Global entry gives the benefits for no wait Sentri line and more
With all the border issues happening lately I was also worried about getting stuck in a 5-6 hour line. Does anyone with a Global Entry card know if your pass is a means to bypass all this drama?
Seems strange that a migrant surge would cause a 5- 6 hour wait. But a few folks with global entry would walk all the way to the front with no wait in the middle of a border crisis. If so. I'm getting that pass. Soon.
YES. I have global entry.
It provides all the benefits of Sentri line and more.
I never wait at the border. I walk on the sentri path to the US Border police at the end of the line and they waive me through to USA. You still need to go through the almost zero line inside the building and see the border agent at the window who will also waive you through without any hassle.
After applying for global entry you need an interview.
Living in San Francisco area it took a while to get an interview at the global entry office at SFO. The easiest way to get an instant interview is to do enrollment on arrival from abroad - https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/enrollment-arrival.
