I was planning to go in December / January, but ended up going to Colombia instead since they didn't require a PCR test at the time. Unfortunately, I was only there for about a week this time since the mayor of Bogota put in some pretty stringent restrictions. But I digress.

I did some significant RTFF (well over a hundred pages worth), read reports of distinction, and Bubba's Guide so I don't really have any questions to bother you gentlemen with. I will provide trip reports like I usually do on my Colombia trips.

The plan: Fly into SP then connect on over to Rio. Will start out in Ipanema to get a lay of the land for a few days, then head over to Copa, and possibly Barra later on as I figure things out on ground. I will spend the mornings / afternoons relaxing, reading, and drinking beers. The late afternoons and early evenings will be dedicated to the hobby. As per VB's recs, I will probably spend some time at the pool of Transamerica as well. After 10 days or so I'll likely head over to SP and stay for as long as necessary to compare the two cities. And of course visit Scandello. Depending on how I'm feeling / which city I like best, I'll either head back to Rio or stay in SP.

The women: There's probably some interesting psychoanalysis that can be done on me as a black man with an almost exclusive preference for brancas. In Colombia I have a good time but usually (read: only) go for women with a lighter skin tone than myself, and I'm already pretty light skinned for a black man. Therefore, I will be looking for big booty brancas / light skin morenas in my adventures. I plan to hit all the spots talked about here. Termas through (centro included), prives, and online from BarraVIP, etc. I've used SA and tinder in Colombia in the past with significant success, but it doesn't sound like there's much traction for that in Rio / SP, so will likely stick to what I've read about here.

Budget: I'm planning to be pretty thrifty as far as lodging goes so that I can spend more on the extracurriculars. I've read a lot of interesting posts about top shelf brancas vs. What you can find at places like VM so I'm curious to make the comparisons for myself and report back here just for another data point. If I spend less than 500 are a day on mongering, that'll be good for me. But, if I'm ordering from BarraVIP just for the sake of convenience then I imagine I'll find myself reaching that number pretty quickly. Looking at about 7000 USD or so for roughly 40 days on ground.

Misc: Working on getting Prep here in the US and my god it is an annoying, frustrating, and expensive process. Some board members have previously recommended it and even though I don't participate in BBFS, the tight booty holes of the big butt brancas are calling my name even as I type.

While I don't have questions and am not soliciting for advice, feel free to critique my plan as necessary if it suits your fancy. I have two basic comments. I'm sure you are going to take some time to do the touristy stuff. Rio is an interesting city and a few days of touring during the day are very cool. A perfect day for a Rio newbie could be Corcovado (Christ Statue), the modern cathedral, the Lapa arches and perhaps lunch up in the old Santa Teresa neighborhood. Then top it off with Termas 4 x4 at the end of the day.

As far as moving from Ipanema to Copacabana, that might be unnecessary. They are so close to each other I don't see the need. I have stayed near the Arpoador rocks. That is the bottom of the V separating Copa and Ipanema. The closer you stay to the point of the V the easier it is to just walk across to the other beach. The hip area of Ipanema Beach is close to Arpoador. Just a suggestion.

As far as going all night long when I was young, do naps count? There was a lot of bonking and short naps. Then there was the naps on the beach. Of course, the beach weather will be limited during the shorter, cooler days coming up.

I'd start in Copa since this is your first time, but you have 40 days and plan on perusing the pool at TA anyway, so why not start there and see how you like it?

Now $7 K for 40 days. Is that your total budget, including lodging and food and everything? Might be a little tight, IMHO.

And like WyattEarp suggests: do some obligatory touristy stuff. It would be a shame to spend 40 days in Rio without doing Corcovado, Sugarloaf and a Centro walk at least.

Came in Brazil before they were asking for PCR bullshit but ok not big of a hussle to do it if needed.

I liked Rio much better but maybe because in SP they had lockdown for weekends.

7 k is more then enough as Brazil is cheaper then Columbia from my experience (Bogota and Cartagena).

Try to find some non pro so will keep costs well bellow 7 k but be aware that Cariocas are (com muito ciumes) very possessive and jealous.

And yeah I agree we all pay for sex in same way of form.

If you find normal girl then expect to be paying with your time, attention lifestyle.

Be aware also of big traffic jams around Barra (don't book apartment from which you can not walk to beach).

I plan to visit Brazil again somewhere between late June. August.

After kicking around for a few days I think I've got the lay a the land. Here are a few thoughts.

Copacabana- is more grunge and chaotic than I had imagined. Don't get me wrong, the beach is amazing, but as you make your way in a couple streets you begin to see the character of the city. For hobbyists used to a clean, organized American city etc, it will disappoint. It's not immediately logical how to function on the day to day- but certainly can be done. It feels safe enough- don't be an obvious tourist and advertise yourself as a target and you should be fine. Don't accept fliers from guys walking at night on the beach area with no one else around. Don't get fall down drunk and stagger around. I felt fine walking from club to club at night and would feel silly taking a taxi from one to the other. That being said there was a major fracas at 4 am last night outside my window with drunken brawlers and broken car windows that lasted a good 25 minutes before they were chased off. Wouldn't want to walk up on that. The shady characters that are obvious are less dangerous than the shady characters that aren't.

Leblon- I like to walk so yesterday walked from Leblon to Atlantico to see la terre with my own eyes. As mentioned, Leblon is well appointed, clean, safe, expensive. Airbnb's reflect this. If you want an experience "similar" to Santa Monica or Leguna Beach, stay here.

Ipanema- I will be headed to an airbnb there next, it seems like a great mix- organized and clean enough to operate daily tasks, but not so well-heeled as Leblon. There's a nice Starbucks where I can imagine myself writing, etc. And other great facilities- gyms, outdoor cafe's etc. This stuff exists in Copa, but feels more run-down. Will not be able to take out from clubs so easy, but. Trade offs.

Leme- I only discovered this morning. I have a great airbnb on Princesa Isabela and finally walked across Atlantico to are Gustavo Sampaio and having discovered this. Charming. Street, will be doing most of my day to day here. G Sampaio is extremely pleasant, shaded, clean with everything you could want. No point in slogging around in Copa when this is right across the street! The beach on this end is amazing as well, with the Ponta do Leme, a great vantage point to see the city and surfers catch waves (some huge sets rolling in right now).

Now that I know about Leme, my feelings towards my set up have changed and its a shame I already booked two weeks elsewhere. My building is right near all the boates and great for walking garotas back for take out from Mabs, Kalabria, Marrakech, Dolce Vita. And since I am so close to Leme, I can use this superior area for my day to day. My building is very girlfriendly and has many more studios available for budget minded hobbyists who still would like something that is comfortable. PM me and I will give you my rental agents info.

Last night I took a night off but the night before I met with Luma again. It was less fun and she was less hot the second time around as sometimes happens. I just can't get off with this one because she does not allow leite na boca or na cara. She says she is a "negra" which is confusing because she looks like a mix to me. To be honest guys most of these girls looked mixed in some form and how the classification workis aside from the obvious branca and negra is still a mystery. Tonight I will head to Monte Carlo and / or Solarium. Steering clear of Centaurus for the moment because I don't like the idea of paying up front if I'm going to dip out due to poor selection, etc.

The weather is beautiful, the cariocas are beautiful- its worth the trip alone just to watch the waves from the Ponta do Leme. All hobbyists should get down here while the getting is good and the real is strong!

I plan to go between SP and RJ for a trip in August and I definitely plan to book 2 one ways, as it's 1) usually cheaper 2) more flexible as I don't need to stick with one airline for both flights. And I can just pick the most convenient departure / arrival times.
