The last 2 times I crossed the border I didn't have to show my passport and also went to the mexican national side as the foreigner line was closed. BUT I had to go through both the metal detectors AND have my bag searched by hand. I don't care tho because I don't ride dirty.

Next two times as recently as 4 days ago just everyone walks in on mexican side nobody asks for passport to even see it.

It was particularly slow on Sunday night in Zona. Memorial day is an American holiday and not recognized by the Mexicans.
My pet peeve is anyone in Tijuana who says "amigo", since they are often scammers.
I am completely fluent in Spanish, so I don't spend much time with locals who speak English. Including bar girls.

According to El Sol newspaper, there will be no dry law for the elections this weekend in Tijuana.
It's eerily quiet in Tijuana. Not many people on the street. Not many street girls in the Callejóand.

They just waived everyone through in the Foreigners line. Similar to you, I took my passport out and tried to show it to them but they just waved me through and didn't seem interested in even making eye contact with me or my passport LOL. Beats getting hit up for the $20 fee scam they used to pull with regularity I guess.

So there wasn't a line at the border this morning!

[/QUOTE]If it is indeed a family dispute keeping Adelita closed that's not good news. Those can get really irrational and last forever. You could look at what happened with Pernicano's restaurant in Hillcrest in San Diego for a good example.
