What you pay and everything else is different in Brazil. Go to a DR Casa and tell me you got GFE. I just checked flights to Rio 1200 including the visa. That is what I pay for a week in Sosua.

Checked online I saw that renting a car from the airport (compact car) can be had for about $20/ day. How much did you pay I understand that the $20 is the base price not including insurance. I do not have a credit card which includes car insurance so I guess I would have to pay more. Or can I just rent the car for the $20 with some type of hold on it on the credit card.

They met me at the airport with the car and took me to there office in Sosua. I rented the smallest car they had which was about $ 35 a day including all insurance with no deductible. While doing the paperwork I pointed out some minor dents in the fenders and they said not to worry about it as everything was covered 100 %. In other words I guess I could wreck the car and have no out of pocket expenses. When I showed up at their office I gave them my passport which they made a copy of and a credit card and told hem I would be paying cash. They took the money and didn't even bother swiping my card. I could of rented a car for cheaper but with the 100% deductible and free pick up and drop off at he airport upon my departure I don't think you canbeat that. You should try to avoid using a credit card if you can when renting a car, and if anyone tells you have to leave your Passport walk out! Good Luck.

What a gaggle this afternoon in Sosua. La Policia set up a DR style check point at the intersection on the Strip between the Bermuda Bar and Rumbas. The police began randomly pulling over all Moto-Concho drivers not wearing Helmets, (Cosco I think in Spanish). They also had some flatbed trucks which held about 20 Moto-Conchos each that they where loading the Moto-Conchos onto and hauling away. It appeared as though not all of the drivers not wearing helmets Moto-Conchos were taken. Those had to be the ones with some dinero in their pockets that they gave to the cops. There where groups of drivers whose Moto-Conchos were taken that where pretty distraught over all of this. Some where in tears as it seems as though they might not ever get them back.

Now I laugh to myself as I patrol around Sosua knowing a little or a lot about many of the fixture chicas in Sosua. Not that I had them all, but enough of them. What also helped is the gathered intel from many mongers willing to share their knowledge or experiences.

Whats also interesting, is how many of the chicas are inter connected with each other. Depending on what happens with one chica may reflect on how the other chicas in her posse relate to you. Dudes are watched and studied by posses of chicas, all day and night. Thats why I don't like to rush or be too hasty grabbing a chica. I like to give them time to run their sales pitch if they have one. I prefer seeking out the fresher, less tainted appearing chicas. The ones that are less business like.
