Ratsky at Fortuna full of middle-aged filipina domestics trying to eak out their wages by turning a trick on the side. Marine (s) Club still actually good fun but the mix has swung mightily away from the shy but friendly filipina to the annoying West African.. Jules girls still have far too much make-up and an even worse attitude than before.TGIF / Astoria has plumbed new depths (& it was pretty much Marianas Trench even 4 years ago).. Even the good old (king of) York – previous customer guarantee "you'll always find something to shag at the York" – is a shadow of its former self, fewer & lower quality femmes and less blokes you can actually have a blether with. Don't even get me started on the Mint – only been there a couple of times but it aspires to a dinginess that makes the old Jockeys look positively swish and sophisticated.
You'll see from above list that I never really took to Premiere – the door queue & the Dhs 200 entry just annoyed me. Red Square is OK once in a while but aren't the girls hard-nosed, & again there's the Dhs150 entry and then they charge like a wounded bull at the bar when they do condescend to let you in.
Of course all the above is strictly my opinion & YMMV, but I too remember the heady days of Cyclone / Rattlesnakes / Stayin Alive (scared to even go there now) followed by the gradual but sustained reduction in quality over the last decade, but coming back after a couple of years with fond memories and clear eyes it would appear that verily, something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
Only positive things – both of which I hasten to add are important – are that it does seems to be mainly a buyer's market, and the prices have stayed pretty constant. On which note would appreciate a price check please, all based on LT (& in the case of the Africans & Filipinas, washing the dishes & making the bed in the morning):
• York all night Viet / SEA – Dhs 800 900.
• York all night Ethiopian – Dhs 700 800.
• York all night EE / stani (leaves 06:00 in the morning but worked for it until then) – Dhs 1000 1100.
• Red Square EE – Dhs 1100 1700 (think I charmed her the 1100 night).
• And a new place for me, Africa Club / Rush Inn Nigerian / West African. Dhs 500 – although being the only whitefella there can initially be a little disconcerting, in reality it's a great place with some of the best music in town.
If I'm paying over or under the odds please let me know.
And with any luck I'm just behind the times and the centre of attraction has moved on while I've been away, in which case any guidance to places new and exciting would be much appreciated – particularly any info on a better place than Fortuna Ratskys to find a little balut eater. My PM should be active.
They steal your cash and credit cards if given a chance. Just be very careful. I was lucky but others may not be as lucky to notice their scams and thieving nature.
The good old days of the cyclone in al nasr, a rattlesnake in metropolitan or a amnesia club in hard rock are long gone. Most of the good quality girls do their business online cutting the middleman out. Bars are a mere waste of time with overpriced drinks and scamming WGs. Club owners too are not interested as the cost of operation has risen sharply for them. In short enjoy while it lasts and focus more online.

Visited Moscow Piano Bar 2 nights ago. The girl next to me spoke and a waitress suddenly appeared and asks me to buy the lady a drink. I say ok. She says 169 aed ($46 us). I moved tables. I noted an incident when leaving RS last week. 2 blonde Russians had arrived and were being refused entry. The bouncer kept saying "change of Policy". Spent three days in Dubai. Stayed at the Burjumaan Ajaan, no issues but we need to be smart. One of the few green hotels left.
Around the metro stations etc. Lots of cards on the side walk with pitcures of girls and phone numbers. Las Vegas style. Amazing. Rediculous and they are going to spoil it for us -won't be long before the Sheik's shut it all off, if this continues.

I did go to Frji Al Murar in Deira in search of the Ethiopian coffee houses. Found many, what you need to do is to find the Faaz Supermarket or the Alnoor Hotel and walk around in circles. I always try elsewhere first. Overpriced entry, terrible loud music and poor selection. If you want to sit down they charge you much much more. Out of interest the other week before going to Jules I hung around 11 pm to 12 pm outside Premier and saw nothing of interest enter. Saw one tall blonde Iranian but Iranians never again for me, learnt that from poor experience).
