Currently living mostly in Bogota.

For the same level of safety, comfort and quality, Colombia is more expensive. In Campo you are SAFE, the rooms are clean, the girls are good looking with a wide variety, the weather is nice, and you can enjoy a beach vacation at the same time.

Campo is about $30.

In Medellin, you can get a girl at a casa in El Centro for $15, but you have about 20 seconds to make your selection, you can't socialize with her beforehand, the rooms vary greatly in amenities and cleaniness, and the neighorhood is dirty and always has some danger (although much more at night). The girls are about the same, with a few more younger / slimmer girls in Medellin. There are nicer brothels in Medellin, with prices going up to $150 for a quickie in a really nice neighborhood with a nice room. For a vacation, Medellin is interesting for about 3 days, then you have to dig to find things to do (no beach).

Bogota: Santa Fe red light district. Like Medellin El Centro, except that there are lots of options in a small 3 block area, and more dangerous in the daytime than Medellin. Very dangerous as night. Prices vary from $10 for a street girl in front of a short term hotel and up to $150 at a fancy nightclub at night. You do have an opportunity to interact with he girls beforehand. In a nice northern neighborhood, prices start at about $40 and go up without limit depending on the amenities of the venue.

Cartagena: lots of foreign tourists and sailors, can get along with only English, girls are expensive: $80 to $150 or more. Safer, but only if you stick to the main tourist areas and use common sense. Beach is terrible. Old town is wonderful.

Cali: my favorite in Colombia for mongering. But not than many venues to choose from.

Smaller cities have mongering but you mostly need Spanish to find it and negotiate. NO ONE WILL SPEAK ENGLISH.

Service is about the same in Colombia or Campo, but you are more likely to get extra services (BBBJ, etc) in Campo. And if you don't speak Spanish pretty well, you may never even find the mongering places in Colombia. Except in a red light district, they don't have signs.

Everything TheMyooo said in his report is absolutely right on target. I tried another girl the first night (Eva, I believe) who was very pretty, but not very good service, basic, but that's it. As much as I love Latin America, I guess I will stick with the islands for now anyway.

It seems Colombia becomes worthwhile if you are a "full time" monger or live there.

From reading this thread and the beginning of the St Maarten thread, it seems that some of you that have started visiting Colombia do so mainly to visit specific girls. This I can understand and is a different case since you know what you will be getting and it will likely be better / more free outside the professional environment in the islands.

I find it interesting and reasonable that you can get more personal service and extras easier in the islands because the girls are lonely and in big competition with each other.

The part I do not understand is both you and the Colombian guy saying that the same girls cost more in Colombia. Why on earth are they going to the islands then? I would also like to thank you for your candid reports of a year's intro to mongering. It reads like a book. In Colombia there are fewer clients per day and they have to split with the house each client (I suspect). You can get the some of the girls from the islands in Colombia for less money, but the environment can be pretty dirty and ugly. Once I saw a girl I paid $100 to in St Maarten in front of a short time hotel in Santa Fe red light district of Bogta. She asked 25, 000 pesos for short time (about $15) but the time was really short and the bed was really short and I could not even completely stretch out, and the neighborhood is dangerous. To get her for an hour in the same ambience of St Maarten I would have to take her to a motel and pay for a taxi and an hour of her time. Etc. Would easily be $100 or more in the end.

I'm going back for a quick weekend again. Again my advise is to take your time and enjoy the atmosphere and the girls. Clarion.

Does anyone know or recommend these places? Really just looking for a decent, clean place. I'll be spending most of my time out of the room.

Also, since everyone is recommending renting a car, what about when your going to be having drinks in the evening at campo and then have to drive?

This is roughly 5 Km from Campo. Its a good choice if you have a car. It had a small kitchen which comes in handy as the restaurants are really expensive. Think $30. 00 for lunch. The Clarion has bad reviews as being a bit of a dump.

Having a Car is really convenient and highly recommended. Be advised though that the cars come with alarms that are controlled by a remote that is not waterproof. This has repercussions if the remote gets wet and dies. The car key will not open the door and even if you got the car open it wails the alarm till the remote disengages it. You get to deal with the local tow truck outfits that take there sweet time getting to you if you are on a remote beach somewhere. The first question they will ask is if you got the remote wet. If you answer yes then a tow charge applies. Answering no gets them to take the remote apart to see if you are lying. If all is as it is supposed to be they will give you a new battery and let you be on your way. My advice make sure you know how to use the remote and whatever you do, do not get it wet. Better yet demand an extra battery for the thing at the time of rental. It may come in handy. Nothing worse then a car wailing away and feeling helpless to do anything about it.
