introduction 1: i'm a 35-year-old european guy, who has been travelling to bkk for short time stays in the last 3 years, and is now living in the los. i read more than ipost, but i read a lot (i'm on the forum everyday). when i posted my previous 'guide', it was the result of a few short stays in the city, and i made some mistakes. giotto, in particular, was nice enough to correct them.

introduction 2: this guide is intended for newbies only. i know that there's much more to experience in bkk than what i'm going to recommend. i know that it's possible to top some (many?) of my recommendations. my intention only is to give some pointers to someone who's in bkk for a few days and for the first time. of course, if you get to enjoy the city for a longer amount of time, you'll have a chance to discover other and probably better options.

introduction 3: i'm sorry in advance for the writing quality of what is about to follow, as english is not my native language.

ok, so here we go.

general tips

1. you can (and should) get anywhere using the skytrain (bts) : rush hour in bkk (7am until. 9pm!) is so bad that you will want to avoid being stuck in traffic. when looking for a hotel, definitely choose one that's walking distance to the bts, in the 'prime sukumvit' area. that's chitlom until ekamai (type bangkok bts map on google if you don't know what i'm talking about). the heart of the mongering action is going to be at nana, asoke and phrom pong. 80% of the places you heard about or read about on this forum are walking distance to one of theses bts stations.

2. look for online maps: it's very easy to get lost in bkk. and at the same time, most massage / go go places are very close to one another. again, type the search in google, it'll help you out a lot.

3. learn how the street names work: if you follow rule number 1, you will stay close to sukumvit. that's a huge bvd dividing the city in two. north of it are odd numbers. south of it are even numbers. so if you're trying to get to sukumvit soi 7 (soi = street) , you're going to want to go to a street north of the bvd and perpendicular to it.

4. choose your hotel: there are hundreds of hotels in that area. you can find a hotel for less than 1000 bath (25 euros) a night to over 6000 baths (150 euros) a night. i used to stay at the phachara suites, which is bynana bts, and is a service apartment hotel with prices going from 2000 bath to 3200 baths.

mongering tips.

1. go go bars: go go bars are places that are open from 7pm to 2am where 10 to 80 girls dance on stage. entrance is free but you're expected to get a 70 (happy hour).150 baths drink (depending on the place and the time you go). it's a great way to start if you're a newbie in bkk for many reasons: axxxxxx / time: you can order a drink, sit back and relax, no one is going to be very pushy bxxxxxx / looks: if you've been to 3 go go bars, you've seen about 100 thai girls, and you can have a sense of what thai hookers look like, and what particular style does if for you. this will be helpful later on when you're picking up a girl in a massage place, because you will know the hotness level you can expect and be able to make the right choice of girl with less time to make it cxxxxxx / choice: the go go bars are in 3 separate areas in the city (see below) but in each area, there at 12 to 30 bars. don't spend an hour in one bar. just go from one to the other, have a drink in each one, and leave when your beer's empty. only stay if you really like a girl that's in the particular bar you're in dxxxxx / mood: i found it a good way to get the mood of the city, chatting with tourists, mamasans, and random girls during their dancing breaks (who by the way are used to having a guy flirt with them for 15mn and leave it there, so take your time!)

once you did find your dream girl, tell the mamasan (you will know who) , she will have the girl sit with you for a chat. you pay a ladydrink (150 bath) , and have some time to decide if you want to go for her or send her back dancing. if you choose to 'take her', you have to pay the barfine (600 bath) and then you have two options. spend 1 hour with her in a room nearby (usually right above the bar) or take her out for part of or the entire night. in addition to the barfine. 1 hour will cost 300 bath for the room (if you prefer not to take her to your hotel) + about 2000 bath for the girl. that's one pop. long time will cost from 3000 to 4000 bath and you can keep the girl until the next morning around noon. multiple pops aloud. be aware that prices can be more expensive if you look like an unexperienced tourist, that what i'm stating is the maximum you should be willing to pay.

there are 3 places with go go bars in bkk, and each place has many of them.

a. patpong (not in the prime sukumvit are – bts sala deng) : 2 parallel streets with a night bazaar in the middle of them and bars, go go bars and ping pong shows (sexual show: go there once if it sounds fun to you, but not worth spending more than 45mn in there). patpong is the historical sexual center, thus looks old and run down. everyone looks sad, girls dance in bikini tops and shorts, i found it to be a bit depressing. if you have a chance to go to nana or soy cowboy, i wouldn't even bother going to patpong. if you do, only go to bada bing and pink panther.

b. soy cowboy: 1 street full of go go bars. about 20 different bars. 50% dance in bikini top and bottom. 30% topless and 20% fully naked. depends on the bar rather than on the girl, so take a quick look inside and leave if what you see is not your thing. best bars imo: baccara (probably the most famous go go in bkk – 2 level with a glass floor allowing you to watch under the girl's skirt if you're on ground level – a japanese favourite) , tillac and sharks.

c. nana square:. more bars than any other place (50% bikini. 25% topless. 25% fully nude. best bars imo: rainbow 4 (the biggest place, the 1st one to be crowed, but not my personal favourite) , spankys (not the best looking girls, but fun – girls spank each other with some sort of plastic tube that doesn't hurt but that makes a hell of a noise. you can also spank them yourself, and even buy the tube. there's also a shower in the bar with 2-3 girls showering together and soaping each other up) , billboard (3 to 6 girls naked taking a batch in a huge jacuzzi with 20+ hot girls dancing on stage) and angel witch (hard rock music and lots of sexual shows).

watch out for the ladyboy go go bars. the information is somewhere on the web (can't recall where) but it's actually quite easy not to be mistaken: if a girl you pass by is very tall and very aggressive with you, groping you and stuff, it's probably a boy. if a go go bar is very empty and the girls wear shorts, just leave.

2. massage places.

a – sex : i'll make it easy for you: the most popular ones are cherry, mango and ez (again, imo). they are all right at phrom pong bts, and all have websites. make your selection online, call ahead if you want and go for it. you will pay from 2000 to 3000 bath all inclusive, depending on what you ask for, how long you want to girl for and if it's an incall or an outcall.

b – soapie: you have to try a soapie at least once in your life. they are a few (but not a lot) places offering soapie. the most famous one and to my knowledge the only one in the prime sukumvit area is annies. there's a dedicated thread on the forum just for that place. 2500 all inclusive for 90mn. bts nana. it's a bit run down, some people don't like it, but just read the thread and decide if it's your thing.

c- blow jobs : 3 places in the prime sukumvit area: dr bj (bts nana, soi 7/1) , [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900][CodeWord900][/url] (bts nana, soi 8) , lollipop (bts asoke or nana, soi 10).800 bath for a blowjob. the girls are way less attractive than in any place mentioned before (and most of them a quite ugly) , but if they were better looking, they would do more than just give blowjobs all day. some of them are quite good at it, some of them are just plain mechanical. it's a hit or miss. i find it to be a good place to start with when you go out, so that you're not fully loaded and thus more patient in choosing the right girl in places where you will pay and expect more.

d – freelancers: you will find a lot in the areas mentioned above. it'll cost you from 1000 bath to 3000 baths, but people who live here don't usually pay more than 2000 bath. you can find them everywhere. in case you want to find them in clubs, go to soi 11 (nana bts) , a street with 5 clubs and 20+ bars. climax is an all freelance place (a lot of go go girls who didn't find a farang before 2am go there) , bash is the next best thing for mongering only. you will find better looking but more expensive freelancers at levels, bed superclub and q bar (all in the same street) that welcome a majority of expacts. you can also just party and have a good time.

3. everything else!

there are so many areas and options i did not mention, but again, it's a guide intended to newbies with no idea about the city and very little time to monger. please feel free to correct me or to add anything to this post. i'm sure long time mongers will have different opinions. i'm only posting this because i would have loved to find something like this when i first came to bkk – i hope it'll help some people out. pm me if you want to hang out or if you want a private tour of the action. i'm usually free and mongering on mondays and wednesdays.

Last year or the year before I saw Clapton and the Eagles perform in concert in the same week. Like relaxing at the beach? Thailand has lots of those. Or trekking around. Go up north. Like to hang out in airconditioned malls and drink coffee and do some girl watching. Bangkok has the best malls and the prettiest girls in them of any place I have ever been. I took up pool a few years ago. More pool tables than you can count and always a willing girl to let you look good. Snooker is around as well. I am not a golfer but I know there are tons of golf courses around with young girl caddies. Grocery stores may not be what they are back home but they are good enough.
