I did 2 quick tours during 2 different days (of course, during the daytime).
Most of the action is on Carrera 53, between Calle 51 & Calle 52.
This scene is not my cup of tea. I didn't pick up, but I like to look. Most of the girls were below average. A few decent ones. The 2 "diamonds in the rough" I saw were of dubious age. I guess that's the way it goes.
I didn't see any police walking on Carrera 53. There are many police on the other side at Botero Plaza, where the "normal" people are.
Hint: If you don't want to walk in that area, you can buy a ticket to Museo de Antioquia. It was 18 K COP foreign entrance fee. It has a nice Botero wing (the guy that paints fat people / animals). Then from there you can go to a patio on the outside at the corner, and look at part of the street scene from the comfort of the museum's security. It was an interesting scene. I saw a SW dry humping a potential customer, a SW sniffing glue. Very interesting.

And I card the young looking ones. I've never seen cops there also although they do sometimes stand on the corner of carr 53 and calle 52. I suspect they know that blocks smells like paperwork. LOL.

After the arrest of Jake in El Centro, the police are keeping eyes on gringos in the area and told some gringos to leave the area immediately. Though gringo guys do not know, they really stand out at Botero / Veracruz area.
