Angeles City

Today is my last day of a 4 day trip here in Angeles. I haven't been here in over a year. Things are different but still the same. Overall, Angeles gets worse for me every year. I've had only 2 short time bar fines. A far cry from the days I would get 1 short time bar fine for the afternoon and a long time at night every day. I always ask how long they're willing to stay and I've never had one say "up to you" like in the good old days. Maybe I'm picking the ones that are in demand. In general I'm getting the impression that these girls are just spoiled with too much attention. There seems to be a lot more hotels getting built, but no more bars. Every time I come back here, another bar is gone and some sort of korean establishment is built. Koreans are courteous, I don't doubt that, but I wish they weren't turning angeles into a small Korea town.

I hit up the freelancer clubs on Monday night. Skytrax was about half full. The new Mega Dance club, had about 10 people in it. I don't see how they're going to stay in business, they seem to be targetting a higher end clientele. But do higher end clientele really come to angeles? High society was 75% full on a Monday night / Tuesday morning and eventually got busier. This is around 12:30 am. But man, there were some real uglies there. Past prime women who should hang up their bras and retire.

In general prices are going up. 3500 bar fine in dollhouse. Flamingo bar had only 350 ladies drinks. No singles. Looks going down everywhere. Attitude getting worse. Has been like this for years. Oh well. Goodbye angeles.

On the topic of the Korean owned bars in the AFter Dark strip. I'm sure they are happy to take your money, blue is blue. But good luck getting a bar fine there if you're not korean, japanese or of asian descent (except filipino. For sure don't be filipino). The girls have a heavy preference for Korean clients in this strip.

I also got very good treatment from the Korean bar owners. One Korean owner pulled me off the street and into his bar and welcomed me to stay. Another Korean owner at After Dark got out his Samsung Pad and showed me the pictures of all his girls to select from. When the girl I was after "Anne" wasn't on stage, he called the mamasan over to take care of me. None of this type of positive behaviour has happened to me at the Korean bars before, so I think there is a softening in their attitude. Money is money.[/QUOTE]

My opinion: Not worth the effort for a 1 day trip. My usual trip is 4 days to angeles. Personally I think angeles is going downhill, but others seems to still really enjoy it.

Just a few observations of my time in Angeles last few days.

The perimeter bars, much the same, many perimeter bars quiet of both girls and punters, the few bars that have punters and girls are Korean owned and the girls definitely prefer the Korean punters, all are welcome though for a beer and I was made to feel welcome, girl quality definitely low in the dozen or so bars I visited on perimeter.

Fields, Atlantis bar had customers and was the busiest for girl numbers and punters of all the bars I visited on fields ave, no stunners but a couple of cuties in the shows, tabled 2 separate showgirls for a drink, both were pleasant, when asked to barfine one stated she does not barfine at all and is married to a pinoy, the other girl was about the best girl I had seen all trip (but not a stunner) and would come to my hotel after work for short time but demanded 5,000 pesos, offered 3,000 pesos which she laughed at, left empty handed.

In most fields ave bigger bars saw many Koreans, Japanese, Malaysians, throwing money around like millionaires and hence have all the better looking girls sitting with them, its easy to see where bargirls get the princess attitude from.

Skytraxs disco, very small amount of freelancer girls in here tonight (Saturday), most fairly rough, the freelancers were mainly on the dance floor surrounded by a mixture of Malays, Japanese, and a couple of older westerners, basically the guys outnumbered the girls by a long long way, saw nothing to my taste, moved on.

High society disco, more freelancers here and a jump up in quality girls, no stunners but some cuties, the punters were totally different here to skytraxs, most if not all were Koreans, a much younger crowd here, the best looking girls were sat at tables with Koreans surrounded by top shelf bottles and a table full of food, again easy to see where the girls get the princess syndrome from, spoke to one girl in passing to the cr, she was tall, cute with light skin, asked if she wanted to get a drink but she was out with her boyfriend (Korean).

Over the few days and after visiting many bars / clubs I found it very hard to find attractive / slim girls in numbers, yes there a very small amount of girls around (mostly show girls) but trying to get them to barfine was problematic at best, they are just in such high demand for drinks, the couple of girls who did accept (club ra) insisted on short time only (3000 pesos) ,they were so so back at the room but high prices and a was left with a feeling of disappointment.

I read from some on this board that Angeles is wall to wall stunners, that the guys are in control, they have their choice of multiple stunners begging them for barfine, these guys claim they always insist on long time multiple pops with the girls and claim that they will pay them what they choose or feel is fair and only in the morning and dependent on performance, all I can say is these guys are either dreaming or must be choosing some very, very desperate lower class girls.

All in all, The guys that seem to be having the best time in Angeles is the guys that are throwing money around like it is going out of fashion, the guys that are not Asian and not spending large are not getting much if any attention from the cuties from what I can see, The better looking girls are definitely in the driving seat, don't like their terms like double lady drinks and short time one pop then one will be sleeping alone, no loss to the cuties as there are multiple high spending guys willing to buy many drinks in the bars and to accept the girls terms when it comes to leaving.

Indian guys also have a reputation for taking a girl back to the hotel and then expecting her to have sex with their buddies.

Just left Cebu this morning. And I found pretty much the same scene that you did. The Koreans ruined Angeles, just like they ruined the Cebu bar scene. Its a different world out there. There are no stunners in Angeles in my book, but there are some cuties. But they know they're in high demand, and thus call their own shots.

As far as the apps that are geared to freelance prostitutes visiting a punters hotel I have had very mixed experiences, most girls were not as their photos, even taking text to video call was not much better, I had spoke to a cutie via skype who agreed to be at my hotel in an hour, one hour turned into two hours and the girl that turned up was not the girl I had skyped with although she swore blind that it was her, this girl was 10 years older,20 kg heavier, obviously sent her away but many hours of text, call and waiting at the hotel wasted for nothing.

You need to be realisitc. Are you fat, bald, ugly, over 50 and divorced? Are you desirable to hot looking 20-year olds in London, LA or Sydney? The Phillipines is no different. However, you have an economic advantage which makes you think you are highly desirable and the poor girls will convince you of this.

If you set your sights a bit lower, a great time can be had. I had a fabulous time in AC last week. I didn't try to do too much, didn't try to barfine in the big Tier 1 bars, kept to my own pace and was happy to go with 6's instead of 9's and 10's. In fact, some of the best times can be had with 5's, 6's and 7's as they don't have the ego, bad attitude or princess complex. Pinays are so damn affectionate and loving for the short time you have them. Sure, it might be an act, but they pull it off with such sincerity.

Above all, don't get hung up about the Korean, Indian, Japanese or Chinese punters. Just focus on the girls.

A lot people think that the Korean invasion has ruined AC. My views differ. I'm convinced that the Koreans have rejuvenated AC. Without them, there would not be this level of development in AC. The old white men from USA, Australia or UK were hardly in any position to develop the bar scene and they would have been hopeless at dealing with the underworld and politicians. We can all sit at some expat bar and reminisce about the good old days, but the fact is that AC is stronger than ever.

With the Koreans, we have seen new hotels, new bars, new restaurants and general liveliness return to AC. The place is actually buzzing now with economic activity.
