I was in Medellín a week ago and here is my report (I am fluent in Spanish so all of my communications were done on Whatsapp):

My aim is to check all action in Medellin, and I speak only English. Is that the place I should look for accommodation?
Planned dates are from 14th June to 22nd June.

You're going to need to hit 11 or 12 different casas, massages and clubs each day, work in 15 to 20 escorts and street walkers each day and find time for another 10 or so from the various ads and social media options.
With that schedule it doesn't matter where you stay because you have no time to sleep, shower or eat.
However, if you come up with a better plan, Poblado is probably the best place to stay. At least you will probably be safe there and should be able to find people speaking English.
Your best option is to stay at the Mansion. Barring that, do lots and lots of research and start studying Spanish.

They invite women over daily (4-8 daily) to hang out on the property. There is an outdoor pool area where they hang out during the day and then in the indoor bar after dark. The price is pretty much set at 150,000 pesos (52). Some will ask for 200 k ( 70). This is for a short-time session. If you want a woman stay all night, it'll be 300,000-400,000.
You won't need Spanish as the staff speaks English. The women don't, but you don't need to speak Spanish to have a good time there, or anywhere in Colombia for that matter. You're going to have fun! Hard not to.
However, the more spanish you speak, the exponentially better time you'll have!

He stuck to Loutron and Club Gusto. At Loutron the lady he was with spoke English. In Club Gusto he was the silent mime and he spoke no words to the woman even during TLN. In both venues he was clearly overcharged. The only normal casa he went to was New Life when I took him there. His English speaking driver who I arranged to take him on tours also overcharged a bit.
Then again he took one look around Centro with me and decided it wasn't for him. In Cartagena he only banged chicas in Isis. Again using his phone.
He did regret not speaking Spanish and sometimes I would be asked to do quite a bit of translating for normal day to day shit.
My take away is he was lonely as fuck because of it but enjoyed his time anyway. I was the exact way three years ago when my Spanish was nonexistent.
If you are going for the first time and speak no Spanish pick up a phrase book and make an effort. Every visit I had has improved my Spanish. You have to try though.

I'll admit that the concept of "a good time" is relative. Is it not manageable with translator apps in Casas and Clubs? My plan is to stay at hotel Nutibara for first 2 days and visit el centro clubs and near by casas; then move to El Poblado or other area. Mansion is expensive and want to avoid due to last year crack downs. ; If mansion is the the only option, I will skip mde all together, instead go to Tijuana Hong Kong club. I have no time to learn Spanish as researching club, hotel and casa takes lot of time. No one here specified Spanish is mandatory. BTW, is Spanish required to use uber?

I consider Fluent being able to defend myself in a Court of Law down there, even for something as basic as a traffic ticket.
With that being said:
Like anything in life, you have to at least try. If you have a 3-4 HR plane ride down there, that should be plenty of time to learn how to count & tell time from any basic Spanish book. After that, learn basic greetings & pleasantries. Then learn basic food & drink Items. Chances are you will be sitting next to a native Spanish speaker who would feel glad to help you. Like YKY said, you have to put out some effort. Go into the little tiendas & buy a bottle of water using only the Spanish you just learned, get a little confidence, listen to how the locals pronounce words & try to mimic their accent. It is quite an accomplishment to learn a second language, however, it doesn't do much good if you sound like Peggy Hill from the cartoon series King of The Hill. My first trip to the MDE while staying at the Mansion last July, there was a goofball that would brag about how great his Spanish was (& how great he was)!! I had one occasion to listen to this Self Glosser try to talk to a Taxista & I swear his Spanish sounded exactly like Peggy Hill's Cartoon Hooked on Phonics Spanish. I was actually embarassed for him his accent was so comical. So try to roll your are's & mimic the local accent after you get the bascis down pat!!
It's not that diffucult, but does require some effort & it will pay off exponentially when down there.

I stayed at the Mansion on my first 2 trips & had an awesome time. I have a list of Mansion girls whom I will see the next trip down when I stay in Parque LLeras.
