Information for Ulaanbaatar hotel
I will come to UB at end of this April and stay at Ulaanbaatar hotel for about one week.
Could you provide some suggestion on how to find girl at Ulaanbaatar hotel and price level for it? How is quality of girl in this hotel?
Is it safe to bring girl in bar back to my room of Ulaanbaatar hotel? Will it become robbery?
Thanks in advance.

Chinggis Khan in-hotel massage
I noticed one skimpy dressed lady in the Chinggis Khan Hotel Massage and Sauna at first floor one night as I was around in the hotel. She was just loitering around the massage area so I thought there was some "extra" action down there.
Went there the next day around noon, but sadly, got a bad massage there with no extra service, nor private room for massages.
Wondering if those were working girls at the massage or for the karaoke? Anyone can put in some feedback here?
I am staying at the CKH and armed with Jack Mgl's report, decided to try the massage in-room. The good news is that it was an excellent massage, value for money at Tuk 25K. The masseuse was petite, pretty in a girl next door sort of way. Minimal English. Molgolian and Russian. Privacy was assured; I paid cash so it is not on the credit card bill. The bad news is that the massage was absolutely straight. I made a straightforward enquiry in that regard and was firmly turned down, accompanied by one of those looks of horror along the line of "I could lose a damn good job if I did that. " Anyway, I resumed a gentlemanly demeanor and had a wonder time. The scalp massage finale was the best I have ever had.
I enjoyed the massage and the rekkie. Tonight, the debate is the "spa" directly across the street (Silver, I think), or the taxi ride to the good place. Anyway, I have options, thanks to the mongers who have made some very helpful, very clear postings. Thank you all.
No Silver Lining in this Cloud

It was without a doubt the worst massage experience I have had overseas and probably among the top three in my life.
At 18H00 I hit the desk and elected the T20K full body massage (€12 or so) and drew "Ray", an overweight 20-something with the sniffles. It went downhill from there. The place is dirty, and thin walls meant I heared everything. Ray sniffled every 30-45 seconds; I know I am going to get her cold. On top of that, she was chewing gum like a cowboy chews tobacco. Her massage technique was maximum pressure up to and including intentional pain. No happy ending was offered and at that point, none was desired. Avod at all costs. At least it was an honest hour. If you speak Mongolian or Russian, you might be able to avoid some of this. But I don't speak the lingo(s).
Tomorrow's business schedule has eased up and I should be able to try out UB. Wish me luck. I will report if I make it.
River Sounds Live Music Club
I decided to wander over to River Sounds last night to check it out after visiting a few times in 2008.
Arrived around 11 pm and the place was just getting going.
Live band was very average, and the atmosphere was pretty flat and didn't seem to be likely to get going either.
Quite a few girls had rolled in by 1pm and were starting to make the eye contact around the bar area.
Foreigners beware of the "drink waiters" - guys in white shirts serving drinks. The waiter serving me was obviously running a scam. I bought a draft beer and paid on the spot and he gave me change out of his wallet (no bar chit). I never really thought much about it until I went to pay for 3 beers (I bought 2 for 2 lovely ladies). He told me a ridiculous price which I queried (as I had seen the price list); he backed off and apologised for making a mistake and again gave me change out of his own pocket with no bar chit. I asked for a receipt and he laughed and said not to worry about it, and then started getting aggro.
I decided to leave soon after.
This guy was obviously pocketing the money and not putting it into the bar. It seems this place is not well-run or supervised if staff can do this sort of thing, and it usually rings alarm bells for me that maybe other things will not be good either.
