Airport arrival stats for January and Febuary indicate this is roughly on target. The comment from the doc refers to Bangkok which is more difficult to measure but a conversation I had recently with the owner of the Hillary Group which operates numerous bars and clubs in the Lower Sukhumvit area told me that sales wwere up on a year ago. Perhaps he was referring to traffic to his own corner of the sand box.
