Just thought I would share something that surprised me. When I got here 4 days ago the cambio at the airport was exchanging for 4. 87. The cambio closest to me was at 5. 05 next day. Just went to ATM. Santander bank ATM was at 5. 11. Didn't expect that. Also this 7 pm curfew tonight sucks. Happy new year everyone!

What do you think of motels? I spotted one in the center (Lapa) and it has the advantage of being close to Les Prives.

The airport is always going to give you the worst rate unless you go to the baggage dudes with the uniforms on. You can even bargain with them for a better rate. The ATM is always going to give you the best rate. XE is showing 5.18 right now. With a Schwab card I am sure you could get a rate even closer to that from the ATM.

I used two cards. The classiest bank in the world. The ones in the front of Walmart and my schwab card. Got paid today so pulled some extra money for the group trip to vm. Drinks and uber on me.
