I have decided that my reports will be tailored to inform newbies to Rio, like myself. While I truly believe that RTFF is an important part of due diligence, it is often hard to paint a picture of the reality on the ground amidst a series of reports from a variety of people.

Necessary disclaimers: As previously stated, I am a young and good looking guy (if I must say so myself) so while I do enjoy P4 P immensely, I also spend a lot of time in the non-P4 P realm. For the sake of delivering comprehensive reports, I will provide accounts of both endeavors. Without further delay, let us begin. Keep in mind, this is my first ever trip to Brazil so I'm still learning.

Logistical information relevant for all:

If you are flying into GIG, there are 3 main floors (0, 1, and 2). You will arrive at 0 if you are in Terminal 1 or 2. On Floor 0 there are the annoying taxi hagglers, but also bank ATMs. I used these ATMs to get cash as it seemed relatively safe with a security guard on ground. Prior to exiting customs you can also exchange cash. I did this because it was 4.5 to 1 and I wasn't sure what the ATM situation would be. Sue me, 4.5 to 1 isn't 5 to 1 but I'm not here to pinch pennies – I wanted Reals just in case the ATMs were down.

On Floor 1, there is nothing of relevance except a Starbucks. Floor 2 is where you can get an Uber. Ignore the taxi hagglers on 0 and go straight up to Floor 2. Pro tip – try to get Uber VIP. There are a few ways to do this (do your research). It is the same price per ride as Uber X, except you get drivers that are guaranteed to have 4. 8+ ratings and over 1000 rides. Most of my drivers have had at least 10,000 rides and a 4.9+ rating, which makes one feel quite safe at no extra cost.

I arrived at my hotel in Copa too early to check in but walked around the beach for a while. It is funny because when I had my shirt on, the street hagglers wouldn't leave me alone. Once I took my shirt off, they stopped bothering me. This isn't because I am a "buff" guy (I'm not) or because I have tattoos, but rather because it helped me blend in. Pay attention to your surroundings! (and don't wear jewelry).

Also, this may come as a surprise to some, but you don't have to walk or Uber everywhere. There are Lime scooters all over the place that are quick and easy methods of transportation. Do mostly kids ride them? Yes. Do I only need 5-10 minutes to get to Ipa from Copa in peak traffic for less than a dollar? Also yes. I've gone all up and down Copa / Ipanema on those things. These scooters are EVERYWHERE.

Almost no one speaks English. Many understand Spanish. Learn Portuguese.

Day 1: Entirely non-P4 P.

Met a girl at the bar of my hotel and was convinced she was a working woman, but damn was I wrong. She was here by herself for some R&R but normally lives in a suburb just outside Rio. I couldn't believe that within 2 hours on ground that this was actually happening and believed it to be too good to be true. Struck up a conversation and got her number to meet up later. You don't need to have an "in" to a Brazilian social circle to meet non-pros, but my god does it help. Learn Portuguese.

Day 2: Non-P4 P and P4P Adventures.

After sleeping for 6 hours, I wake up and get lunch with the girl I met at the bar from the day before when I first arrived. Sweet girl, killer ass. Make plans to have dinner later this week in her town outside Rio. Her parents are excited she met a "sweet American boy". I think they want to meet me? Is this common in Brazil for a second date? I'll Uber there later in the week.

Kind of a small place but overall pretty nice. The girls were not up to standard for what would expect for the price and décor of the place, but it was still pretty solid quality overall. Yes, it is a nice place with nice looking girls but the price point just isn't there. I'm not even pinching pennies and I recognize that unnecessary expense there.

Will definitely hit up Solarium again. 4 x4 will be given another chance, as promised. Termas 65 is still on the list. A few more dates with non-pros are still lined up so balancing this schedule is proving to be difficult. BarraVIP and / or Private55 will happen at some point.

Now, time for more sleep to hopefully have visions of where these elusive top shelf big booty brancas are.
