Bangkok Hotels

6 nts for 64k thai air miles. Executive club, where I am now, on same floor as my room, is great. I could get by w/o ever buying food or drinks as supply here has been quite good. 10 min walk to Nana/ BG soi 7, 15 mi subway to Nataree, surrounded by MPs. I say 2 thumbs up. If you have premium status w/any major hotel SPG will match for 1 yr this would allow you access to executive club. This is as good as any altho' I'm an advocate of the 2 bedroom suites at Pres Solitaire or Majestic Grande to share w/a good friend, as close to rock star as I have gotten when the right team of girls is procured.

Cafe also on ground floor serving standard breakfast for 190 Bht, and other meals during the day (not that I ever ate there). Internet access in lobby and possibly wifi in rooms, but I used my own connection.

I would happily stay there again as I prefer 'boutique style' hotels, but my guess is that the price will rise over the next 12 months.

At this price not including breakfast, not including pool, and interupted sleep, it doesn't sound that appealling.

Exactly what are you asking for?

I'm looking for a room in the first week of June. Most of the reports on the Townlodge are two years old and I know how quickly things can change in BKK. Has anyone stayed there recently and can post a report?

Any reasonable GF hotel recommendations (close to BKK , Suvarnabhumi airport)? My time in between the arrival and departure flights is only about 10 hours!

Either massage parlours should be nearby the hotel or its staff, such as a bell captain or attendant, can make the necessary massage/FS arrangements in the room.

It seems there are quite a few hotels (1000-1330 Baht per day) within 5-10 minutes of the airport, however, I am a novice to know if any meet the criteria as above.

But the pool was a big disappointment.

I would go back again because I like the open spacious airy feel, and the fact that it is modern and clean. I struggle to find other hotels that have the same feel and characteristics - my favourite is the Adelphi Suites, but as I said previously, it's getting more expensive by the week.

I have never tried to get a Hotel to organise a girl for me since I am very fussy.

If you want a girl to stay with you for the night, I would get a Hotel close to where the action is but close to the expressway, and then leave for the airport at 6AM.

If you don't need the girl to stay the night, then I would consider a Hotel close to the airport, then go into the action areas to play up before retruning to the Hotel late.

If you pick up a girl in Nana, or Soi Cowboy, or Biergarten or off the street, there are plenty of short time Hotels around that the girl will know where you can stay for up to 2 hours of fun. After that you might be wanting some sleep.

Another option is to book the short time Hotel for longer than 2 hours (4 or 6 hours), and not take any other Hotel.

The worst option in my view is to try to get a girl to go back to your Hotel near the airport. Few will be interested.
Girls prefer Hotels they are aquainted with or have heard of or at least know they are not far away.

Local talent near the airport might well be poor, but perhaps others will know if there is anything worthwhile near the airport.

Of course its not in Sukhumvit, but it has wireless internet, in the photos the rooms seem reasonable, and its 1.200 for a single and 1.400 for a standard (joiner fee ?)

I will stay there for a week, but I dont want to pay like 4000 bht for the Sofitel or Hilton. But I would like a central location near these hotels. I cant seem to find any good maps with hotel names, so I try to ask in here.

Ken, the thread to ask and look in is Other Areas. There is quite a lot of info on Hua Hin in there.

Just bit on my stay at Livingstones. I have been here for about a week and have had a flawless stay. Very helpful staff and the quality of service as good or better than everywhere else I have stayed in Thailand.

Usually when I am in in working holiday mode, I find myself spending a fair bit of time stuck on the computer sitting at desk in room, then vacate the place for the remainder of the day only to return to sleep. In all, no mater how nice the place it becomes more like an office you want to get away from.

This is what I think makes Livingstones different. Very homey with various places to sit and work, or eat, with out feeling like your time was stuck in the room and wanting to leave the hotel as soon as finished. If there are hours when different meals are served I am not aware, I think it is up to you, and nice not to have the restriction.

Finally, I have been more than impressed with the staff. I have had numerous request for help and services, more so maybe than at other places because I actually spent time using the facilities, and all dealt with efficiently and with a smile. One of my guests even commented that she liked the atmosphere of the staff. "that they seemed happy working here", and I agree, it shows.

So it might not be for everyone. Some people look for the bargain price, I go for value for money. With the location, quality of room, and personality of the place, I think it is excellent value for money. The sign above the door says "welcome to our home" and if that is what you are looking for, you will have come to the right place.

Nice pick up. I would certainly give it a try. Very good proximity to MRT ans BTS and easy wak to SOL, and soapies Infinity JC and Versailles.

Any reports on this place? Wotif has it for about 3,000 baht a night which seems like a good deal.

The Inn Saladeng has no swimming pool or gym, so if you want to wile away the daytime relaxing by the pool, I'd choose another hotel ;). Otherwise, it looks decent enough
