The Brazil side won't take much of your time, although it has some of the most wonderful sights, so don't skip it. First, I would say that TIA is among the best monger brothers that Vagabundo has seen, but not the best -- that would go to Players 2 and 3 -- not that this is a competition. I'd gladly go out on a pussy patrol with TIA in my dream team of battle buddies to have fun with.

The best place to stay in Rio is Transamerica, av gastao senges 395. Players 2 and 3 were here on their first trip, they were both rich world mongers, and they stayed for 2 months, an optimal time. Really anyone coming to Rio should stay at least a month.

The second best place to stay is in a Airbnb at or near Rua Sao Clemente 114 -- plus or minus 100 digits either way. The reason is proximity to the metro. I differ from Senhor TIA in that Botafogo is a great neighborhood. Trattoria is a great spot to eat, but: 1) Copa really is dangerous, not for a fit and alert guy like TIA, but one witnesses fights over a mere bike as a regular occurence, 2) you, the sex tourist, are the target, even on a nightly walk from posto 4 to 4.5 to get an uber on ave nossa copa, or around the tip of copa near the fort from the beach at arpoador, the aggressive criminals will stalk, and one must be defensive. Even Mr. E's brother had criminals rip off stuff.

Vagabundo lived at Copa posto 5 near Othon for 3 months, but did not like the stalking street criminals, who are more than pests, they are the kind of grinding, omnipresent reminders of criminal potential that can go kinetic in 5 seconds.

In barra, there is none of that. It is thus worth the 30 minutes on the free luxury bus to get to centro, indeed, it is preferable. And if you like to swim, the water is clean, the beaches are beautiful. And of course, at Transamerica, the hookers are all at the pool.

I wanted to add in a few more thoughts for newbies that I learned on my trip.

Online Meetups.

When you are using the online sites, I would recommend sending out texts to a few options rather than just picking one girl. They appear to be handling their own messages so you may have to deal with them being busy or non-responsive. Once you have scheduled a time, understand that punctuality is a relative term to Cariocas. At least half of my meetups were about an 30 minutes to an hour late. So I would argue to just be aware that you either need to be very firm about the time or ensure that you are adding in a decent amount of leeway to your time. Here is a very important note for English only speakers, there are certain sites like RioSexSite and allow you to filter based on English speaking ability. Be wary of this and use common sense. When texting, if the girl is unable to respond in passable English, she probably won't be very good at speaking. I found a big difference in my texts between those who really knew the language and those who didn't. In my opinion, I would hesitate to put too much faith in stuff like that. The pernoite really did feel more connected once they know you and you'll have much better service. One caveat, some of the more beautiful and popular escorts will not negotiate that much. Crime.

I stayed in Copa and I had no issue with crime. If you are worried about that kind of stuff, stay on the beachfront for peace of mind. The area is well-lit and there are cop cars every few blocks all night long. Don't be stupid and don't get too wasted, but I felt very safe in Copa and Ipanema when I stayed on the beaten track.

Travel.

As others have mentioned, just use Uber for traveling. Most every trip I had cost between 20-35 R while tops out at 7 USD.

In regards to my experience at the encontro, I talked with my co-worker and he claims that only some of the girls were online / termas girls that get zapped for these business events. He was shooting some shit about model agencies and such and maybe he is right, but that kinda struck me as a bit of boasting.
