Peacock Garden is a splendid place to quietly enjoy yourself and your very special lady (or companion), "far from the madding crowd".

It's a private and elegant luxury resort, located in Baclayon (near Tagbilaran) atop a small mountain overlooking the sea. Set up by an illustrious German restaurateur from Manila, Peacock Garden is more like a large and sprawling chateau. Impressive grounds, especially at the large gated entrance, and, in the rear garden area, overlooking the sea below, a large and immaculate infinity pool which we had to ourselves.

Delightful breakfasts, homemade specialty ice cream, and tasty dinners at reasonable prices. Underground "wine cellar" area, next to a small private underground karaoke area (no sound leaking through to the ground floor). Outdoor recreation and game area, and small exercise room inside the spa building.

The main entry building, including small private bar and dining room, is full of memorabilia, decor, and furniture from old Heidelberg, particularly dueling sabers and Heidelberg University dueling club memorabilia. Also on display is a set of elegant vintage furniture reportedly used by Jose Rizal during his stay in Germany, with a certificate of authenticity.

Well-trained staff, quiet elegance, incomparable ambiance, and all at reasonable prices (off-season, under P7,000 per night all in, breakfast included). We stayed in a comfortable second floor deluxe sea view room, and enjoyed morning coffee on our balcony overlooking the rear garden, infinity pool, descending mountainside, and view of the ocean below.

Not for loud night life, this is a delightfully secluded and elegant spot for relaxed and quiet enjoyment of life, and recharging life's batteries.

So, I've been chatting to a girl from Pina Love for the past few days, only a few messages a day. I mentioned I'd be passing through Cagayan de Oro on my way to Camiguin for a diving trip. She's asking if she can join me. She seems cute in her photos and I'd like to say yes come join me. But we haven't met so I don't really know what she's like in person or if she even looks like her pictures. And on top of that, as well as this being a diving holiday I'd like it to be a bit of a sex holiday too, and have no idea if she's going to put out or not.

This is the first time I've gone on a dating site and had someone seem keen to join me so I have no idea what to expect in reality.

What are your thoughts on this?

You better get her to clarify her expectations as well as making yours known to her ahead of meeting. If it all looks promising then go ahead and meet and spend a couple days and nights together in Cagayan de Oro before departing for Camiguin. If the meeting is not living up to either of your expectations take a call recalling you for work unexpectedly in Manila.

I have spent time on Camiguin Island with a Pinay from Cagayan de Oro and I was happy to have her along. It is very quiet there and from my point of view is a place to bring your own as the pickings will be very slim there.

You don't want to get to Cumigan with her on your first night only to discover she is shocked when you try to kiss her. Flying thousands of miles for a cock-block ain't good.

Its called Maylaka, hosted by a Flemishman. About the only clientele (to this point, as its kinda new) are foreigners back to visit their wife mates' home province.

I suggest that instead of going directly to Camiguin, you stop for an overnight in CDO and see if you and the lady hit it off. If you do, then you can take her with you from CDO to Camiguin, which is an interesting trip in itself and not at all dangerous. The diving off Camiguin is interesting; make sure you take at least one dive into the "forest" of black corals. It's a fairly shallow dive with some beautiful, and unusual coral formations. Camiguin itself is lovely but relatively boring. I suggest as well that you take a few meals at Casa Roca Inn, run by a Filipina-Canadian couple. It's good fun, and it's got the best food I've found on the island.

Was there June 2016. About girl availability: brought my own and glad I did. Camiguin is pretty laid back. The route from CdeO to Balingoan ferry is entirely uninteresting the first half, after that less traffic but no more interesting. We did it in a private SUV.

Chat with several in case you need back ups. Don't waste your time going to the so called hot springs on Camiguin. They are now lukewarm springs.

I went with a list of 19 girls, all of them similar to SW's girl: all had been on cam, all had agreed to a meet-and-fuck. I had 19 phone numbers in my phone. On day 1, I met with the first girl for coffee. She flamed out and went home. During our chat I realized that she was no longer willing, so I txt girl #2 to head to the coffee shop and meet me there. Eventually 9 or 10 girls flamed out on the first day. Several could not come for whatever reason, and the rest met me and then went home. All were simply to shy to be seen with a white man. It must have appeared to the coffee shop employees quite funny: A gringo meets with 15+ girls over 2 afternoons, only to watch them all go home. Initially I was angry. On day 2, the remaining 9-10 girls did the same thing. I flamed out 19 girls in 2 days. Anyone thinking he's going to the province and getting the hottie that he's chatting with (but never spent time with) is about half wrong. Pinay shyness is not only legendary, but very real. I had done this successfully previously in many places, and now suddenly in CDO this procedure was a complete fail.

Interestingly, almost every girl (while in the coffee shop) denied that she had previously agreed to go to my hotel. Later, I sent the girls the YM chat log, that went something like this: Me: Are you OK to me taking pictures during the sex? Girl: hehe ok I never to that before but we try it. Every single one of them later confessed that they had lied about going to the hotel in early chats, saying that they just wanted to meet their first white man. One girl in the coffee shop had brought a cousin, and the girl was so shy that she couldn't look at me. The cousin told me the girl had never seen a white man before, only on TV. The cousin (very hot) wanted the girl to go with me to earn the pesos, as the family needed the money badly. But the girl could not look at me; she continually looked at everything in the coffee shop but me.

Man, that took me almost a month to read through the whole of the CDO thread, whilst making notes at the same time as well. Mind you it wasn't solid reading, it was only a few posts here and there in between breaks and lunch at work, and on the bus to and from work. Plan on checking out that restaurant La Vetta (or was it La Venetta) that you guys use to go on about, partly in memory of DS, and partly because you all recommended it.

Coming back to the PL girl, haven't heard back from her for a couple of days now. Well, I'll see what happens there and if she responds. Maybe it's the weekend now and she's just partying hard. Anyway, I've since had a few more responses, albeit on and off. No. 2 says she's a student and has exams coming up. She's off to Surigao on the day I arrive for a post exam trip with one of her friends, so I'm going to try and meet up with her when I get back from Camiguin. Talking with her on WhatsApp now. No. 3, well, she only caught my eye because she was wearing a wet-suit and she says she goes diving sometimes. Ever since I took up this sport, I've always wanted to date a fellow diver. But she says she lives in Misamis Occidental, and she doesn't appear to be online too frequently. I'm kinda hoping that this one will be up for the trip as well as up for the adult rated stuff. But don't worry, I'm not going to hold my breath just yet. And then No. 4, she seems to have been offline since giving me her phone number and hasn't responded to my WhatsApp messages yet. Only thing is, she's from Davao. And if the face to face doesn't work out, I'd kinda feel bad for dragging her over to CDO. But she does look really cute in her pictures! I know, these can sometimes be fake, but there's only one way to find out. That is, if she's not too shy to come to CDO.

If PL fails, then I guess I'll hit the bars and see what talent's available and who's willing to make my trip less lonely.

Haven't mentioned this before, but to Westie (sorry, I can't bring myself to calling you by your initials), GE, DS and all those others who posted great information on the CDO thread, thanks, and even though it might be a few years old, hopefully not too much has changed. Apart from the quality of the hotels.

CDO has changed a lot in the past few years. Sadly, La Vetta, my favorite restaurant, closed about two years ago. My hotel of choice, Pryce Plaza, with its large swimming pool and wonderful panoramic view, shut its doors at the end of 2016. A new shopping mall, Centrio, has opened downtown, with an attached upscale hotel. Another expensive hotel is close to Limketkai Mall. I suggest searching on DIA for candidates. Lots to choose from there. Just be aware that CDO isn't Cebu or Manila. Most girls will have never met a foreigner and are more likely to talk the talk, rather than do the walk. Shortlist ten and expect eight not to work out. Patience, realistic expectations, and research can bring rewards!
