Apparently there is a town outside of St.Pete called Viborg (?) which has an interesting pro scene, but I am not sure whether making the trip is really worth the effort.
The situation is very bad in Vyborg. I visit there every 2 weeks by my work. Only some average quality pros. in the hotel "Drujba" on week-ends, all other are streetwalkers with really very bad quality of service. So, it does not cost to go to Vyborg for girls hunting.

I have always felt that Magrib was mostly girls who were at least 'semi-pro', but I have never actually directly paid for a girl from there. I do know that I have dated a couple of girls from there who were listed on Escort sites in the city and on one occasion, after assurances to the contrary, I was asked for a 'little gift' of $100. I think she was trying to avoid paying the rent.
The rent system at Magrib tends to favour the irregular semi pros rather than the regular faces that one sees at Marstall. Girls pay $20 per guy they take out, no score, no pay. Marstal, is a weekly rental of IIRC $100. That is why Magrib has a changing set of faces (and impression of civilians rather than pros) and Marstall has the same faces year in year out.
Tribunal need to get back the original owners, or at least their business ethic, greedy russians have made the place much less fun. Not worth the trip to the river.
Vyborg, is a town near the Finnish border, used to be a Finnish town until the Russians annexed it during WW2. Still looks kinda Finnish. Run down, full of beer and sex tourists from Finland. Very depressing, horrid sort of place.

Thanks guys for your expert advice. Sounds like Magrib really is the place to go.
If anybody wants very detailed info on the "rent" paid at Marstalls, Tribunal etc. do a forum search on dusty_bin and you shall find some very interesting info.
Vyborg sounds like it should be removed from everybody's collective memory.

Blake 7, Andy S,
I will also be in SPb from 28th March and would be pleased to meet up for a beer or 2.
I wholeheartedly agree with fellow posters about Marstall becoming very grim. I have visited several times in recent years but the last few times the whole place looked tired, not just the girls. The only hassle I have ever had from police in Russia has been outside Marstalls. In December I left alone and was immediately stopped by four police who asked me lots of questions (where are you staying, where are your drugs, have you been drinking, etc). They were not moved by threats to call the Consulate and simply helped themselves to my money. Exact same thing happened about 2 years earlier, and I had stopped visiting Marstall because of this. The common factor each time was that I left alone. I never had problems when I left with a girl.
I felt the atmosphere at Tribunal had also died a bit in December so for next visit I will focus on Magrib and a couple of apartments I found last time.

Dr Skank,
Thank you once more for your sound advice. It seems that Magrib is the place to be in St Pete.
Apologies for not calling about our beer in CF - to cut a long story short I got tied up with something (not literally!) Anyway if I ever bump into you again at any salubrious bar drinks are definately on me.
As to the other guys who are in St Pete at the end of the month - lets do it! I will be there for the week from 28th March to 4th April. Would be interested in Magrib on Friday 2nd April for sure. Are you around Dr Skank?
By the way I go to Nizhny Novgorod on the 4th for a couple of days. Anyone know of any action there?

Vyborg is a relatively small town (population approx. 80.000), so the sex-scene is of course nothing compared to St.P. Price range is probably a little lower though, and some jewels can be found.
I still wouldn't recommend Vyborg to anybody, it's such an anemic place. I live only 50 kilometers from the town on the other side of the iron curtain (which still exists in my opinion), but even I don't consider Vyborg a good choice for mongering. Geographical distance to Tallinn may be greater from my point of view, but mentally it is a lot closer, and also faster and cheaper to get to (no need for visas, car insurances), even though you need to use a ferry. Not to mention that the city itself offers far more attractions.
As far as St. Petersburg is considered, many ferry companies are now offering cruises there from Helsinki, so that might be a viable option for many.

Ciao all fellow Mongers,
Please can someone can help me? I will be in Piter and I need some contact of person that rent a flat in Piter. Anybody knows or can help me?
Thank you very much in advance to all!

L... try www.oksanas.net I've used her before for apartments and her service is good. Don't discuss the hobby with her because she's a good resource and not into our program.

Best regards,
Luca

That's true but her prices are not really so convenient. I am sure she started to gather for rich tourists who don't mind spending bit more but having a good service (she does provide a good one together with her US bf).
The fact is that local prices are much lower but of course more difficult to be found by a normal tourist coming there for the first time or without local connections.
Decent apartments can be found even at $200/month ... but you need again local connections.
Planning my next trip there as well :)
Any feedback from anyone about www.petersex.info ?
Cheers

Hey guys!
Forget these prices 200$ per appartment in month! I am living here. And very small 1-room appartment will cost 250-300$ minimum. And it will be located 15-20km from city centre! Appartments in centre costs starting 400..500$ per month. And usually you will pay 1month fee to the agency for services.
Best regards,
Andy

tl... not that this really matters to most people, but my experience is that short term apartment rentals in Spb are much more expensive than Moscow. Probably because there are fewer hotels and more tourists. Also, they are all priced in Euros. I haven't been to Spb in almost two years, but when I recently researched apartments there I was shocked at the pricing.
Secondly, there are a lot of myths about Russian apartments and prices, at least in Moscow. In December, I did a very intensive search of apartments looking for an apartment. I can promise you that, depending on the size, any apartment in the center of Moscow that is renting for less than $800 for studios and probably $900-1000+ for a 1 bedroom... even those apartments are Russian quality and are not equipped so that most Americans would want to stay there.
Furthermore, since the middle of last year the dollar has dropped dramatically and the rental prices of apartments have gone up a lot recently.
Let me know if you include Moscow in your trip and maybe we can hook up for a beer.

TL,
Ciao, you are right. Yes Oksana, has only prices in euro and for my budget a little expensive, don't you have any contact that rents flat in Piter please?
