I would think your expectations would come along with a pretty high price so I dont think you would mind what Pink Lady charges. See what you can work out with the girls there. Pulled into the parking lot by the train tracks on Santa Fe about 8:30 and was surprised to see it half empty. I haven't been there since the Pro Bowl in mid-Feb so wanted to touch a few bases. 2 of my bases were on vacation.

The old Juarez Sports Book is finally open (UNO owns it) and it's nicely done with a separate room for the reel slots but the book area is nicely done.

Policia were on the prowl with the usually pat downs up and down Ave Juarez but I was able to pinball my way up the street on my way home. They (5 or 6) were also checking that Rainbow Bar(?) that opened on the east side of the street 2 blocks from the bridge.

Being my 2 "goto's" were not around, I cut it short as I didn't really have a comfortable feel for some reason. Only thing on my mind was the damn Policia so I left.

Tonight the news reported that the Juarez top public safety official, who was getting a bunch of death threats, resigned a week after the Police Director was gunned down. I wonder if his replacement will clean up the Policia end of it all.

Juárez's top public safety official, Guillermo Prieto Quintana, is stepping down and will be replaced Monday by a retired military officer in an attempt to change strategies to stop a wave of drug-related violence.
Prieto Quintana's resignation, which had been expected, was announced by Juárez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz on Friday, a day when at least four more homicides occurred, including three men slain before dawn outside Hospital Juárez.

As of Friday, 21 people had been slain in Juárez this week.

Reyes Ferriz would not identify the military official who will become the new public safety secretary and will oversee the 1,600-member municipal police force.

The appointee's name and further details, including a possible restructuring of the police department, would be released Monday, the mayor said in a news release.

More than a dozen Juárez police officers have been killed this year, including police director Juan Antonio Roman Garcia, who was gunned down a week ago today.

Death threats had been made against Prieto Quintana, who had stopped making public appearances and, as a precaution, was meeting with police commanders only in secret.

The mayor denied that Prieto Quintana's resignation came because of the threats.

Around 300 homicides, many linked to a war among Mexican drug traffickers, have occurred in Juárez so far this year.

Can anyone say for sure whether Genesis raised their price to $50 USD.

The Pink Lady's "Marlena" speaks alot of English & so does the Colorado's "Azul" and both are above average in hotness for Juarez, but you'll probably have to go to their respective establishments & buy them a drink to have a shot at getting an overnite date with either of them. Saturday was really quiet. As I came back across the bridge, I only remember seeing two other people on the side going back to the U.S. Traffic was very light too. It wasn't late. On the U.S. side of the bridge, there were about 4 Border Patrol agents there to check people through, but I was the only "customer".

Usually those folks are professional and respectful even when they're busy. But the agent that waved me up was a real "prince" if you know what I'm talking about. This guy was just mean and gave me a lot of trash talk. Now that I think about, the Juarez cops are better than he was. I was pretty steamed, but I managed to keep my mouth shut. Has this ever happened to any of you guys? Maybe it's a procedure that they use once in a while to try to get a reaction out of someone? Would it do any good to complain to shift supervisor? How much trouble can you get into if you get sarcastic with them? Is it just better to take your lumps and forget about it?

The last few weeks I've seen the heavily armed federal police near or on the bridge. I didn't see them this time.

One guy told me that a couple of taxi drivers were killed because the druggies thought they were talking to the police. That might be another good reason to stay away from the taxis.

There's a spectacularly built blonde at the Pink Lady named Claudia. She's tall, light-skinned, and very blonde so she's hard to miss. She's usually there on Saturday nights, but not on this Saturday. The other girls said that her mother was killed this past week in a traffic accident. That's sad, especially so close to Mother's Day.

Casa Colorado was very quiet. Maybe the girls were upstairs already. I didn't go in the Panama, but I noticed 5 or 6 people including several girls hanging around outside. Maybe the Panama is picking up again. It's been absolutely dead for a long time.

Many of these guys are just doing their job, but some tend toward the sociopathic and would love for you to "make their day. I've never had any of them trash talk to me in any way. I have had the 20 questions once in a while - Friday nite was one of those times.

There's been some news about them all being disgruntled and stretched thin so that maybe fueling some negative attitudes.

Octavio, a neighborhood crackhead and waiter, tried to steal US $10 from me. I threw a fit inside the club, threw chairs around, and started kicking ass. I was fighting about three or four Mexicans at last count. Knowing that the police and everyone else will choose their side I walked out and towards another bar. About five minutes later Octavio and his buddies and gathered a little mob in search of me. I saw them from about two blocks away waiting for me, in front of the bridge. (These guys know that you're going back to the USA so they waited for me at the bridge.) They spotted me and started running towards me. Tired of the bullsh*t I jumped on the nearest 8A / 8B bus and went home. While actually fighting within Hollywood I must say that I did win and knock a few onto their asses. About two or three days later I went back and saw some asshole wearing the baseball cap (Club America) that I had lost during the fight; told him that was my hat; he graciously gave it back; and I never returned to Hollywood again.

One time I was in no mood for the Customs bullsh*t and was curious what would happen if you're less than cooperative. Well I found out. Nothing!

I either didn't want to or refused to give my id and they took me into the back. In the back they have offices and computers. They ran my finger prints and pulled-up information about my parents, where they live, where I'm from, and other facts. (For employment over the past 20 years I've been registered in the FBI database and have gone through extensive FBI background checks so them having this information means nothing in my situation.) They asked me a few questions including why I wanted to be an asshole expecially during this war on terrorism. I became civilized once again and answered a few questions and they walked me back out past the guards and El Paso Street was awaiting me.

In summary, nothing happens as long as you don't talk stupid terrorism sh*t. El Paso loves criminal court activities so try not to create those expensive headaches.

I was at the bar and the dummy actually put a 10 of my change in his pocket while I was watching him and tried to tell me I gave him a 10 not a 20. It got squared quickly but it was the last time I did anything but walk thru the dump.

I was thinking about trying them out again but after you saying they're still up to their usual - I'll pass. Others have mentioned the same type of 'service' in the past as well.
