I was there 2 weeks back, the action is high around Nana (Sukumvit 4), there are a lot of freelancers from different countries till late night. In sukhmvit 4, there are a lot of hotels close to Nana like mariott, ibis and you can go until royal ivory which is also decent. Let me know if you need any help.

Mongering is Bangkok has gotten costlier with time. Pattaya is still a cheap paradise. Stay in a hotel closer to walking street and you will find loads of freelancers. Enjoy your trip.

A word of caution from all of us bro! We never know what's in store for us at the other end, but just be careful when you get such "abnormal" offers.
