In your "Redlight block-Medellin Colombia-VeraCruz block #2" video there is a girl leaning on the wall that smiles as you pass to the staircase with your girl. She is a little doll. Those streets look relatively normal to me, not as scary as I imagined. I like that for watching your videos a few times I could know if I'm on course or veering off on blocks that aren't the heart of the RLD. Great videos. +1.

Then I spend a long time on Google Street view figuring where that was based on buildings in the background, then mapped a safe route from my hotel there. LOL.

I also read the last 500 pages of the MDE thread on this site, then read back a further 500 pages before my 2nd trip if anybody wants to know how I seem to know my way around for someone who's only been there twice. LOL. That took me back about 6 years which I figured was enough + about a week looking at Streetview to avoid bad looking areas and to recognize Casa's entrances and the strip clubs. Yes I like to do my research.

Out of curiosity, just went back 10 years in reports, and it seems the chica prices in Colombian pesos has basically been flat. I understand the dollar has fluctuated in value, but chica prices seem to have remained flat. Still I guess the 20 mil por media days are numbered.

Can't imagine what it was like 10+ years ago, was there even a metro back then?

And it also comes down to what sort of foreigner they make you as. Are you are clueless tourist or a gringo slumming it living down there on a budget? For a time this was about 150 k to 200 k but that's changed to being closer to 300 k. This goes for Colombians abroad in places like Panama City. It is rare to see them turn down 100 USD. Most will still go for 150 k to 200 k. I think the reason is it is still a lot of money for an hours work along with the fact that life is fucking poor in Colombia for most people. I've met prepagos who have built an entire life out of hooking; they do it both in and out of Colombia for a good stretch of time and save up well.

Local prices for locals still start around 30 k to 60 k depending on where you are. I guarantee you, you could find for less but that's cheap enough I think, hahaha.

If you compare this to Brazilian hookers its not too far off their price point but they have considerably higher priced hookers in much more expensive and nicer places (some of the hooker night clubs in Sao Paolo can easily cost you 200-300 USD with food + drinks + hooker). Those kinds of prices haven't been seen in Colombia unless you're a sucker who just wants to flash more money and pay more. And that's fine if you are.

There are places like Club Gusto in Parque Lleras where hookers will try to get 200 USD for short time. I've seen visitors there pay it without blinking an eye.

The cable part that goes up into the hills and the barrio had recently opened. The rest of the system was about ten years old then. So I think maybe 1996 or thereabouts, was when it opened. Somebody else can google that one, but it's been around for a while. Buenos Aires had the first subway system in South America, I do believe.
