But if your girl can't even pay that, how is she going to pay for a ticket or anything else once she arrives?

You are not claiming responsibility for anyone. You are just saying that they are coming to you as per the following example sent to me by my ex girlfriend. This was 7 years ago. Since then everyone that I have made this type of letter for has gotten a visa (I only change the name and passport number and the embassy info according to the country). That is not to say they would not have gotten one without the letter. Keep in mind that none of them were hookers nor unemployed. This particular lady sold condos in Panama.
