I went to Sanur last night, and thought I would give Putri a whirl. As I arrive at the flea pit on the other side of the by pass, everything was dark. I still went for a walk around, there were 2 girls, both told me the place is closed and won't open again until November 30. Now I know today is a very big Muslim holiday, but to close until the 30th seems a bit off. All the X houses on Danau Poso were also closed.
I don't think they are all closed. I went to 41X around 4 pm yesterday and the guy did bring a girl, but did tell me that there were fewer than usual.
By the way: I had gone to Angels a little earlier, but there were only 4 girls there and more importantly, the doors to the rooms had been removed and were substituted with curtains that don't really shut off the view from outside very reliably.
They told me they are going to do some renovations over the next few weeks and then there will be doors again. They did offer a room in the back that does have a door, but I didn't like the looks of the room and declinined, to try my luck in Sanur.

With the girls out of work and not making money for a month or so, they're happy to pay whatever bribe money is asked. With us 'wanking our willie' for a month or so are happy to have the cost passed over to us. The same technique the Pertamina's use here before petrol prices go up.

Flea Pit Nusa Dau
The flea pit Nusa Dua. 22 years old Tea stay in the warung with the pink fence on the main street. Up side is she is a good suck and friendly. But was little drunk. Down side is she has bad stretch marks.
Cost RP 100, 000. Nice empty and on with the rest of my day. Remember it is a real flea pity for locals. The locals pay 50, 000 and they sit round getting drunk. Lot of girls are scared of bule. Angels and Sanur are better.
Places. Any other names of girls from angels? Its been closed and only a few girls at angels lately.
Happy Happy hunting in Bali.

Angel
Coming back from Jimbaran yesterday decided to pop in Angels just for a look, about 7pm still closed. Next door at Mawar was one girl who said there is only one more girl and we want go home. They were both well below average, very Ibu-ish I have never seen a decent girl at Mawan it seems Angel has a far better recruitment policy!

Sanur . . .
I was just there last night and went to a kost (rental room) of a girl I know and she says that the word on the street is one more week. As we all may be chomping at the bit, I'm not sure if that means the last day of this month or the first day of next. I think Einstein used this example for the 'relativity of time'.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger!
However the statement that "One in four Bali prostitutes is HIV positive" comes right out of left field and is not as reported in the Berita Bali report quoted by many other news media.
The following is from Family Health International, Country Office for Indonesia http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20522622
I've got no idea what they mean by "direct" and "indirect" hookers. The figures are as well researched as you'll find. Have a look at a book by Elizabeth Pisani, called "The Wisdom of *****s" for a bit on how they collect them. It's a fun read, by the way, and available at airport bookshops.
HIV prevalence averaged 10.5% among direct and 4.9% among indirect FSW, and had increased steadily among direct FSW from 2002 to 2007. Prevalence of chlamydia, gonorrhoea and active syphilis averaged 35.6%, 31.8% and 7.3%, respectively, among direct FSW, and 28.7%, 14.3% and 3.5% among indirect FSW. Being a direct FSW, younger age and having current infection with syphilis and gonorrhoea and/or chlamydia were associated with a higher likelihood of HIV infection. Number of clients in the past week and consumption of alcohol before having sex were associated with a higher likelihood of gonorrhoea and/or chlamydia infection, while having received a STI clinic check-up in the previous 3 months and/or periodic presumptive treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the past 6 months were associated with reduced likelihood of infection.

sanur
I just wonder whether the HIV statistic & the Sanur closure are related.
it isn't in Bali's interest to be known as a HIV hotspot.
maybe when we see these places reopen it will be covered everything. no more BB nothing.
could it be that the closure is the authorities way of trying to force compliance.
time will tell.

There is no connection. The cops closed down the Sanur places to show their control and raise the graft, which will be passed along to us. I was once told that they get about 10,000 rps ($1 USD) per girl per night, this could be wrong, but that's what i was once told. Years ago i was in the Kuta police station to fill out some paperwork regarding a missing airline ticket, the chief of police pointed to a guy that just walked in and then showed me a blackboard with his name on it and how much he brought in that month in corruption money. Telling me this guy was his 'biggest earner". Just like a scene out of the "Sopranos". Stop applying western values and morals to places like this and you'll understand it more easily.
I just wonder whether the HIV statistic & the Sanur closure are related.

Just walk around and you will know what I'm talking about. You will find alot more couples and families than single men.
The only place that sticks out in my mind where all you see are single men wandering about is probably AC.

Two or one
apologies are in place here, since i have been sending 'some' of you guys into the woods with a measely bone and no real treat. i went back to this place, and got lost myself. it appears that my memory of this bungalow thing was letting me down. (at that time i went there with a driver).
turns out this place was not in kebo iwa, but the street before that, a little gang. it's still at the end of the road, just before gatsu. the only (big) mistake i made was that it is the gang next to the kimia farma.. (giving a better road sign to make up)
i'll through in google maps to make up for my failed directions.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=nl&geocode=&q=bali,+jalan+kebo+iwa&sll=-8.790547,115.205931&sspn=0.009924,0.01929&g=bali,+kebo+iwa&ie=utf8&hq=&hnear=jalan+taman+kebo+iwa,+benoa,+kuta,+badung,+bali,+indonesi%c3%ab&ll=-8.638686,115.181909&spn=0.019857,0.038581&t=p&z=15
you need to go into tunjung sari, the road next to kebo iwa.. then, at the last t-split, there it is..
so when you add it all up, greencheeze reports and indoholiday it seems there are actually two places there near kebo iwo? so what is bebek bengil? i guess the best way to investigate is to go to area and jump on a locals moto and tell him you want some action in all of bali in all the reports i have read in any forum of any country this area of subject is by far without peer the most confusing of any it is almost as if someone that goes there without them knowing it experiences a psychedelic trip that leaves them speechless and foggy unable to recall if there experience there was sexual or not. when the prospects of bandung girls in one establishment is hinted at imagination can run wild. i drove down kebo iwo weeks ago and did see cafe bidodari, nothing else. now that the adjacent small gang has been mentioned another visit may be in order. another sanur house has opened next to dian ayu, 14a possibly trying to escape the heat (polisi). anyone been to any of the massage parlors mentioned on indoholiday? went to puri asih on jl. gurita off sesetan the other day. total miss, hags. you never know what youll find in these establishments evidenced by the wisata bali experience. jalan cargo looks like it has a couple massage parlors there (denpasar)

Jijjy Is right in saying that there is no connection between shutting up Sanur X houses and a few other venues with the so-called 1 in four HIV statistics.
The truth is that Bali has a quite new Police Chief Insp. Gen. Hadiatmoko, who replaced his predecessor General Sutisna because Sutisna was seen to be unable to get on top of the protection rackets involved in the Seminyak, Legian, and Kuta nightclub scene, which resulted in a man being murdered at The Red Room a couple of months back (perp still at large)
Hadiatmoko has done no better, so the scuttlebutt is that he has turned to "suppressing immoral behaviour" as evidence that he's on top of things. It's a ploy used by every police commander in Indonesia when he feels he's coming under scrutiny.
In addition, Hadiatmoko is a captive to one of the harder line Muslim political parties who would much rather that illicit sex was rooted out than corruption, extortion, fraud, etc etc. (One government minister said that the recent tsunami and volcanic eruptions were because God was angry at all the porn available in Indonesia.)
Finally, the various public order departments love rounding up hookers because they score free fucks or bjs to go easy on them.
It'll all be back to normal in week or so, since no tricks means no pay offs so cops' incomes are suffering.
