Forgot. When one of the pretty girls in Rainbow 1 opened her mouth to smile, all I could think of was Mr ED (the horse of course). What an unusual feature! For any of you who wanted to do a farm animal she would be your choice.

Has anyone ever seen an Ippun negotiating with a streetwalker? I've only seen Indians, Arabs, Pakis, Dodgy Farang hooligan types and africans.

If hot streetwalkers were equivalent to hot Rainbow girls it would make sense ippuns would rather pay 1000 baht over 3000 baht short time. I sure would.

In essence I think the places to have good service is shifting from the go-go bars to the massage parlours, this is only my opinion. A few years ago it seemed every now and again you got bad service from a go-go girl, I think this has changed to every now and again you get very good service from these girls. In my favourite soapy I have had one average performance and all the rest have been very good. Personally I am drifting towards massage places as opposed to go-go's. As far as pricing in concerned it is more like 2, 000 for ST and 3-4, 000 LT (this is for Bangkok). I am not saying this is a concrete price structure across the board but as a general guide line.

I would suggest staying in Bangkok for a few days before heading to Pattaya. Whether you prefer one over the other is a matter of personal taste.

I recommend visiting Mandarin, Rainbow4, Shark, Tilac and Baccara. Sub-one-hour short-times only seem to happen to one member on here, now deleted, but if you are worried about it when you talk money in the bar with your choice of girl, ask 'short-time. 2 hours? '. Your prices are a little out-of-date though. Good-looking gogo girls in Bangkok will ask for 2500 short-time but if you've got a bit of charm, all will come down to 2000 without any fuss.

As for what percentage to spend in Bangkok. I'd split it 30% BKK and 70% PTT. I had a great time in Pattaya. Walking Street has BKK prices but is a blast. Lots of pretty girls and lots of great bars. Soi LK Metro is worth visiting, as is Soi 6 is you want a bit of sleaze. The most pleasant surprise for me on my recent trip were the massage parlours. Dream Teen girls give great performance, there are some lovely girls in Sabai Dee, Honey and Honey 2 and treat yourself to a threesome at Devil's Den. It's pricy but worth every baht!

As I said, you will have a great time. Don't let the negative experiences of one person make you think otherwise. Enjoy!

this is regarding bangkok though i would say in general it is for pattaya as well. when you talk about "are there as many pretty ladies available as a few years ago", you have to differentiate between types of venues. i know nothing about massage parlors or high end gentlemen's clubs. the first i don't enjoy, the second i can't afford. so i basically refer to freelancers and go-go girls.

this will be argued to the end of time, but imo the world of freelancers is a shadow of a shadow of what it was 10 years ago and just a shadow of what it was 3 years ago. i wish i knew why but the freelancer scene has aged considerably on average, many of the old ones are still around and very few younger girls are entering into this market. so the numbers have thinned and they are aging before our eyes, so if you go to some of the once very good fl locations such as the nana parking lot, gullivers, the beer garden and climax and other late night discos, there is much much less talent than there was a few years ago. that doesn't mean you won't find some nice looking girls, it just means it is a lot more work unless you like girls 30+ in which case you will do just fine. i'd say pattaya is the same, beach road is a wasteland, walking street is the walking wounded and the girls who hit the late night discos are younger than in bangkok but not much prettier. thermae is a special case that has already been talked to death, some nice looking girls but mostly preferring a different clientele than farangs, which is of course their right.

gogos are such a mixed bag and so changeable from day to day. most gogos have some very nice looking girls but the majority of girls have no right to be on a stage working their body before our eyes. there are a lot of girls that i feel like paying to keep their clothes on. there have always been unattractive girls in gogos, but this is an onslaught. it is pretty common knowledge here in bkk that the owners of the bars are having a hard time finding pretty girls who want to be largely unclad and allow men to grope them for the price of a drink. i can't imagine why. so they fill the bars with as many girls as the mamasan can scoop up and they range in general from zero-7. but you can find some fine looking girls if you look hard enough and act quickly enough. right now, at this point of time, i have never seen it so bad in nana plaza. it is the slow season and so many of the cute girls from a few months ago, before i went home for 2 months, have just disappeared. so gogos like mercury, mandarin, rb4, billboard and the eroticas that i thought had a lot of good looking girls are now very much lacking in them. the nice thing about visiting of course is that you really only need to find a few to make the trip worthwhile and that is very possible.

as to service, of course it is diminishing. that has been a trend in the go-gos for years now. faster pussycat faster. but what is adding to it is that now the gogos themselves are complicit in this behavior. they often encourage the girls to get back quickly and in some cases they mandate that a short time is really a short time and the girl has to be back by a certain hour. they also often don't want girls being barfined until a certain hour because the real money comes from drinks and no girls=no customers drinking in the bar. and they very much push the girls to use st hotels in the area and there is nothing like a st hotel to take the fun and romance out of the experience. it is all about churning. these places can show something to a boiler room stock operation, which not coincidentally the owners of nana plaza and many of the gogos used to do. the gogos are no longer owned for the most part by ex-pats who knew about service and attitudes. they have all been pushed out and most of the gogos are now owned by businessmen who believe very much in making money and so are running it with an eye towards scale, speed and process. push drinks, push girls. bring in six sigma. and like most businesses that do this, they are taking the life out of it. but all that said, some go-go girls are great, but you need the skill of a fortune teller combined with that of a diviner to know which will give you good service and which won't. i have a friend who uses the 20 question format and that rarely pans out as planned, others who try to get cozy in the bar and gauge the girl's receptiveness and that often fails. i have one friend who won't bar fine a girl till he has sat with her a number of times and bought her drinks before he is willing to take a chance. it's all crazy. you take your chances and often take your lumps.

Thailand, like in many parts of Asia, is undergoing an economic boom thanks to cheap money.

This is all down to Quantative Easing in the US and Europe, quite simply the money printed in the US / EU is pumped directly into Asia to get high percentage returns, which has left the US / EU with an ongoing credit crunch as all the money printed flies into Asia.

Its why Asian currencies have got very strong. But of course its ony a bubble and the bubble will burst and when the money leaves and goes back to the US / EU then Asia will collapse again. 1997 saw the Asian collapse. 2007 the US / EU collapse and another 10 years to 2017 will see another Asian collapse.

However, in the meantime Thailand has 100% employment, meaning anyone can find a job and in this economic climate there is little need for girls to go freelancing. So for the next couple of years there will be a shortage of new blood into the freelancer market but the moment Asia starts on its collapse and businesses start to collapse and jobs are lost then a whole load of new meat will come into the freelancing market.

So its not going to be a good few years for mongering but then it will be like Christmas all over again. The smart money is already starting to pull out and its why you see the baht now starting to fall, along with other Asian currencies. It will not be an overnight thing, it will take a couple of years, but the whole Asian economic boom (thanks to US / EU money printing) will explode and leave a trail of destruction in a couple of years, a situation which will be most beneficial to mongers.
