Here I've been enjoying the DR, the people, Sosua and its chicas for 6 years now. I even have a regular GF from another distant part of the Island.

Our resident Dr. Phil has regularly called me ignorant, stupid, and a bunch of other uncharitable stuff.

Maybe he can help me find out how I fucked up so badly. LOL.

After all, look at all those poor misguided "buddies" he has straightened out. Seems every week a new one.

Been here a few days. After an absence of 4 years. Not much has really changed, some places closed, some new places opened; still lots of chicas in various bars and on the street. I've tapped a couple already with my usual results, some are OK some are less than. I find the sex fairly mechanical, not much kissing or GFE, maybe I'm just getting to be too old, but it's still fun. Most of the ladies start at "dos mil" (2000RD) but will eventually accept 1500 for the short time. After I nut they bounce out of bed to the shower and put their clothes back on. I think the older chicas give better service than the really young ones.

I'm taking pics with my cell but don't have service here so will post more when I am back home.

I am amused by the police walking around (with Centaur or similar on their backs) and the chicas all quickly disperse for a few minutes then come back to their spots after they're gone. Funny.

Seems my first post was lost in the ether, so here we go again.

Back on the ground in Sosua after a 4 year absence. Not much has changed....some places closed new places opened. Best chica hunting is in the new sports bar (Rumba's??)....chicas all start at 2000 RD but most will eventually accept 1500 RD. Service is pretty average, somewhat mechanical.....not much kissing or GFE, maybe I am getting too old, but it's still fun. There are a LOT of chicas out at night, plenty of choices in the bars and on the street....funny to see them disperse when the cops with CESTUR written on their backs sweep through. Funny.

Here for a few more days, will post pics when I am back home as my cell phone does not work here.

Additionally I think his points have to be filtered because what works for him might not work for you. For me, I travel to have fun and I don't let a few dollars stop me from enjoying myself. Each guy has to live their life as they see fit so if you haven't figured out who you are by the time you have reached middle age, maybe you never will. Now with dealing with foreign chicas each guy will learn different lessons but the overall theme is that it's your vacation and your money so make yourself happy.

What's up people?

First time poster here. I am thoroughly entertained by some of the posts and responses and thank you for the tips. I am coming to the north part of the island on Jan 17 for a few days over the MLK Jr. Weekend. I will have a car and am driving from Santiago to Sosua at around 11 am on Saturday morning. Just wanted to check if anybody wanted a ride to the area? This is my 4th time in Puerto Plata and I have driven every time. I feel comfortable getting around and dealing with the Dominican traffic laws (what laws)?

I don't have a history of INITIATING calling people names or making personal attacks. Anything of a sort, if you got that from me, it happened after you initiated exactly that towards me, and I gave you back what you dished. But with a spin on it. I'm not responsible for your feelings, if you don't like me holding my own. As I recall, I usually seek feedback and ask questions to get information before I make gross assumptions. Most times, people ignore answering what I ask. However, that approach is so that I have a firm grasp of someones point of view.

That practice usually elicits major defenses from people who have trouble explaining, supporting or defending their POV. Or they never gave their POV much thought, because they are usually responding based on their feelings, moreso than a principle they are defending. As a result my approach is embraced as a personal attack, by certain types of individuals. Answering my inquiries honestly, one pays the price of possibly not looking too good on the issues. Or exposing something not too flattering. Why else would some of you resort to personalizing the discussion, instead of dealing with the things that were said. All you have to do is show me where what I said, has no credibility, completely false, or never applies. Nobody ever does that. But you are free to do that at any time. Instead, look how you represent your discord or disagreement. What does that say about you in comparison to someone else who is expecting and appreciates s a better representation in a debate/discussion?

And that's one reason why you and me are where we are today. I don't require any buffoonery or buddying up. Common sense speaks for itself. It's humble and quiet.

Pedro Clisante is open open again to auto parking and traffic at night. Cars can park on the street but motoconchos can't. Motoconchos can drive thru without stopping or waiting for customers. So there are no more tables and chairs in the streets.

Seems as though they should of only been shutting down a portion of the street say from Latinos down to Rumbas instead of all the way down to the Playero market. Maybe the businesses where hurting with the street shutdown and wanted it re-opened. It was nice having it closed down at night.

Mopeds, motorcycles and scooters on the other hand may drive through the street, but may not park in the street. Hence the motoconchos may not wait in the street at the disco for their customers. The restaurant and bar owners can no longer place their tables and chairs in the street.

Almost everyone was used to it and it got cozier and busier in the closed street every evening. Many of the restaurant and bar owners are angry and disappointed by this decision of the municipality. Who is behind this decision is unclear. No one can tell who or what made the municipality change its mind and decide to keep the road open again for traffic. Sosúa seemed to be friendlier and more attractive to the family tourist. But for this decision, the Pedro Clisante, the nightlife street of Sosúa, is again less pleasant to stay for the tourist. ".
