Are you talking about the ones in front of the liquor store? I spent a week in Medellin back in November and those ones were the only ones I saw. I only learned recently about Club Gusto which I will check out. Around what time do the prepagos come out?
We met two who were sitting at a table at a table at the beer store (I think that was the name, bar right off Parque Lleras near Havana). Just two girls sitting at their table with a drink each, me and my friend made eye contact, they invited us over, chatted for a bit (I would say my Spanish is a 4/10 but I can carry a rudimentary conversation) eventually they told us they wanted cash to come back. Ran into a few inside of the Parque later. A couple in front of tropical cocktails. I'd say between 1 and 3 they were out there.
We talk to girls consistently, whether for sale or not. But many of whom we tried to talk to just ended up being hookers. Look closer.
Yeah I found another hotel about a block or 2 from the Veracruz / botero block that was $8 a night but looked a little rough. LOL.
Hotel Botero Medellin was fine for me, TV / fridge / walk in shower /2 beds / A/C at $26 a night and about several hundred women within a 10 block radius available if you count all the street / casa / strip club girls.
My room.
It looks good. Medellin is unbeatable, when we talk about hotel fares, but especially the ratio quality / fare.
I got rates on the order of 80 USD / night at Sheraton. And the service and place are outstanding. Where else in the world on could stay at Sheraton for $80/ night?? (In KL, I can get 90.).
P.S.: Should I repeat?? NO, upper class hotels in Medellin are NEVER girl friendly. (I had to respond a PM on this).
How does that not work? One of the ones I was with was a solid 8, and fun, kicked myself later for not getting her number. Which she offered but I forgot afterwards. The other ones were 6/7's. Yes they do have some older / fatter ones, just walked by them. Hard to see how it was not worth $10. I had 2 SA dates, 2 strip club dates and a Casa girl for comparison.
It does not work because for some guys ambiance is everything. In Nice, France I fucked one chick behind some bushes and another in a parking deck; so for me it is not shit. But I have sent friends to some of my favorite el cheapo spots and they have cursed me out afterwards because they need to fuck on a down comforter surrounded by potpourri wallpaper.

Yes, exactly, you and I are on the same mongering page. I've gotten the same feedback from some of my mates. When I've pressed them about the girls they reluctantly admit the sex was good and the girl attractive, but some of them are bothered by everything that is not the girl.

You could just walk 3 blocks to Hotel Eros and have a hot tub and a steam room etc. I thinking about grabbing two girls next time, hard to beat 2- 20 yo spinners for $20!
Take them to Eros, give them a little more cash and have a very fun hour!
Of course if you just did the circuit once you may not see anything worthwhile, I did multiple visits a day to find the ones I wanted.

Which is bizarre because I got drunk there quite a few times and was never propositioned. One of the waiters, after a few visits, would keep showing me photos of his primas. Which is hilarious given none of them looked a bit like him.

About 10 x better then what Yakusa has. LOL. Now those rooms are literally hell holes.

Parque LLeras
I am myself both Colombian and US citizen. I am a professional working for the aviation industry and at some point in life I worked in Medellin (1990's) Paisas have always been proud of El Poblado and Parque Lleras, long before gringos discovered this destination and at those times a gringo or a foreigner was rare on this city. Paisas feel extremely offended with gringos (as they call US an European foreigners regardless of their national origin) as they are an essential part of the chain of human commerce in Parque Lleras. Paisas from all estratos have among them one thing in common, they all think that the prepago's in Parque Lleras are the result of the demand by foreign clients. They know from the past that no paisa will venture into offer or ask for sexual services in such a landmark.
Unless foreigners understand that culturally and legally is just not right to be part of the chain of commerce in Parque Lleras, paisas from all walks of life and specially the ones that have lived in El Poblado for generations will do slowly but surely whatever it takes to remove that from that park.

Robbed at Knife point
4-15-17 around 5 p. Standing at the corner of Calle 52 and Carrera 53, I pulled my phone out for 30 seconds to call an Uber then put it immediately away. I was just across the street from the crowd when three guys pulled knives and said something like 'We get the phone or you get the knife. " Handed him the phone and they walked off slowly, didn't even run, up Calle 52 into the crowd. I'm guessing right now they're just stupid guys who think it's a game, but that's a pretty slippery slope.
The girls seemed really unhappy about it, I've never seen so many kind looks in Medellin. It's a $250 loss for the phone, but it's more of a huge inconvenience for the loss of the data and uber ect. I would have bought all three of them phones if they really needed them bad enough to kill for. I probably dropped $1 k over the last two weeks on this road, but I guess I won't be going here again. Not because I'm scared, next time I'll get uber straight from the middle. I will be avoiding this area because it's unprofessional for these businesses to tolerate this type of behavior. In Tijuana, Bangkok, Pattaya, Shenzhen, and everywhere else I was told by many bar owners that pick pockets are around but that anyone who mugged a tourist would be punished. Business owners understand that a one time rip-off of $250 is not worth the loss of tens of thousands in future revenue.
If any of you know the bosses of this area, I'd advise them to interview the people standing around yesterday a 4-15-17 around 5 p, figure out who the boys are, and give them a beating before they do something everyone will regret and kills a tourist in broad daylight. Think about the police crack down that would be caused by that.

If you understand this cultural fact my invitation is to respect the feeling paisas have about Parque Lleras and restrain from use sexual services in that particular place. Is not legal not socially accepted, come on. You are our guests on this country.
I saw very little prostitution in and around Parque Lleras when I was there in November. A few women around the liquor stores. A couple of waiters asked if I'd like to meet a girl. That's about it. Based on the reports here I don't think that has changed much.
I've spoken to many Colombians, from Medellin, and from the coast who would say (and I paraphrase): 'I know the foreigner comes here for drugs and women but we have more to offer. ' I understand your sentiment.

' I understand your sentiment.
I agree with Calboxer. Traveling to Colombia to get hookers out of Lleres is lazy, uninformed, stupid, dangerous, and likely offensive if done openly or in a manner that's cavalier. There are so many places in their city to find sex, why do it in front of them. The girls that are there are basically barrio girls. Would we want to see poor people exchanging sex for money in our cities? I don't think so. Lleres is an upscale mix of bars and restaurants for locals to enjoy. I cannot think of any place or area like Lleres in my country where the addition of poor prostitutes, or any kind of open prostitution, would be tolerated. Maybe in the clubs it can be done discretely but in the open park area is detrimental.
-
Um, you are all correct but. The fact remains Lleras attracts moneyed foreigners who have little knowledge of the country, and that in turn attracts the barrio girls and other providers looking for those same foreigners. It's up to the Colombian government to decide what if anything it wants to do about it. Options of course include heavy handed enforcement of whatever combination of the participant groups, various diversion programs of the sort are now aimed at ex-FARC guerillas, or ignoring the scene to focus on existential economic problems that plague the region. I am an interested bystander / observer.

I guess the lesson is stick to the crowds, carry a cheap phone, and only use it inside of stores. I figure it didn't matter. Two weeks of visiting this area someone had you scoped out.
I don't suppose you want to tell us more about the girls and the area?
