Your time will go quickly and you probably will want to see at least the Christ Statue. Next visit, rent an apartment. Next visit stay in Barra the Tijuca. Next visit convince your wife to come along for some threesomes.

Incidentally, on my first trip to Rio I hired a full-time driver and interpreter because I came with the intent of exploring dating not pay-for-play options. For the guy that recently asked about those possibilities, that is the route I would recommend, but clearly it is not for everyone. I stayed at a very upscale hotel and no there never were any bringing guests to my room issues. Now when I visit I stay exclusively near Sante Fe in Bogota and a variety of places in Medellin. Some people HATE staying near Sante Fe because it is dirty and perceived to be more dangerous, but if you know the lay of the land then it isn't as big of a deal. There are also some amazing AirBnbs in the area that are dirt cheap due to the location.

I see the comparison here when talking about where to stay in Rio regarding Copa vs. Barra. As this will be my first trip to Brazil, I'll be staying in Copa (to start) in Rio and Moema while in SP. At some point when I gain more comfort with the area I'll likely expand to different areas and then pick a favorite from there. Why start in Copa, one may ask? Well its simply personal preference given the convenience of proximity to what I'll be starting off with. In any case, I won't let my home base limit where I explore.

Once I hit the ground next week I'll gladly give a more detailed assessment to provide other Rio newbies some insight, albeit anecdotal.

In Sao Paulo, if you meet a girl at Scandallo, the minimum for 1 hour outcall to your place would be 500+uber. I can generally understand it but I would argue that these women should be considered lower volume, rather than higher volume escorts where the time traveling is wasted earning potential (obviously, these women could be high volume as well).

Seems like lately on this board and the Medellin forum there has been a lot of chatter (much of it sour) about prices. I will say to the people that consistently find themselves quoted outrageously high prices, consider that it could be an unflattering zapp photo- or the fact that you don't even have one- that's throwing things off.
