anywhere else in the world. The Go Go's are best. There are many really good ones. Walking Street is 20x the size of Cowboy! Soi Six is great. LK Metro very good. Beach Road FL's are always worth a look see. Countless beer bars. The list is endless. Disneyworld for adults. A great place to barhop. I usually drink more and stay out later in Pat than in BKK.

AC. A private punting club for mongers only. Great bars, large and small. What does AC have that Thailand does not have? Filipinas! GFE Filipina style. Plus AC is a funky honky tonk town like no other. Your mother would not want you to go to AC.

Now I have the luxury of time on my side. I will be landing in BKK in less than a week. Here is my itinerary: 2 weeks BKK, 1 week Pat, 5 days Phuket, 2 night layover KL, 6 nights AC, 5 nights Subic, 5 nights Macau, 1 week BKK. For the last 4 years I have pretty much followed the same path. BKK, Pattaya, Macau are always on my itinerary. I rotate every other year between AC and Manila. I like them both. This trip I will be checking out Subic and KL for the first time and going back to Phuket for the first time in 20 years. 5 days to blast off. I can't wait, but my message to you, Aibolit, is if you have the time ( 10 days or more) take in BKK and Pattaya. You will not regret it. Bangkok is the right city.

However, unless you're a younger version of Brad Pitt, its highly improbable, certainly not in the time frame you describe. But then again, no harm in trying.

Limited budget? Limited time? And want them literally gorgeous as well as young? You might try a more focused strategy. For example you could sort through the 1000's of soapie girls in your first 48 hours, making early afternoon visits, describing to the soapie pimps precisely what you want (possibly tipping at some point) , then returning later as the inventories expanded for the evening. That strategy should yield you at least 1 or 2 meeting your standards to spend time with on the 2 or so weeks you were in Bangkok, although provider peformance may or may not be that great, hard to tell.
