Thanks to all the people that have posted some info on the forum. It's of great help. I just want to ask from all y'all old timers. I would love to come to Asia and do some big time mongering.
Please help me with some info on all the good places to visit and how to stay out of trouble. And how safe is asia for a young black American to monger. Please advice. Will really appreciate. Peace.
I have been a regular to Bangkok for the last many years, usually making at least one trip a year. The delights that Bangkok offers, is not to be found anywhere else in the world. A few of my thoughts follows:
Initially i frequented the tourist hotspots like the Patpong Bars, Nana Plaza, The Massage parlours, Nana Hotel, Sex Shows etc. A visitor must visit these spots to sample what is on offer. The soapies or massage parlours elicit a response that 'i must be in heaven' when you first try it. The sex shows do not excite, but draw an amazed response at the sight of cunts throwing darts & opening cans. Nana Disco is a sure shot with girls out numbering boys and aggresively marketing their wares. Patpong is a hustle but worth a try.
On my later trips, i tried newer spots like Thermae coffee shop to pick up girls, the beer garden on Sukhumvit for afternoon rendezvous ( closed now).
My attention turned to discos like Spasso at The Grand Hyatt & CM2 at The Sofitel where you could meet and pick up not only locals but East European/ former USSR girls for short or long times. A Bangkok institution is the Eden Club, where Marc offers an unrivalled debauchery 90 min session. The Menu is interesting & the encounter out of the world. A must try. A special mention must be made for the Korean Sazanka Massage offered just off Sukumvit and of course the foot massage/thai traditional massage offered everywhere to chill & relax you.
For those who like BDSM, Mistress Midori's Dungeon is a must try.
All locations/addresses to these spots can be found in forum posts, it is literally a goldmine for us hobbyists.

The Beergarden on Soi 7 is not closed, at least it was still open last Saturday.

Thank you.[/QUOTE]My experience is that about 50% of the bars will let you smoke. Some you have to be a regular, others will bring you an empty soft drink can to use as an ashtray (if you ask), others just pretend the law doesn't exist.
Most of the bars that have an upstairs will allow you to smoke there.
No one really knows how strictly this new law will be enforced hence the difference between locations. If they decide to enforce it not only does the bar get fined but the smoker as well.
It doesn't really bother me but if it is a big issue for you there are plenty of places.

CM2 is not located in one of the 4 Sofitel hotels in Bangkok but in the basement of the Novotel Siam.
Marc sold the Eden Club quite some time ago. The current owner's name is Bruce.

Never underestimate the power of the Internet. On another board, I got a message from a guy who said he thought he knew who Da was (that isn't the name she goes by in real life) and where she was then working (a straight job, she wasn't doing P4P anymore). In my story, I didn't describe her in much detail and hundreds of TGs have done P4P on an occasional basis, but he said this girl had told him about a farang who took her to Bumrungrad when she had a stomach problem. That's what rang the bell for him. She had mentioned it to him a long time ago in a very matter-of-fact way, so he hadn't had any reason dwell on it.
It turned out Da was actually a friend of his girlfriend, so now we had several degrees of separation involved. But after numerous messages back and forth, which he gave to his GF who relayed them to Da, all of us concluded that she was indeed the girl I had encountered that night on Sukhumvit Road.
At that point, I would have been happy to leave things as they were. My curiosity had been satisfied, there was no reason to attempt to meet her in person. In fact, there was a far more compelling reason NOT to meet her - her new boyfriend. But her friend, the girlfriend of the guy who PMed me, worked very hard to arrange a reunion between Da and myself. Whether it was a sense of romance on her part or if there were more crass considerations (Da not burning all her bridges), I don't know.
Anyway, I refused all suggestions about a face-to-face meeting, but messaged the guy to tell his girlfriend that Da, if she wished, could phone me while I was in Bangkok in November/December of 2007. I gave him my throw-away LOS cell number. We did speak and she was OK. She was in a relationship with a farang who has set her up in a small business. I thanked her kindly, but said that I wasn't planning on getting married again. We wished each well and said good-bye. It was about as good an ending as I could have anticipated ... except, it wasn’t quite over.
Two days before I left for my March trip to LOS, I got an email from Da, asking when I’d next visit Bangkok. That was a bit spooky. I wondered whether it was karma in action or pure coincidence. After thinking about it a few minutes, I decided that the farang who had contacted me about Da, the boyfriend of her friend, had probably read on a LOS board that I would soon be back and told her.
I called her towards the end of my two-week trip. I had neither the time nor the inclination to meet her, but was interested to hear what she had to say. He sponsor had dumped her. So far, she was still making a go of the business he’d given her, but she didn’t know if that would last. In light of her changed circumstances, she was once again entertaining old customers, but trying to avoid new ones. She expressed some disappointment that I “had no time” for her. While it would have been nice to have seen again, my inner voice told me it wouldn’t be a good idea.
Again we said good-bye on an amicable note. I’m beginning to wonder not if I'll see her again but when.

The Beer Garden might have been closed for a very short while during its overhaul last year, but has been in full swing for many months now.

Marc was, and still is, a partner in the Eden Club, but he is not the majority shareholder. He retired in 2006 as the manager and was replaced first by Frances (who passed away at the end of 2006), then by Bruce.

I am no regular at the Eden which I am no fan of but a close friend of mine worked with the Eden team for quite a long time. I usually do not take stuff from the internet for granted. Ne pas tirer de conclusions hâtives Nicolas!
