Termas, La Bodeguita (LB) is on Calle Uruguay, downtown. It's a bar, it gets going late, often has live music, and freelancers hang out there. Quality is extremely variable -- everything from dogs to a few stunners. I wouldn't call it upmarket or downmarket -- it's in between. The other two places are in Casco Viejo and are bars/brothels. I've never been there so should let others comment, but atmosphere, quality and price should all be lower compared to LB. You're comparing very short time brothels (Casco Viejo) to a freelancer spot (LB) though.

Regarding hotels, Las Vegas and Hotel Ejecutivo would fit the bill. The Ejecutivo is nicer but charges $10 (could be more now) when you bring a date back, if they catch you. It might be above your price limit. I like Plaza Paitilla better than both, except as you should know the traffic between there and hot spots can be bad at times. It may be out of your price range now. I remember paying $40 or $50 there a few years ago, now it's $100+, but they have done work on the hotel. You asked about Montreal -- it's the worst of the bunch, cramped rooms with lousy beds (you get what you pay for), but they do have a decent rooftop pool, and hookers that use the place as a short time hotel and occasionally stop by the bar.

Just got back today after a week driving around the country for a week looking for brothels and stray push found a few all similar in price to Boca. Today I hit boca right off the bat going back for seconds at 5. 39 out of there by seven at nite. Got BBBJ last week from one of the campo girls I am starting to see some lite color gringos some of you are making it down. Look around I wear a large cowboy hat say hello. The girls are still ten dollars some of the nicer ones are getting a few dollars more but most are ten.

I've had better GFE with Colombianas in Panama and Cartagena, I think because the hookers come from other cities, are away from home, and are more amenable to a BFE (boyfriend experience). They don't have to worry about their friends and family seeing them out at restaurants, etc., and there's no boyfriend or husband lurking in the background. If you're talking about beauty, Colombian women in Golden Time and Le Palace (Panama), La Dolce Vita (Cartagena) and even the Blue Marlin (Costa Rica) stack up against the best I've seen in Bogota or Medellin -- Casanova was the only place I've been to in those two cities that would be in the same league. I should qualify by saying it's been several years since I've been to Bogota and Medellin.

But suspect you'd be damn lucky to find something there close to the hotties in LDV or the Del Rey. If you're looking for very attractive women check out Golden Time, Le Palace and Elite. I'm being serious and here's why:

My favorite places in Monterrey Mexico are not the expensive places but two of the lower end places. I seem to find friendlier, less expensive GFE type chicas in the lower end places and I've been with some very beautiful latinas in these dumps. Now that said, Campo Alegre has lots of lesser attractive chicas but that was a few years ago so I'm not sure of the calibre now. SN is San Nicolas (Aruba) which I thought the quality was quite high so I'm going back this year. I just booked (tonight) a CTG trip with a 3 night stopover in PTY so I'll check it out for myself. Since I'm very much a gringo with limited spanish I'll want to go with a wingman and preferably Paul Gore.

Is it really $35 for a taxi from the airport to the Marriott?.To the "City of Knowlege" Holiday Inn, $42? It's been a long time since I've paid a taxi driver that much money. Like maybe Laguardia to JFK. I thought taxis were cheap in PTY or do you just get gouged at the airport?

-does it make any sense to rent a car? (I usually don't rent cars in Latin America).

Thanks Hoser[/QUOTE]It should be only $25 from airport to anywhere downtown PTY. If a taxi driver quotes you more, move on to the next driver. (Also, make sure that they won;t charge you additonal for tolls).
