I was in a higher end bar in Poblado last week and the menu had beers for $12. Took me a few minutes to realize that they were, in fact, NOT asking USA Airport bar prices for their drinks!!

I'll be flying in to Medellin from Panama tomorrow (6 Nov.) until at least the 13th. Exploring a bit more of Latin America until things normalize from hurricane Maria at my place in Puerto Rico. This will be my first time in Colombia so if anyone wants to meet up shoot me a PM.

The "casas" are in El Centro. By the way, locals call them, "salas de masages" As far as I know, there are no other permanent type establishments which are registered businesses. Sometimes new ones pop up and disappear quickly. Often, when this happens, they reopen in a "casa" that has been closed for a while.

Other "casas" are out there. But they are private and in my experience have always been more expensive and not necessarily better than what you find in El Centro. Private meaning they are advertising somehow and you need to get their addresses by exploring and being adventurous or possibly a taxi driver. Rarely are they "walk in" like the well known centro establishments.

Web sites similar to milerticos for example, you may come across some sexy fotos you like and it turns out the girl is working with a few of her friends in an apartment they are sharing together. Sometimes these girls will work out of a place for an extended time. Sometimes they advertise a group of girls for a new private massage spot. Voila, you found an "underground casa".

Otherwise, with the maps we have available to us, they make up a complete list as far as casas go.

Whatever you do or wherever you go, prostitution is so common in Medellin, if you are friendly and a little patient you will surely find someone or some place "new. ".

The la 70 area between Estadio and avenida 33 are really cool areas! Lots of students and locals in this disco, bar, restaurant packed area. Very centrally located while taxis in Medellin are super easy and economical to get everywhere you need to be in minutes! Furthermore, another option, downtown (el centro). Many guys I know end up spending most of their time downtown! And then at night they end of taking taxis all over the city anyway. Plus, downtown is much more economical for everything. Food, chicas, rent, shopping. Everything. It is called Centro bcause it is THE CENTER. So instead of 40 minute, 25 mil taxis each way for practically every chica from Bello, it is only 12 mil and 15 - 20 minutes.

You can try but it's not a pick up culture. I found the only two times this happened is with tourists, or when I happen to have a chat with a male in the group and he introduces me to his friends. Those are the only two instances where picking up would have been possible.

Thanks![/QUOTE]How well do you speak Spanish and how successful are you at picking up girls in bars where you live? If you're not picking up the hot girls at home, you won't be picking them up in Medellin.

If you don't speak decent Spanish, you won't be picking them up here. If you're young, fit, handsome and dress right, you'll have a better chance. If you're willing to talk to one or more Colombian guys (and you can tell the guys having fun with friends from the guys on dates) and can connect with them, you have a better chance.

Of course picking up a regular girl in Colombia is usually not the same as in the US, where you make your move and 2 hours later, you're in her bed. Here you'll spend several hours talking, dancing and drinking and get a phone number, or an invite to join them again. The phone number will get you a date, which will get you another date. Depending on the girl, one of those dates will get you in her bed.

If you're spending a few days in Medellin, trying to pick up regular girls is a great way to save on condoms, because you won't have an opportunity to use one.

It's in Las Palmas conveniently on the way from the airport. Expect to pay 200,000 pesos and up for on-site experience.
