Hi,
Is Golden Gate hotel girlfriendly?
Is it possible to arrange there for meeting with girls?
Thanks
This is my first post in ISG since I have been silent reader for a while. Its time to contribute.
Total staying 4 days three days in walkabout and one day in one of guesthouse in 104 st.
Walkabout: pros. 1. Good location close to other clubs like shanghai, dark of heart. 2. 24hours never close always have girls available, relatively safe and food is ok beer is cheap about 75c. The room I was staying is on top floor (a bit of climbing) with window cost $15/day. Check in was very simple just one signature no need passport or filling forms. 3. Girls are cheap, I had three of them only paid $10 each, they always ask for 20 but all agreed if insist on 10. All given BBBJ and diff. Positions last about half hour. Attitude wise is good but not great. I had 1 viet and 2 cam.
Cons. 1. In shitty area dirty and room was very basic, feel not safe but nothing bad happened to me guess I was lucky.
2. Girls looks very average between4-6(my taste). Some of skinny one are clearly on drugs.
Overall its good, convenience for quick cheap fuck regardless of the quality and gfe.
To be continue if I got some response and also happy to answer any questions if I can.
Flamingo did wireless (flamingo is either wireless floor by floor or wired at their downstairs stations) video skype for me last year but the actual "up time" was sporadic. When "up" was OK but seemed to go down midday or so for a couple of hours
I heard that Walkabout Hotel has shortime rooms.
Would you know what they cost?

Walkabout had short-time rooms. I believe they no longer do...pressure from the outside.
Hi,

Thanks
I too am interested in the answer to this question. I asked a little while ago, but the reply I got:
"Golden Gate; it is a masked-out real brothel. Head there if you wish, but remember the rooms are really a mess. Dirty and unsafe."
somehow doesn't tally with the generally glowing descriptions of it on pucka hotel review sites. I am hoping that it is somewhere in-between, ie: a reasonable nice place to stay, that doesn't turn its nose up at girls in rooms.
Does anyone else have anything to say about it?

The WiFi was adequate for VoIP telephony in both cases.
The WiFi signal strength varies widely with the location of the access point in the corridor w. R. T. The room.
In one of the rooms, I actually had a better signal from an AP located on another floor.
In both cases, the quality of the WiFi was way better, than that of the restaurant..
To change the subject:
Right across the street is (or was) a traditional MP, where I had a super looking 4'9" girl expertly help me with very real back problem on 4 consecutive days, both at the shop and in my room.
As my back got better, I tried to obtain "other" services from her but even $50 would not sway her.
Now my question:
Has anyone ever used that MP and succeeded in getting FS?
I believe there are no more short-time rooms at walkabout. Price start from 10/day(no window) to 30/day(top floor with balcony and Jacuzzi).
I have tried 4 times at that MP, had real good professional massage cost 6/h plus 2 tips never ask for FS why bother? FS is everywhere outside of that MP and plus the girls are not that attractive.
i'm no expert on this but -
for internet usage in phnom penh, "hello" cell company has a 3g network with speeds up to 512k (yeah i know, not real 3g). you can send an sms to activate it daily ($2.70) weekly ($18) or monthly ($70) with unlimited usage. i got the info and flyer from their store. i'm using it on a 24 hour basis. so far so good! through out the town it gets questionable and changes from 3g to edge and the speeds slow down. also i went to the store in sorya and they changed my prepaid plan to $0.07 per min to any network which is down from the 0.11 per min it was at.
you can either tether your phone or put the sim in a usb dongle if you have one.

have stayed at flamingo twice. never had a problem as far as the wifi was concerned. worked well in the room and at the bar on the ground floor. guess the speed depends on the number of users too.
Hi,
Was recently down in PP and based on reports here checked out Sharky's the location is okay, got the moto taxi to move around, Sharkys does show its age though the quality of talent is nothing to talk about though. Gave it a pass and moved over to nice pub called the lounge by the riverside had a nice time and skipped pp for P4P altogether, the chaotic traffic and air pollution is really bad, the sad part is the US dollar is the currency, *$! Third world facilities first world prices, Thailand is light years ahead of this place.

i was in flamingo's during mid/end november 09.
my flamingo's wifi exp was similar to yours dinghy, though it was down more than up. i had tried connecting to the different floors but still got the same poor connection speeds. i recall one time where nothing would connect on my laptop so i decided to go out for a wander, in the lobby another guest was surfing the web just fine on the hotel pc's so perhaps if your in a pinch you can risk using their pc's.
the mp over the road has a great mp. nothing else is offered from my several visits. some rooms don't have hot water or it wasn't working.
