I will be coming to Dubai in the next 10 days and have a few questions that I'd appreciate if fellow punters have some insight on.
What precautions are you guys taking with WG's in the current Covid scenario? Temperature checks? Haha.
Are masks mandatory in a bar or club?
What happens if a tourist catches Covid while in Dubai? Are you taken to a Dubai government facility for 14 days to isolate in? Would they check who all has visited you in your hotel as in contact tracing?
Are the usual GF hotels from the past (Burjuman Arjan, Pullman Apartments, etc) still green?
Are the rates more or less the same or is it more of a punters market these days?

Took advantage of the long Eid weekend to do a recon of a few clubs here in Dubai. Haven't been out since this whole lockdown started.
First club I hit was Jules. I arrived around 9:30 PM and sat out side and ate dinner. The club is setup with more tables with chairs to look more like a restaurant than a club. Current requirements a bar can only serve alcohol if they serve food. The club was full with people watching the show of only one Filipina chic signing on stage minus the band. The atmosphere was a little slow with a hand full of girls sitting around 1 African, 3 EE and 3 Asian. I left about 10:45 and noticed they were checking temperatures prior to entering the Jules area which they were not doing earlier. Also there was no entry fee to enter the bar.
Second club was Premier. Arrived around 11:00. No entry fee, No pat down and they check your temperature at the door. They have the club setup like a large bar with tables and chairs on the dance floor and most areas where people normally stand. When I walked in it was only eight people in the club. No DJ just some techno music playing. The big TV over the DJ booth had a soccer game on. No strobe lights or smoke. All the lights are on in the club. You can't stand at the bar and order a beer you have to have it brought to your table. They also give you peanuts and a plate with hamburger buns with a side of carrots and celery. I told them I didn't want it but they told me they had to make it look like they were serving something. Around 12:00 AM a few women started to come in. I noticed 3 EE, 5 middle eastern not really sure. Drank my two beers and decided to leave around 12:00.
Third club was York. I read Timmy8907 report so I decided to stop in. Arrived around 12:15. No entry fee. Went up stairs to the club and it was like nothing had changed other than not a lot of women walking around. They put up a few more tables and chairs. The club was full with so many guys I could hardly see any women so I only stayed for a few minutes and walked out. The three bars downstairs were still operating but did not go inside.
Fourth club was Moscow. I arrived around 12:30 and was told the club was full and they were not letting anyone else in. From what I could hear sound like the music was blaring as usual and I could smell the smoke with out walking in. I recommend you get there early.
Last and final stop was Fairmount Hotel to peak in on Cin Cin bar. Got there about 12:50. They check you temperature before entering the hotel. Went up to the bar which was open but nobody was in there. Decided to go around back to check out Cavalli Club but it was closed with not lights on so I decided to call it a night and head home.
Hope this gives you some ideal on the happenings here in Dubai. This was also over Eid so maybe more active next week.

Are masks mandatory in a bar or club? Mask are required throughout the UAE 3000 AED fine for to wearing one. Once inside the club nobody has a mask on. How could you drink, smoke and eat? If you go to visit someone you need to have a mask on to enter the establishment then mask off clothes off party on.

I cost about 360 AED you get the results back in about 12 hours. All the travel protocols are online and go into detail about isolation requirements.

Unfortunately for us almost 90 of the ads have fake pics or old pics. Tired of social media and like to see them in real before I take any step.

I think it's a mix of a few things, people going back home, some people not going out as much.

Over the last few weeks I've picked up 3 ladies at the clubs, and each has been 1 k for the night. I'm not sure if those are normal rates for clubs like york and mint or if they're corona rates, but when the managers have asked for 1 k, I haven't tried to lower the rates because it's just so much better than I've been used to for the last few years where the lowest I got for overnight with an EE on MR (which is never a true overnight, usually 6-8 hours) was around 2,300.

Cheers.[/QUOTE]They say that tourists need to be able to cover their own quarentine costs if they need to quarantine, and mention hotel room rates, so I think the quarantines are still in hotels, not in government facilities.
I'm not sure how far they go with contact tracing though. I know if you test positive, you have to download an app that can see who's been around you, but you only have to DL it after a positive, so obviously it's not going to be very helpful retroactively.

To answer your question I have never checked a WG COVID status. The few I have been with I have know before the COVID-19 and were here when Dubai was on full lockdown. Some ladies say they have been tested but unless you ask for the test results you will never know. I myself have been tested three times between job and movement requirements. Once for free and twice out of pocket all negative.
You are correct the quantity of WG has gone down. 6 months ago you could go to the club and you could see all the action. Single guy walks into a club and 30 min later is walking back out with a girl on his arm. Either he has some serious pickup lines or something else is going on. The ones that left didn't have the funds to remain in the UAE without customers. With a one month no movement lockdown its was hard to make money for some. The ones that stayed had enough funds or other means to stay here. The 7 July Dubai announced that it was allowing tourist back so we will see who returns. Since the clubs closed down a lot of action has gone to WhatsApp and online.
As for a tourist testing positive for COVID I'm not sure how that whole system works. I know two guys that I work with had a test come back positive and they were required to self quarantine at home for 14 days then retest. They are both back a work after a negative test result. Everyone is supposed to have the ALHOSN app on their phone for contact tracing but who knows. The first month it was out it didn't work and what if you don't have a smart phone then what? I would have to say a tourist that end up getting sick and takes a COVID test that comes back positive the government will want to track you and require you to self quarantine. In the beginning I used to see police cars with lights on escorting buses to who knows where. I have not seen that in the last few months. I just can't give you a 100% answer because I have never talked to anyone in that situation.

AED 10,000 for those refusing to download the Covid-19 smart app.
AED 20,000 for hacking health app or tampering with its software.
AED 20,000 for refusing thermal screening.
AED 20,000 for copying, publishing or leaking health data of patients.
AED 50,000 for refusing home quarantine.
AED 100,000 fine and 6 months jail for repeat violators.

As an after thought, I met 1 chinese girl few years back. Her Madam was a good friend of mine, so she showed me the copy of her passport. Needless to say, the girl was pretty but totally inexperienced. So it wasn't a great experience. But now that I look back, had I repeated her, she could've been more open.
