I was walking around Taoyuan and decided to visit a spa. Now as I can't comment on Ceasars as I have not been there, I can only base this report on other people's report.

I can't say that it was a successful visit as I didn't get laid, but is the details.

The quality of the location is approximately the same as what people described at ceasars. It is a full sauna with jacuzzi, steam room, the works. Like always, you have to walk around naked to wash yourself and enjoy the finer details of the spa. The only thing that I can tell you I felt uncomfortable with is that a man walked up to me and asked if I wanted my back washed. I replied "NO THANKS" obviously.

Once I was into the Massage area, I was approached by who I thought was the Mamasan. They offered a massage and I said yes. I was hoping that they would offer other services, but as it was my first time and there were no posts here indicating that it was a veg place, I though what the heck. The first indication that something was wrong was when the girl that spoke with me walked with me into the room and was going to give me a massage. I went in and took my robe off and she indicated that that was it. I should keep my shorts on. That is when I thought that this was going to be a veg place. No matter, There were no reports so I wasn't too surprised. Everything went normally, it was a good massage and then I went back into the relax area to read my book.

This is where I got angry.

The mamasan approached me and asked if I wanted A SPECIAL MASSAGE! WTF? I thought they didn't offer it. She said that the girl that approached me was new hear (Second day) and she didn't know not to approach me. She then offered to me, but I refused. I was a little ticked off at this point and just got up and changed.

Afterwards, I was talking to someone who was working there and he indicated that the "special massages" were $3600 NTD. And like Ceasars, there was a $100 charge for your shoes.

The damage for a not special massage. Get ready for this. $3000 NTD. Had I known, I would have gone for a special. IF I wanted the special, I would have to add $3600 on top of the $3000 for the regular massage that I just got. *Sigh. I'll just blame this on the ghost month as this is the first time I've been in taiwan during the ghost month. That plus people have been telling me that this would be an unlucky month and so far it has been.

Anyways, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put the address on the forum so if anyone wants to know where the location is, you can either pm me or indicate that I am allowed to put this on the forum. FYI, it is approximately 20 min walk from the train station so bring your walking shoes if you are not used to it. As I don't get paid until the end of the month, I won't be visiting the place for another couple of weeks minimum.

I went to SC early last month and I have some bad news. I had a longer chat with one of the girls afterwards, and it seems that the whole shack area is slated for complete demolition soon. The"plan" of the government is to build a park or expand the highway or something. She wasn't too clear on it. I am sure it is an excuse to get rid of the 'loose ends" that the doufu shacks represent. It is difficult to monitor these places and they look bad compared to the upscale Japanese style BBSs.In any case, she insisted I take the Mamasan's number for when they move, which she thought would be soon. She said to call before I came (monger joke!), next time.

Anyways, if any of you frequent SC at all, make sure you get some numbers. There are a few places there that are in the houses along the park, rather than the shacks, but it looks like that area is going to be changed very soon. But in Taiwan, who knows? Let's hope her info was wrong.

Heh heh, I actually made this mistake when I was mongering 10+ years ago. I was even dumber, I walked in and ask everyone (the waiter, custodian, etc.) where's the massage, and finally a lady came out and massage me for real (veg.)

I can verify your info. Was there just this morning (around 7.00am) and the place was deserted. I went looking for my SC laopo but at the last minute she told me that the place was closed due to "an incident". Walked to the bridge and the shacks there were getting bulldozed and no one sitting around.

By then I caught the attention of a guy on a motorcycle who took me some other place where I had a pretty good time. Same price and everything but while talked to the girl later she told me the raids have gotten really bad. Not just police cars, but they are using undercover ppl to raid places. Seems like the local authorities are hell bent on cleaning up the place. Too bad, guess our old haunts will now become the stuff of legends and tales told of the "good old times'....

I'm wondering if it is part-and-parcel with plans (?) to legalize. Perhaps authorities don't want to inadvertently legitimize the SC shacks by leaving them in place when legalization takes place? I'd also be curious how much of this is specifically tied to Ma's stated interest in going after underworld elements. SC is clearly mafia run. Perhaps the gov't wants to severely constrict mafia involvement in a new legalized prostitution 'industry'. Seems it would be a good thing, even if there is sacrifice in the short term. We'll have to wait and see ...

That was my thought as well. We hear that partial legalization/decriminalization is coming then things get even worse in terms of cracking down. It is fairly obvious that areas like SC would never 'clean-up' in the eyes of the government in terms of reporting income or health checks or whatever is in the deal. Thus, it wouldn't be a bad idea for the gov't to crack down on the mob-run areas as hard as possible before opening the doors back up. This could be a good thing, eventually.

Give me some update on your new Laopo in SC. Our favorites already been away. I wonder the one you visit this morning is the same place I went, which is far from the area and there is some nice lady outthere.

Also I am a but scare with the Kissing stuff these days at SC due to teh H1N1 virus. I think we can safely say ALL of these establishments are mafia run or has ties to the mafia. Long Heng is actually a "joint venture" of two of the biggest mafia in Taiwan.

But you may be on to something. Before legalization the gov't probably wants to clean up the little shacks to pave way for the bigger legal shacks by the big mafias (and get more "red envelope" from them for doing this.)

Anyway, I long for the day when Taiwan can be like Macau...

So its official - one can get MARRIED at 99 Massage. Hahaha! (I feel your pain Ice, trust me on that.)

I went to the 99 massage today and saw YoYo. As other posters indicate not the most attractive in face or body. At the end of 90 min, she indicated we were done, I use a common hands-signal, shaking the salt, she understood and went right to work. We didn't negotiate a tip, but feeling generous I left 600. So the total was 2500. I am pretty sure that since this is Asia, the tip isn't even required.
Not bad if you are looking for a good massage primarily with a happy ending.
