Of course some of this increase is marked by the fall of Western currencies, but 2k for ST is still 100% more than 10 years ago and beer prices in some gogos are 100% more as well. As few as 7 years ago I would spend about 75 USD for dinner, drinks (more than enough to get a buzz) , BF, ST, and ST hotel. Now it would be about twice that, and the main point; the service level has decreased geometrically. If the girls were better looking, gave better service, the drinks were stronger, etc. But hey, that is not the case is it? Quite the contrary. But hey, it is bad in the West and the new and newish dudes are thrilled just to be getting their the*cks wet in something under 85 kilos in weight.

And to stick your dick in a hole, any hole, any where for less than $100 is cheap.

The most I have paid for LT in Bangkok was 6000 but that was with an exceptionally attractive intelligent woman I met at Mixx who stayed with me till noon next day. Mostly I paid 2500 to 3000. Without sounding too dismissive in my experience the ladies who work BJ bars are on the lower rungs of desirable companions, they may be good for a 30 min experience but paying 5000 to spend time with them sorry not at all "very good value for money".

I have mongered in Bangkok many times, last time a couple of years ago. Reading several reports on prices, here is my take:

- There is no list or fixed price – everything is very easily pleasantly negotiable – most of the time the general policy is 'no valid offer will be refused'.

- I have had 2 great girls for 1500B, singles– 600. 1000B (I mean good – 6-8 types)

Best prices are

- During the day – not too many mongeres

- Or early in the evening. Catch them early for a quick shot / ST – extra money for girl.

- Or late night – desperation sets in.

Go-Go places and MPs are not the best places for prices at least.

Beer Garten (Soi 7/1) – good day place – but availability / quality varies a lot – be patient – buy a drink – for yourself and others – have fun. Wait and watch.

Soi-3 – Around Grace Hotel, the coffee / tea bar in the corner – good for afternoon and early evening pickups, some East Europeans occasionally hang out around here, don't hesitate to ask SWs. Best is the Bamboo bar – plenty of semi-pros – lot of choice – the going rate is 3K all night but again negotiable. (Bamboo bar has a great live band + drinks fairly prices + good late night food (Mediterranean) but about tiny 100B cover). I have got the best chicks from Bamboo bar (7. 9).

Bottom line – do not pay too much, it spoils / distorts market for all. (Also flying to BKK costs plenty).

Attitudes, looks, etc. 2k in '03? Nah, never paid over 1k in the Rainbow bars, back then, even though most gals asked for 1500. Apples to apples Harold, prices were pretty standard in '99 and '03 and for the most part they are today. I was in R4 for the first time in about a year last night about 1030 and must admit I was not that impressed. A few good bodies to be had, but facially (no pun intended) most girls were not that attractive. The ones that I did talk to were not so nice, in a hurry, not so happy that I could speak their language, and add to that the crowd and the bad loud dance music (of course this has always been a feature of the Rainbow bars) ; all in all not so fun. Smiled at one of the better lookers as she returned from a 20 min ST (we were timing gals). Asked "Sanuk mai?" She just scowled. That's really loving your job, eh? Just about sums up much of the GoGo scene these days. If she would have smiled at me, licked her lips, and said something dirty, I would have taken her on the spot.

But it really is all perception. I am sure new guys are thrilled with the scene. Good on 'them.

And yes, it has all increased. Many of the old hags in the BG Soi 7 are asking for 1500. Some even 2k.

You are correct about the supply. With unemployment under 1% fewer and fewer gals go into the "biz." Also gals who speak, read, and write English can do far better on the 'net and hey, who can blame them? Good for them.

Truth be told there are not a whole lot of long term residents that post on forums. Still not sure why I do. That being said, most of the long term residents I know share my opinion. Of course we all grow and change, hopefully. And for many of us the charms of a farm girl with a sixth grade education has worn off a bit; well, if she is a nympho with the skills of a porn star, a great attitude, nice, and a perfect body (not going to get too many perfect faces with Isaan gals) , perhaps not. But the "sort of" good looker who is mediocre in the sack, in a hurry, and not so nice, begins to hold very little charm.

The extended time makes it more attractive for sure but 5000 for Lt with a BJ bar girl with all the other possibilities available on the FL scene.
