I will elaborate a little from my own experience, if taking locals roads to Keelung, you will end up heading north on NanRong road (Road 5).

Eventually you will reach an intersection (NanRong Road/RenWu Road)where you are forced to turn right or left because the street ahead turns into a one way street going towards you.

At this intersection there is an OK-Mart on the right corner and a Hi-Mart on the left corner.

Turn Left, you should be on JingYi Road. Keep going straight and near the end you will see a Family-mart on your left hand side, the 'road' finishes here but keep going straight in that small opening directly infront, and you will see the shack alley's lined up to your left and right. Almost impossible to miss, but if you hit the train tracks for some reason you went too far.

- If going on scooter, there are always a place to find parking, if going by car. Best to find parking earlier, since parking's a ***** in Taiwan, and since I don't own a car in Taiwan sorry I can't help here.

Lastly. I'm not sure if this place is foreign friendly. I am Taiwanese who speaks fluent mandarin so I had no problem. If someone knows whether this place is foreign friendly please help out our members with this question.

I hope this is helpful to all Keelung visitors and people who miss the old SC shacks where browsing is but a couple steps on foot shack to shack.

The same or something in similar is occuring at my beloved Huatan redlight district. I was back there on Saturday, around 6pm, took the train there, went on foot, when I got there, 3/4 of the outfits are closed. Looks like lately its been hit or miss.

Got to talking with a friendly taxi driver the other night. He said there's some place out by Ilan where you get a bath and FS for 2000NT. I got the impression it was simple to do out there. Indeed, local people knows everything. For example, the guy who set up stand selling A-Sa-Mu red tea on our lobby floor in Yuanlin revealed two more redlight district locations that I haven't heard til now. One's in a small town north of the Taichung seaport, just take the sea-line train. And another 15 minute walk from Chang-Hwa train station. I will ask for the specific next time.

As for possible fun spot in Yi-Lang, do share please if you find out more. Although it's too far for me, but one day I'm planning on taking the train from Yuanlin to Hua-lien, and on the way back, I may stop by Yi-Lan, first for their famous 3-star green onion pancake, then hopeful their 5-star booties!
