It is unlikely that sex trade is allowed in bars, just because they have 4 walls. So likely "beer bars" is a mistake, if was written in English. Of course sex trade will be allowed in Massage shops that do not provide a Soapy bath, nor have a fishbowl. LOL Just trying to indicate how silly this.
Perhaps the key point should be "illegal sex trade", meaning cracking down not on sex but on under correct age girls or girls that do not have Thai identity card. These are the things cracked down on in Bangkok.

Police do photoshoots whenever they walk through Walking Street. Happens often. As you may be aware, Pattaya Police are going mental over some news articles published in a British tabloid that no one in the world reads except for Brits.
No, the crack down is on the entire sex trade for all girls/ladyboys. Pretty sure no one is going to the dirty beaches in Pattaya without the sex industry.
Not sure about BKK but in Pattaya if someone says a beer bar it's one of the thousands of non-enclosed / outdoor bars in the city. Some place like a gogo bar would never be referred to as a beer bar.

While it is very clear that ladyboys are dressed and made up to be ladies, it could be quite unclear whether a girl is a Tom or not, and what her (or should I be saying "his") sexual preference is. As you won't be back to Thailand for a while, do you have any advice on navigating LK Metro? I clearly got it all wrong. To me it's seems to be the bazaro world Agogo area. I've had great times on Walkimg Street, Soi Cowboy, Nana, and Stephan Kwai but this place was just crazy. There were even very few customers. How do they get by?

Yes I have been around town from Soi 6, LK Metro, WS, kinnaree where I had a good time and have visited twice already. Insomnia has been kinda Sausage fest for the last few days with very slim pickings. I might be very picky myself but then choice does matter to me. Getting laid is not an issue at all for sure but I had a better time during my visit in October last year.
I do have 3 more days of stay left and will be frequenting all places again just in case my earlier visits were on a bad day.

In my past visits to Pattaya I thought of visiting Kinnaree but somehow couldn't. Since you had good time there can you tell how are the girls quality and at what rate? I again visit Pattaya in August and this time definitely I will explore kinnaree.

I mostly stuck with my Ibar regular from last trip, one Pochahotas looking hottie I found at Red Point and a couple of very nice girls I met through the internet. So good ones can be found. It just takes a lot more effort.

I think this is to be expected this time of year and pretty much jibes with what I'v experienced in the past. My trips in August-September have always been the best in terms of selection, then my May trips, and worst December-January.

And in 2012 June-July. I think perhaps the lower part of the actual low season. Maybe it's because the rain scares people from committing to book that time, people hate the idea of being stuck in a hotel on their holiday, despite the rain not lasting long of a duration in Thailand. Also a lot of people want to do more than *just* p4 p, even if they take their LT / LLT girls out with them. Hard to enjoy day-time beach / island stuff it's dark and cloudy with a chance of rain.
I'm thinking, better to try again soon, but during / around songkhran was not so great.
I didn't find it so great May 2016 which is the reason I chose April and May 2017 to be away from Songkran and low season. I found that by the end of June 2016 the girls started coming back a little. Guess they started running out of money! By mid September the numbers started increasing. In October I can say it was good again. In November girls just started popping up everywhere. It was unbelievable until mid-December, 2016. Over Christmas and New Year's Pattaya sucked major ass. Worst time of year by far. I went to some clubs and there were only about 25% of the girls they normally had. So, imo if I were to only go to Pattaya once a year I would choose somewhere between Nov. 7 and Dec. 15.
The above is just my thoughts and only based on 2015 and 2016. Before 2015 is irrelevant by now. Interested to hear what others feel is peak season for girl quality/quantity in Pattaya.

How do they get by?[/QUOTE]I have to admit my first 2 extended trips to Pattaya I wasn't a fan of LK Metro even though guys like Breadman and Finnish Fucker kept telling me it was good place to be. As I became more of a regular and many girls in every club started recognizing me it became much more fun. There is just no pressure there. Way more laid back girls overall. I really don't have a strategy for you. LK Metro is a bit different. As you pointed out, most of the time there are only 4-5 customers in these clubs with many girls. My LK Metro girls tell me they work at LK over WS since the clubs are very relaxed on their rules. They do realize they are going to make less money than on WS. Some of my girls make 500 baht in a night but they're still happy and cheerful.
I know you had a poor time at Ninja and yes even Ninja can be bad at times. Unlike many of the other LK Metro girls Ninja girls get barfined by the Japanese and Korean, sometimes right after it opens. However, when Ninja is right it can match any club on WS, Nana, and Soi Cowboy. There can be some very pretty girls there. Unless you stayed for an entire round many girls just hide upstairs. They usually have 4 sets of girls when the club is rocking.
If you head back to LK, try Kaos. It's likely the smallest gogo bar in the world but if you can find a girl you like there you will have a blast. A lot of time there are 15 of them just standing outside the bar trying to lure customers in. Touch also has 2-3 top gogo girls. I posted their photos on ISG fairly recently.
That really sucks to hear Christmas and New Years are bad since that is when I plan on going, I would have thought, since I assume most are Buddhist, they wouldn't care about western holidays so it would be business as usual. Hopefully since it is my first time and I don't know any better I won't be disappointed like you guys =p.
