I can't quite recall exactly but there was a surcharge for using a card so I paid cash. I am big points person so the math had to be more than 3% for the card is all I can absolutely confirm. I do recall at solarium if you paid entrance in cash up front you got a free drink. Monte Carlo was like a 10% premium. Basically if you have good access to cash then I think that is the way to go. I used my schwab account with the ATMs so I paid no fees. Side note some places it's mixed like scandello in SP, no surcharge for card on entrance or room, but 6% if you use it to pay the girl so I would mix the card and cash.

Here is a tidbit I hadn't read anywhere, all the termas you get a robe, and being only experienced in FKKs and macau saunas I took it all off, but seems that generally guys keep their boxers on which I finally started to do on night 3, haha. But anyway the girls enjoyed me free balling it so I never even put it together until my last night there anyway.

Girl selection was good and changed nightly, some were repeats every night, some where there on night 1 gone on 2 back on 3. First night was a Monday and slimmest selection (all termas I am aware of are closed on Sunday), then I think I was there teusday, and Thursday and selection increased on each of those days. I would say about a dozen on Monday as a base line.

Process for centarus. Pay entry and designate what you want to drink and get 2 tickets. Change right there on first floor and if you want there is hot tub and showers there. Proceed up to lounge on 2nd floor where you get your drinks and the girls are. I was either the only or 1 of 2 customers there so definitely the zebra to the lions when I walked in. You can choose a girl to converse with at this point or let mamasan know you want some time to relax (this was my experience given the lack of customers I expect different when there are many people around). Then if and when ready tell the girl you like you want to go upstairs and choose 40/60 minutes. This is where it diverged on different nights, night 1 and 3 went downstairs to get the girls money and pay her, night 2 we went after the session or maybe just at checkout can't recall exactly.

One point to note that is she goes to refresh herself before the session but you don't shower and there wasn't one in the room so you would want to shower either right before going there, once you get there, or let her know you are going to rinse then you can go upstairs. This was the same at solarium. Monte Carlo had small shower in the room but neither of us used it until after.

Also want to clarify for those not in the know. Massagem and terapistas are two different things. Massagem is brothel, terapistas are actual massage clinics more like a rub and tug in usa. You can get a massage at massagem but it will not be the same level as terapistas.

.[/QUOTE]The way centaurus works is you pay an entrance fee when you arrive. They give you key to locker. I take cash for the discount. They have shower, bathroom and locker room on first floor. Bar on 2nd. Once you choose lady you go downstairs and pay. You have session. When you are done you stop again on your way out to turn in key and pay for drinks.

Brazilians and gringos who they know or who tell them they are not going to enter if they have to pay upfront, pay when exiting. Not sure I am going to go with a girl tonight is usually all it takes. Pre-COVID there was a reason you would see employees hanging around the entrance and girls would help you on with your robe. They were sizing you up. Whether you realize it or not, in life you are constantly being sized up, particularly your ability and willingness to pay. Practice your poker face. Smile. Don't be a jerk, but don't be the fat kid in the donut shop.

Is Rio closing down these days at 7 pm due to covid?

If you learn some basic Portuguese and you have some natural charm, the malls can definitely be places to meet women. You shouldn't immediately treat the women like programa girls especially in front of their co-workers or friends. Get their numbers and you can be direct as you like on the phone or text (with translator app if needed).

Some of the girls in the mall (not all) love the attention from foreign men and some know a little English. I like chatting up pretty store clerks. You have to remember the minimum wage is something around USA $200 per month. I don't think the clerks make much more than that.

I personally invite the girls to a nice lunch or dinner. You can be as direct as you want over the phone. Most of the girls know the score with foreign men. You will find some turn to semi-pros as soon as you contact them. Others need a little of the nuance of dating and pursuit. Granted the latter is a bigger investment in time (and some risk of not closing), but I also like hanging out with pretty local girls when traveling.

As far as approaching girls walking around the mall, I think it pays off to not be overly bold and overly direct. That works for me. I have a buddy who doesn't bother to use any Portuguese and has the attitude "I have money and they don't". He has a terrible success ratio and simply plays the numbers. Treating every Brasileira at the mall like she is a hooker is a plan for failure in my opinion. Of course, that strategy can sift out the pros if you aren't thrown out of the mall first.

The best technique would be to go to Rio Sul mall, hang out in the food court. When you see a hot girl, walk up to her, smack her on the ass and say "Vamos fuder! Actually, a few years back two italian guys did just that in Rio Sul (with a pregnant woman). Both got arrested and ended up in prison.

They closed ave atlantica and had checkpoints between neighborhoods. I walked av atlantica a while before midnight. Even though the official fireworks were canceled the locals shows were great!

They have set rates, you are either going to session or get numbers. You will be buying drinks and spending either way. If somone is that tight on cash a trash terma might be more suited for that situation. They can also be wrong on their assumptions, a local told me just yesterday "you never assume in Rio". My first time I could tell the manager was surprised I sessioned there because I took the advice posted here and did not dress nice to draw unwanted attention. Maybe you could explain more, I am confused by your clarification LOL. Do you not pay any entrance fee? If that is the case I don't think its fair to expect a tourist to get in free. They know their customer base.

The day was quite the adventure, a truly memorable experience. I am glad VM was slow as VB1 reported because that beautiful shithole would have been really overwhelming and probably smelled even worse if it was busy. I would defiantly return now that I know what to expect. Olegario was HiSo Rio. The views at the restraunt were great. Has to be best posto in Rio area. Downtown Recerio posto 12 probably shouldn't be traveled alone. It was a cool local scene though. Transamerica is legit. If it was closer to the praia it would be perfect. It may have been a blessing in disguise many places were closed we got to see and learn more. Also don't try and call any of the termas listed not a single phone number works. LOL.
