I would add don't be fooled by beautiful photos and a series of reviews from reviewers with one or two reviews. Rio is far more cosmopolitan. The working girls are hotter and as has been said over and over again far more sexual. The food is better. The beaches are better (and sexier) and right out your door. No long bus trip or car rental to get to Jaco Beach. I also recommend a day or two of Rio sightseeing for newbies. If you are 30, you might try your hand at clubbing or the famous street parties in Rio.

There are some nice working girls in CR. However, there are many girls who come to Costa Rica from Central America, Colombia and the DR to make a quick buck who don't give a shit about pleasing their male sponsors. Gambling is about the only thing where CR has an advantage. If you enjoy gambling, I would suggest you prioritize that on a separate vacation.

San Jose girls are a little dirtier but not too many lookers in the bunch. The new main joint in San Jose has moved to a new place that also has a casino (don't recall the name but check the Costa Rica threads). And there were and are always more than two options. There was the Sportsmen Lodge (don't know if it's still around). The strip joints with some real hotties available for takeout. And there were a handful of other places around that I tried. But after you had been to San Jose a few times, it wasn't very interesting. And the service level from the girls (mostly Colombian) simply wasn't up to par with what was available standard in Brazil or in Germany. Costa Rica is an easy introduction to mongering for noobs. I'm planning on coming backing to Brazil in either August or September (if things cool down and the lockdowns are gone).

I was aiming for August anyways but it would be cool to see how they celebrate their independence day as well so might look into that! Hopefully things get better by then since the dollar is stronger for exchange rate and looks like since most girls haven't been able to go to the clubs and termas and travel has slowed it's a buyers market!

I came in January and even when I was there it was a bit uneasy. The tvs in the termas had the news on all the time and each time I came it was always bad news. Was risky to go in the first place as other users cancelled their flights. I had a good time and was lucky to have nothing come upon me.

Hopefully 4 months can do a lot of good for everyone in Brazil!
