I tell them a married to an very wealth older Puerto Rican woman that owns a clothing store and hates Dominican women- I don't work. She gives my money and I give it to my Dominican novias. What I was trying to say was that after learning spanish I wasn't going to pay big bucks to go to a country in South America that did not speak spanish. All you can do is reduce the danger by practicing certain protocols. Try living with the locals in one of these countries for a few months, they themselves will tell you that it is dangerous. My live in girlfriends in both the DR and Colombia watch me like a fucking hawk because they know we are targets.

You will get kidnap or killed, but when I travel to Medellin Columbia, it was the most beautiful women and some of the most friendly people you can ever meet. The Whole point is stop listening to people and go experience the world or you will miss out on alot.

If I had listen to my friends I would of never traveled to DR, Columbia, Brazil, The Philippines, etc. And miss out on alot of beautiful women and I hate when people talk about a country and never traveled there to go experience for themselves they just go by what other.

I met my GF years ago in a different Sosua. You could never use the word "innocent" to ever descibe Sosua, but SW aside, there was a naivety of attitude, and a fun sense that anything is possible, and a lot more emphasis on relationships and getting to know the other person.

The main goal of a lot the chicas in those days was to potentially hook up with a "rich" foreigner (all foreigners were considered rich), either an ex-pat living there, or a guy that could take them out of the country and take care of them (and family indirectly). The ring! It was a mark of pride and success among chicas.

I have seen a lot of those chicas from the crowd we knew do just that and have married there or moved accross the world. They are always showing me pictures of the new babies, from Germany, the States etc on their cell phones. "remember so and so? "say Hi for me".

Those marriages seem to turn out well for them, and I never hear of any horror stories about how it all went bad.

That could have been me because we were grooming each other for that kind of thing. Over time I realized at my advanced age I could never live there and there was no culture, here in cold Canada, in which she would thrive.

So now we are good friends who enjoy spending the occasional week together, whether in her apartment in her town, far from tourists, beaches, gringos and clubs, or, because I am still an inveterate girl watcher, Sosua for a beach vacation.

And if I can manage to get down there a day or two before her, I can still do a little SF on the side, although it's never as good as with somebody you've known for years, and trust implicitly.

Regular GF, a different way to go, but highly recommended.

I have hobbied in both Sosua and Santo Domingo and my advice to the average American wishing to monger in the Dominican Republic is to go to Sosua. I have had leche papi providers in both places. The ambience of Sosua is much more pleasant than SD. Sosua has a relaxed vacation atmosphere, good value for money hotels within mere minutes walk from a great beach. Also there is easy access to other tourist activities besides seabathing. The chicas are at arms length in Sosua whereas in SD you will more than likely require a taxi to get to them. In Sosua it is very easy to hook up with fellow Americans and trade stories. Having mongered throughout the world in places such as India and Trinidad, Santo Domingo is a piece of cake for me but for the average American it would not be enjoyable. Hot and polluted with maddening traffic and very noisy. SD motorists love blaring their car horns. One has to be very careful walking the streets as the drivers have no concern for pedrestrians. I would advise anyone who wishes to monger in a city atmosphere to go instead to places like Panama city, San Jose or Tijuana, these places are a little more expensive than SD, although by not all that much, but the average US monger will fare better there. I would visit SD because as the years go by I tend to gravitate towards the cheaper destinations mainly because I've done it all, I have banged the superhotties and now at the end of the day for me its just about bustin a nut. So if your wish is to monger in the Dominican Republic my advice would be to stay in Sosua. If you want to play the tourist by all means visit Santo Domingo, Santiago, Punta Cana etc.

I am a year one monger rookie and my Spanish is a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10.

I was in Puerto Plata earlier this month and I noticed the place is crawling with hot chicas. Have you ever mongered in Puerto Plata and how would you compare the scene to Sosua for a newbie such as myself?

Am using an award ticket to fly into SDQ for a first trip to the the. Are. (airline doesn't go to POP or PUJ). Am arriving at 2:16 pm On a Wednesday and departing out at 3:10 pm The next Monday, so hours are civilized. Would like to get to / from Sosua, presumably by bus, the same day of the flight in both directions. Is this do-able without having to overnight in Santo Domingo? How good are the bus services? Do you have to go from the airport to the city first on the SDQ side?

While it's my first DR trip, I've been to Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Costa Rica and a few other places and had to do this sort of thing before. Any advice appreciated.
