Follow-up on Blackantusa product?
Hey MiamiHeatLuver,
You wanted to know about that product Blackantusa? Works very well although I have never tried (Viagra or Cialis). I tried on my frist day stayed hard for 45min. Plus, but the great thing is after getting one nut off was ready to go again an hour later. Had no side effects even worked while having several drinks. Thanks for the tip! Great pics in the Sosua forum.
Voudoun, Santeria, Yoruba
Apart from mongering, I have another reason for my visit to the DR. I am interested in exploring the Afro-Caribbean religion/magic culture here. Santeria, Yoruba, Voudoun, Lucumí, etc. I know Haiti is probably a better choice for the exploration of such things, but I am a little hesitant to go there at the moment.
Have any of you encountered this aspect of the culture? Are there stores in places like Puerto Plata or Sosua that sell materials related to these practices?
Any resources that anyone can offer on this subject would be greatly appreciated. It is always something that has fascinated me in the anthropological sense, and I look forward to having an opportunity to explore it so near to it's ground zero in the Americas.
The Definitive DR - May 2010
I have been traveling to the DR for four years. I have just spent the last two months ALL over the island. This experience was different for me than my last trips. The biggest difference is that I had the opportunity to live in Colombia last year for 9 months. So, I have more to compare to.
I found myself arriving to the DR with rose colored glasses. Every day and night thereafter was a love / hate roller coaster. In the end, I have to conclude that everything and anything is possible to find in the DR. Sometimes you get lucky. Sometimes you don't. Everyone should expect the DR experience not to be served on a silver platter.
Punta Cana. I love the beach and a little city called Cortocita. I can party hard and Club Mangos is the best night life the DR has to offer. There a several casa de citas that open and close on a regular basis. Everyone links to think that "the BEST girls are at. " But the truth is most DR girls can not determine if they are attractive, hot, sexy. They can not evaluate if a man is handsome either. It is really just a base sex act 99% of the time.
There are exceptions. But that takes time and relationship building. I had a couple of girl friends in Punta Cana. These are working girls that would prefer to be with me for no pay. Just party. But, I would see them at Mangos. Or the German Bar. Working when we were not together.
The general complexion of women in the Punta Cana region are dark. When you see variety is comes from other parts of the island.
Boca Chica. This place is either a shit hole or a paradise depending on how big of monger you are. The beach is probably the ugliest in the island. Puntas are wall to wall day and night. There are some casas in the neighborhoods.
The fucking street guys try to hook you up – and that always is a BAD THING. There are also excellent sales people so even when you tell them to fuck off, somehow they can stick to you like glue.
The women can be just like the street guys. And just when you are about to get pissed, you meet a sweetheart that changes your view and everything is 100% all over again. The night life is a little sparse. Definitely not world class.
Santo Domingo – Now this place was a real surprise. The zona colonial reminds you a little of the French Quarter in New Orleans and old Miami Beach. It is on my map as a comer as far as a tourist destination. The women can be a little more professional at the night clubs. Behind the big casinos you find the monger playground.
I found the prices to be a little high in Santa Domingo (and Santiago) compared with what I was able to negotiate in Punta Cana and Boca Chica. But, then again it could have just been a matter of time. I only stayed in Santo Domingo a couple days – so I was a big target.
There is a rich area of town where I got nice reception from non-working girls (I prefer that when given the choice). I had a couple of mongers tell me that non-working rich girls was in impossibility. But, I found the opposite to be true. I think we all need to be mindful of our league and game. If you have a little, you can play the non-pro field in the DR (But it is hard to find a non-pro there)
Santiago. I held out GREAT hope for this city. I thought I was going to find muchos flacitas and blancas. I went to the hot spots the city offered on a Friday night. It was a sausage festival – more guys than girls. PLUS, it was like being at a FAT girl beauty contest. (THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF MY DESIRES).
I was sort of floored with disappointment, so I went south of town to the strip clubs. Nothing to write home about here either. I went back to the casino where I was staying the place that presumably was one of the late night hot spots. I was kindly talking to a fat girl in the reception area when her handler gave me the good news – for just 200 US, I could spend the night with Ms. Piggy. No thanks – give it to the next lucky guy.
The next day I did tour the Catholic university and the other university in Santiago. Again, a great self esteem builder. If I was to spend any additional time in Santiago, this is where I would go. The prettiest and smartest girls are easy pickens. Pay? You always pay something but in these cases, it is generally a gift and dinner and a generous taxi fare home.
Costanzia and Martes Franfran – Two little mountain town VERY far off the beaten track. Both have a high concentration of European genes in the population. NO monger action. But, that does not mean there is not action. I went straight to the church and central park, and within 30 minutes the Catholic priest was introducing me to the best and brightest in town. Obviously, this takes more time and patients. But, if you are looking for something special it can be found at these two special cities.
Sassou – Just like Boca Chica, except more of it. I found the service to be less than the tease in many cases. I was robbed and scammed. But, I put myself in riskier situations than normal, so I am not bitchin. I am just saying that you have to hold on to your hat if you are going to take a walk on the wild side in this town. There are also places like Passion. These are layups – good selection; good rates; clean rooms. But, I like my women a little less trafficked.
Cabarete – My favorite place on the island, personally. Great night life and kite boarding. Bamboo and Unnos will show you the talent of working and tourists. Not hard to find some tourist action – girls need it too. But a word of caution. There are many hot skinny white girls that come to Cabarate for the young black guys with tons of game – Sankys. They are almost impossible to out game. If a chick is open to them – you will lose 99% of the time.
Across the street from Bamboo is The Arriba – 30 dollars US will do you – and the selection deteriorates. A little down the street is the Casino late night. After 3:00 AM this can get pretty ugly.
There are a couple of boutique ***** houses on the north coast. I checked some out. Pretty much just a bird cage with too much of just one thing in my opinion, but to each his own.
I also spend a couple nights in Samana (Les Terranenes too) Really, by this point, it was just more of the same. The environment was a little more Polynesian for some reason. Pretty remote. Poor night life. Poor selection of women by comparison with the other cities cited above.
In sum, the DR is a great place for a quick get-away. The more time and investment you make in the people and culture, the more it comes back to you. The women can be good service providers. It is possible to find a study girl friend – that is how I got my best action.
It would be difficult, in my opinion, to find anything more than that. The women lack the style and grace to be taken very seriously. They would not plug into a modern world easily. But it is close and can be inexpensive – not cheap by the way. I was constantly surprised how expensive everything except lodging was. Even the beers are a little pricey, but damn Presidentes are good.
I will go back from time to time for business, but I will be without that optimistic ragging hardon of my first several trips. I have seen this island now inside and out, and I know the best to be had is likely 20 minutes out of the airport – no hidden magic valley of perfect pussy to be found. Bottom line: my best night in the DR was equal to a mediocre night in Cali or Medellin.
BUT, I like petite girls. If you like Phat asses and big natural tits and TONS of them, the DR could be heaven for you.
Some thoughts from my research.
I will be buying a new phone to use in DR. I was told cell phones that take sim cards are better. ATT and T-Mobile cell phones here in the states take sim cards.
Some phones come with wifi and gps. I don't know if those are useful features to have in DR. GPS could be nice, especially late at night if I drive a chica home and she lives in the bowels of some barrio and I have to figure out how to get back to the main road.
When I was in the Claro office I saw a brochure for internet access for mobile devices. One plan was pay as you. 100 pesos for one day and 100mb max for downloads. I would have to buy the router for the mobile device from claro for around 1700 pesos.
I have never used an internet connection that has a limit on the amount you can download. Maybe someone who has experience can chime in.
Phones from AT&T and Sprint use a GSM network and a SIM card. Phones from Verizon and Sprint use a CDMA network and the data is stored on the phone's internal memory rather than the SIM card and this is why you need to have the phone programed at the office / store. The SIM card holds all the info about the phone and this is why you can put an active SIM in an unlocked phone and use it on the network the SIM is authorized on. From what I have read, both Orange and Claro are moving to a fully GSM network and GSM networks are the most common outside the US. Very simple explanation but the reason you would want a GSM phone rather than a CDMA phone.
A phone I have never used but might be great for the DR is the I9 phone which is an iPhone clone and has two SIM slots so you can us it on two networks at once. You can read a review here http://i9phonereview.com/new-i9-cell-phone-review Or buy here http://www.brandsdragon.com/products/product_28975.htm This phone was mentioned by another board member about a year ago and he used it as a carrot. Looks interesting and is less than $100.
The SIM I purchased from the guy at BB cost 300 pesos. With 100 pesos of air time which was cheaper than buying a phone.
Most smart phones can be used as a GPS but would require a data package to download the maps as you drive. At. 002 per KB this is expensive if roaming on your USA phone. If you have DR phone most of the data network on Orange was EDGE which is pretty slow and most likely not work well as a car type GPS. I learned the hard way to shut off roaming data as soon as you land in the DR. The Garmin GPS I took to the DR worked perfectly and you can buy one pretty cheap off NewEgg. You of course need to purchase DR maps to download to the GPS. I have posted before about my success using this GPS in the DR.
As far as data usage, I use about 115 MG of data a month on my Android phone and would consider myself a moderate user. 100 MB should last a couple of weeks or maybe a month. Just a guess here but if your SIM supports data the 100 pesos a day may not be too bad but the network is pretty slow most likely not be available outside major cities.
I was amazed the number of places in the DR that offer free WiFi and did not really miss not having data connectivity for my phone. Of course the $150 a night AI wanted $13 per day for internet. Go figure.
