Hotel damage Prices
I doubt that the guy actually did that much damage unless the room looked like the scene the day after in Las Vegas from the "Bachelor Party" movie but they can pretty much charge what they want when you are caught in that kind of compromising position and he was probably too scared to negotiate the price.
Prices are listed in the room, and are normally between 5 and 10 times the store price, ie 32" flat screen tv 28,000 rmb, buy it in SH, 2,800 rmb!
go figure!

Back in the day
I miss the days of Mao Ming Lu Saturday nights when the streets were full like a mardi gras. I miss the times when I could walk in any given direction and discover streets with pink lights and scores of sexy girls. I miss the days when being a foreigner was a mind blowing novelty for Chinese girls rather than just just a ticket to money. I miss the old markets and the crazy vibe that place had. Miss the days when phillipino's had not yet saturated the market. I miss the days before the Olympics and Expo.

AS hotels are made to stay and sleep and not for smashing furnitures and content, no wonder they over price damages.
Not to mention that some damages might force the hotel not to rent the room for the days needde to repair.
So 112.000rmb can easuiy be equaly to some 8 or 10 nights wothout accounting the real damages (carpets etc)
Might look steep, but one has to pay for his own msitakes

Unless you actually saw MaoMing Lu in all it's glory - you just would not understand - a warm night - literally hundreds of w.hores just for the picking - heaven on earth.
And throw the fucking Vietnamese into the equation with the Pilipinos - damn Manhattan nowadays not a shadow of it's former past.
Remember Judys and Manhattan on MaoMing Lu - wall to wall Chinese, Russian and a sprinkling of Mongolian - damn I loved those bars - damn I miss those bars.

Just Checking
Hi Guys,
Read through the reports and it seems like Shanghi Hotel Sauna is back open. An old favourite of mine.
Anyway i want to introduce my friend to a guarenteed Red Rope experience.
Can anyone confirm for sure where we would be guarenteed to get this. We are both guilos and my Mandarin is limited so its hard to ask for it ;-)
Hailang Club seem another option, although I have no idea where/how far this is.
Any sauna doing both soapy and red rope as part of the one service?
Thanks Jon
PS to the guys reminicising about the good ol days re Mao Ming Lu. I lived in Shanghai in 1998 can anyone remember a small bar/club underground (literally) that only got going in early hours of the morning and you would stumble out at 7am??
Standard operating procudeures was go start at Malones, when Malones closed on to Judys Too, then when Judys closed it was on to this bar/club I cant recall the name of and its driving me mental! I will know it as soon as someone says the name.

One I know for sure which does the soapie and red ropes is the Love Hotel at Wuzhong Lu and Hongshu Lu. It's adjacent to the Sky Fortune Hotel on the 9th Floor of the building. Go to Sky Fortune Hotel, walk behind it and then turn right when you see the Sky Fortune Spa. It's the building on the right and you'll see a lift lobby which says about a spa on the 9th floor. They have rooms which have the red rope so you need to ask for those rooms.
Hope that helps.
Address is 219 Nujiang Road, near Jinshajiang can get full service (as long as you can last).
I went here today at lunch.
The good:
- easy to find as per WAW's directions
- fairly safe
- cheap (250rmb total)
- rooms plain but clean, large bed, clean shower
- FS, BBBJ
The bad:
- not many girls there at lunchtime and not super attractive
- girls just wear plain clothes, no feeling of eroticism to the place
- found it hard to get taxi out of there
the girl I had:
- from Chengdu
- massive breasts 6
- average face and body 5
- good attitude though 7
Maybe there's more ladies at night. Really not much to pick during the day. I could have chosen a better looking girl who was slim but I haven't touched big breasts in a while so I choose miss busty. Her breasts big but maybe a little too firm. Her BJ skills average and just 1 pop. Nothing to write home about bit she was nice personality. Not shy and not rushed.
The place is halfway between a BBS and a sauna. For the price, a lot more enjoyable and private than a scungy BBS and you can shower afterwards. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again but it's encouraged me to look harder around other areas for a similar style of place.
Cheers

Johnny Wynne the club from 1998 you are thinking of was probably DiDi's.

It was either DD's or later, YY's.
YY's still exists, but only as a bar/pub.
