I decided to go to BACCARA first. It's described as 'the best bar in Bangkok by a mile' by Stickman, Bangkok's online gogo guru. It was crowded with customers who were almost entirely Asian men.

25 girls were crowded on stage in skimpy white outfits. All were young, slim and half a dozen I'd rate 8/10 or higher. Unfortunately though there was a distinct lack of atmosphere. The girls shuffled on the spot and were more interested in looking at their reflection in the mirror than interacting with customers. With only three weeks at my disposal, I knew that I needed to leave Bangkok tomorrow if I wanted to visit Cambodia and spent a week in Pattaya. It was a shame because I was having a lot of fun. After breakfast I booked a bus ticket to Siem Reap at the tourist information desk near reception.

Siem Reap is a city in northern Cambodia that not only has the spectacular temples of Angkor what on its doorstep, it has a small pay-for-play scene to explore as well. As the sun goes down, Bangkok comes alive. Along the same side of the street as Nana Plaza are a number of large beer-bars. Morning & Night and Stumble Inn start to get busy early evening and a little further down are Zen B and Hillary 4. All have lots of older men drinking beer with a Thai girl for company. My favourite is Big Dog because it overlooks the entrance to Nana Plaza. I arrived at 6pm and drank a few Singha beers while watching the gogo girls arrive for work. It's a good tactic because if you see one you like, you can make a note of which bar she goes in to and visit it later.

I watched as tall ladyboys with massive tits tried to latch on to guys as they entered. About 30 freelancers stood on the opposite side of the street in front of Nana Hotel. This is the 'bargain basement' of Nana and although most of these girls are average, a few are pretty and would cost a fraction of the price of the girls from the gogo bars.
