Finally decided to check it out.

If you are staying in Sukhumvit area there are plenty of Indian restaurants serving north and even south indian food. There is Dosa king where you can get good idlis and dosas. So there is no need to carry any food with you.

Visa on arrival is pretty simple process. I would recommend that you download the visa on arrival application form and keep it filled and ready to be handed over to at the counter alongwith 1000 THB in cash. It takes approximately 15-30 minutes to get visa stamped depending on the rush. Absolutely no hassles.

Change bare minimum currency at the airport as the rates they offer are pathetic. Just change enough to clear immigration and taxi fare. Rest you can exchange at the numerous money changers in the city to get better value.
