You are generous kind sir. I'm sure her other regulars (both local and foreign) will appreciate your coffee maker! They would have mad respect for you if it is a Keurig though :D
It would be a most inconvenient way for a foreigner to drink my coffee, (8-10 hours by publico, autobus and taxi). I don't obsess about such things. I leave that to you guys.
But now you mention it, I do obsess about my Keurig more than anything. We went looking for one in Playera and didn't find one. Perhaps they had one in PP or SD, but the unavailability of the pods in her remote town would always be a problem and I don't run a delivery service.
Guys are risking life and limb and Dominican jail time (if they are in an accident, especially the ones where the montochonchista plows into their vehicle) renting cars and driving for hours across the island to meet chicas.
They'll find her.
Plus driving your own vehicle cuts those publico and autobus times down by half.
It's the local suavecitos in her town that will haver her asking you to send replacement filters.

I give you guys too much shit about giving gifts. It's not so bad. Some gringo bought my favorita a pair of tits last year. And it was a flawless install, no incision scars or anything. She instantly went from a 8 to a solid 10. I couldn't have been happier, as her new bolt-on felt great, both in my hands and in my mouth!
Yes you do! So just to get you all exasperated and worked up again, here's a couple of stories from my last but one trip.
An old friend came by to say Hi. She was a student at the English school opposite Bailey's. She didn't have a job but was trying. Two kids as usual. We invited her to join us for dinner at Bailey's. She was hungry but didn't drink alchohol. She was trying to save some of her food to take home to the kids. We told her relax and eat. We ordered take out for her, and we walked down to the motoconcho corner we let her pick 3 expensive deserts from the german bakery to take home to share with the kids also.
That same weekend, we had the Charamicas family kids over to the Casa Marina to enjoy the pool and the restaurants for the day.
The cost for all this? NA peanuts.
Now as I was saying, I grew up poor. Those kids enjoyment meant more to me than your hoes fake tits!
For some of us anyway, there's more to life than a cheap fuck! :)
I will accept your perspective if you accept mine, which is my hoes fake tits are more enjoyment to me than some chick's kids I met two minutes ago. Why would I care about such things? Their happiness is not my responsibility. They are not my kids.
I wouldn't play daddy to a woman's kids here in the States, and I sure as hell wouldn't do it overseas. I've got plenty of nieces and nephews if I want to be generous.
You let yourself get too emotionally attached in this P4P game. That's how stuff like this happens:
Over about a year and a half she was trying to get a visa for Canada. I was helping. The attitude at the consulate was that unless she had property, family or assets in back in the DR, and money to draw on in an emergency, there was nothing really to stop her just melting into Canada's generous welfare system. Once they are there they don't send them back, unless they commit some serious crime.
She lives quite a way from SD where the Canadian Consulate is housed, close to the Haitian border, so she was traveling there and they had her waiting, sometimes all day with the papers they seemed never to get enough of. I went to see them twice, but they had me waiting so long it was insulting.
We did finally get a visa for her, but the flight was cancelled due to Hurricane and I had only a small window of time at home to host her, so I told her to forget it, as I was down there often enough anyway.
Anyway over the period the money I put in her bank account, and for the return ticket gradually got used up for traveling and just day to day living. She used what was left over for a visa to the States to see her young son.
I have as much fun as you with my chicas, but I leave it all behind once I board that plane back to the States.
Like a very wise monger said in this very same forum long ago:
"Mongering is like a Six Flags theme park. You pay your money, ride the rides, take photos, and leave. Now, would you send Six Flags a monthly check long after you've left?"

For some of us anyway, there's more to life than a cheap fuck! :)
Perfectly stated.
It feels good to give a little gift, or to help someone out, unless you're only doing it because of what you expect in return.
Here's a story.
I have a friend in Bogota. A few months after our online friendship began, I bought her a bunch of Christmas presents and shipped them to her, maybe a dozen little gifts, total, about $150 with shipping. Most of the items were cheap gag gifts, plus a few clothing items. A few weeks later, I get a package from her, with several gifts, a few months later, for my birthday, she sends more gifts. When I finally get to visit Bogota to meet her, I bring along several little gifts and she shows up with a Colombian Tiple for me. I play some guitar. The tiple is like a ukulele on steroids. She bought me lunch twice, paid for my transmilenio fare a few times and brought me some food items to bring home with me.
I could have taken a different path with her, played her the right way, and probably would have gotten her into my bed, and that would have been the end of the story. Instead, I ended up with a friend. As a bonus, I got a friend with lots of young and beautiful friends, who is happy to hook me up, next time I visit. I can live with that.
... but so is seeing what is over the next hill.
In the DR, not a lot. Certain areas have individuality, like Jarabacoa, parts of Samana, parts of the South-West, and small patches of SD and Santiago. But for most of the rest it is the same old, same old. The distant views when travelling are pleasant enough, though unvarying, but if you shift focus to the medium and foreground there is little but squalid shacks or shoddy functional block buildings awash with litter. You see one shithole provincial town and you have seen them all. I guess "flyover" USA is similar, but at least the plumbing works there.
This is a country with no history, no architecture and almost no culture. The only things worth coming for are the weather, the beaches, the chicas, the bachata, and the avocado pears. The last are only seasonal and I am not crazy about beaches.
This is not Europe. From my former small town in the UK the following were all within a very brief bicycle ride: the place where Julius Caesar forded the river with his army, the palace where England's change from a Catholic to a Protestant nation began (with enormous effects on subsequent world history, not least that of the US), the heathland where the Diggers (the world's first "socialists") set up camp, the terminus of PLUTO (so vital for the successful invasion of Europe in WWII), and many other major historical, scientific and artistic landmarks. And similar things could be written about hundreds of other towns within an area no bigger than the DR.
The best way you can spend your daytime hours here is to hunker down on the beach path at Sosua* with a cold Presidente and a hot haitiana and try to forget the rest of this squalid, disfunctional country exists.
*Best thing in Sosua is Castillo Mundo King, especially if you get to talk to the owner / creator. Surprising how many visitors miss out on visiting it.

I understand your points
Your point is totally valid. However we are trying to show the new guys best practices. Once you know what you are doing you can wtf you want. However out of the box gifts and propinas are not a requirement. The newbies need to understand the basics. Much of what we do is purely personal. When you have relationships with girls that you know it is normal to give them something extra because they give you something special. I would hate to give the impression that guys should be running around buying shit for chicas they are sport fucking.
There are plenty of girls who will use you like a wash cloth. Your best friend is the word NO!. If you are thinking of doing anything more than fucking and leaving you are probably making a mistake.
You're right of course, but some guys don't get it!
There are as many ways to roll down there in Sosua, as there are people with different personalities and different relationships. One size doesn't fit all.
It bugs me when posters deride others for operating differently. Gift giving is a good example. Same with propinas. Always seems to bring out the self appointed Monger Police Patrol.
I have a regular of 6 years. Sometimes I stay at her place. I like my morning coffee. I also sport fuck. Maybe the geniuses out there can figure out who get's the coffee maker, and who doesn't?
LOL.
As for the squalor and poverty, it sounds just like Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, just a few rungs further down the ladder. But, I've met some interesting people in the most unlikely places. If I was fluent, I would probably search out those places, just to hear the stories.
But, that won't happen this trip. I just got my confirmation from Wilfried. I have a standard room at Casa Cayena for April 21,22 and 23, and a bungalow for April 25,26 and 27. For the 24th I might head out of Sosua for a night, or I will spend one night somewhere else.
While I still might rent a car for a day or two, it is much less likely now.

Who is recommending being used as a wash cloth?
Who is recommending showering chicas with gifts?
Anything more than fucking is a mistake?

If they ever have elections, I will be sure to nominate you both for the Monger Police Patrol.
Just think! Shiny badges to show the newbies!

One size doesn't fit all.
The Milk of human kindness is not a story that resonates with all. Like you said, there are as many ways to do this as there are people but some think, a) you are supposed to be training "newbies" (newbies do not care or read this forum, otherwise we would not see the dollar raining down for example or b) that others will be in bed with "your chica" and enjoy the benefit of your gift or c) Gift is no better than cash in guaranteeing performance and so on and so forth.
I have been with Sosua women for 9 days in 2011 and since then, have not touched even a single one in that town. Should I then start telling others to follow my way? Hell, no! Everybody does what he is supposed to or feel like. What I want to do is my choice and I do not care whether I get better or worse service because of that. Do I care about what she does after I am gone? These are issues that bug only a certain group.

Castillo Mundo King
Thank you for the dollops of knowledge you dispense, I had no idea this existed and will be checking it out in 2 weeks.

I'm outa here.
Note to newbies: Bow down to the powers that be, they really care for you (as long as you don't question their "wisdom").
I have never aspired to telling people what to do or how to do it. One thing about the world of male/female relationships is that there is no manual.
Do what feels good and you can afford and ignore the naysayers. (they'll start their own forums of like minded people, and when nobody cares, they'll come back to the real world to complain LOL)
Critics are a dime a dozen, but creative folks are few and far between. It takes a lot of effort and co-operation to build a barn, but only a simple match to burn it down.
Decide for yourselves who you are and don't let the losers judge you.
(and you'll be happy!)
I believe Sosua is a rare paradise fro NA mongers, and I enjoy every moment of my time down there.
I hope you can share my love of the place.
