After a marathon overnight flight from LAX to MDE on Friday, I checked out Barra Ejecutiva, Maracaibo, and Conejitas on Saturday. I'll be traveling to Medellin soon and I would like to go to New Life and maybe some strip clubs while there. Many a hobbyist has enjoyed Medellin with little or no Spanish (though obviously facility in the language makes things easier).

My only advice would be don't hang around Centro after dark. Most of the Centro massage parlors like New Life are better in the morning or afternoon anyway.

The taxistas probably won't know the name, but they will know the blue door.

You can taxi in and out from Maracaibo or Barra ejecutiva with no problem.

That attitude to, more than the actual ability of, speaking local language will enhance the quality of your experience with the girls there.

Not to be redundant on an old point, but I had to chime in with a big "damn right" regarding Combo and Mr. Enternational's comments. I've met some great girls in Latin America, and especially in Colombia, and have had plenty of occasions in which I had to resist the temptation of wanting to "hang out and get to know her better". Maybe a little bit of chatting and texts, but life is simpler and better by keeping some safe distance and staying realistic.

You will not have any problems at New Life.

Good tip, it is Puerta Azul, as in la puerta. Taxistas will also be able to decipher the street address if you show it to them. Another easy way to find it is it is next door to a small restaurant / bar called "Botaniko". Unlike New Life and other casas, Botaniko has a large sign above its door. The bright blue door will be easy to find next to the Botaniko sign.
